"""SELECTIVE PREVENTION. A PROGRAM OF OPPORTUNITIES"" is a project in which the entity organizing, Pokhara Association, intends to accommodate 38 participants from 6 entities from 5 different countries (Bulgaria, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia and Armenia) and train their workers in the field of youth (all participants are workers or volunteers related to young people with fewer opportunities) in the field of selective prevention (SP). It is understood the SP as that which is directed to segments of the population in a situation of risk, primarily adolescents. The intention of this type of prevention is, in the first place, the modification of conditions or factors that facilitate or precipitate the use or abuse of drugs by making children increasingly vulnerable and, secondly, the renewal of behaviors, skills, values and attitudes toward the normalization. This type of methodology is framed within the strategy of the EU in the fight against drugs; strategy based on the fundamental principles of the Law of the EU and that respects the founding values of the Union: the respect for human dignity, liberty, democracy, equality, solidarity, the rule of law and human rights. Its purpose is to protect and improve the welfare of society and individuals, to protect public health, offer a high level of security for the population in general and to adopt a balanced and integrated approach of the drug phenomenon.Following this line, and as an example of good practice, Pokhara Association, since 2013 develops the program of SP and indicated EMPU-G, pioneering experience on SP in Castilla La Mancha. This course represents a exercise of prevention, through which we train the different professionals, with the aim to achieve put in place in their countries initiatives that comply with the strategy marked by the EU.There is no doubt that the SP is the strategy to respond to social needs in the field of drug consumption, and Castilla La Mancha with these initiatives, is placed at the head of the training of professionals in this field, becoming a reference for the prevention, this being the main objective of this project. For the implementation will continue to be a methodology based on the practice and experience, which will give a training sessions, lectures or presentations in the morning; while in the afternoons we will rely on practical cases related to the subject, and recreational activities and free time. For the training sessions will be counted with the presence of the following professionals (which will give remarkable quality to the implementation and results of the project):1. Lidia Prieto Caro. Social Educator with years of experience in the Selective prevention, Project Coordinator Empu-G, Technician in skills for Personal Autonomy and social attention to the family and adolescence2. Yolanda Perez Sanchez. Social Worker with years of experience in working with adolescents in the area of drugs (Municipal Plan of drugs) and in Project man.3. Amparo de la Serna. Coordinator of projects in the area of the prevention of drug addiction of the Miguelturra City Hall and the Calatrava Mancommunity. Management and Coordination of Youth Resource in the Miguelturra City Hall.4. Sonia Morales Calvo. Professor contracted doctor of the UCLM in Social Education.5. Amparo Pradillo. Child Psiquiatrist in General Hospital of Ciudad Real. While for the rest of issues there will be responsible people for ensuring the proper activities functioning and the achievement of positive results of the project.A manual of SP will be published , made by the experts on the subject, which may be found in addition to English and Spanish, in all the languages of the participating partners. There will also be a moddle platform, where all the participants will be able to receive advice and information on SP. These and the rest of the results of the project, will be at all times with the Erasmus program logos, through which it is intended to publicize the program. It is expected a great impact at all levels, due to the numerous dissemination methods envisaged.Because of the novelty of the subject matter, and to the importance of the same at European level, to carry out this project, will involve numerous benefits, both in all workers in the field of youth which form an active part of it, as in users of its entities, i.e. young people with fewer opportunities with which these workers or volunteers will work and those who will be able to help from the point of view of the SP, carrying out an innovative, effective, efficient and highly productive methodology. This project will provide to the participants an opportunity to identify common values between people from different countries who, despite their cultural differences, all work with the same profile of young people and with common objectives."

Adolescence involves major physical and psychological changes. This is why teenagers, more than other ages, need a healthy nutritional style. At the same time, they are the persons who, very often, have bad eating habits and are most exposed to the risk of eating disorders, because they don’t usually feel confortable enough with themselves. The unhealthy alimentary eating style (which leads towards overweight, obesity, anoxeria, bulimia, binge eating), becomes a habit and it associates very serious physical and psychological problems which, in extreme cases, can lead to death. More than other ages, teenagers need support for giving up the excess and disorder in eating and for preventing the eating disorders. The project Disordered Eating and Eating Disorders (DEED) aims the development of the youth workers’ competences and key-abilities in the field of nutritional culture through a training course run with the means of nonformal education so as to be able to support teenagers to increase the quality of their lives. We established the following operational objectives of the project which address a main target group ( 30 youth workers from 15 organization from 13 countries: 11 Programme Countries (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Italy, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and UK) and 2 Partner Countries (Albania, Armenia): empowering a profound knowledge of nutritional problems in order to motivate the teenagers to give up the unhealthy eating habits and to prevent the eating disorders, developing the competences in youth work by learning and experimenting alternative solutions (nonformal methods/ exercises/ learning activities; basic entrepreneurship) to support teenagers’ healthy eating habits, the development of a proactive attitude and behavior by designing and applying a support-programme, YES (I Eat Smart!) in the local communities, which will involve other interested actors (family – friends- teachers/ collegues – psychologist – nutritionist). We planned one mobility activity which will be run for eleven days at Voronet, Gura-Humorului, Romania, in May 2017. The methods were chosen according to the particularities and objectives of the project, the expected learning results and the eterogenous age of the participants. They are specific to nonformal education and will develop the trainees’ creativity and involvement: knowledge and trust exercises, reflection exercises; a lecture, PP presentations; open space, round table, workshops, learning café; roles play, simulations; watching short movies; study visits; trip; designing and editing a miniguide CODE, an informative and raising awareness material, a movie and a blog. Both on short and long term, significant results will be reached: youth workers will gain the necessary competences for helping teenagers to develop a nutritional culture; organizations which will enlarge their expertise area and educational offer; communities will develop a proactive behavior towards the teenagers with alimentary problems. DEED project forsees a significant impact upon different target-groups. At the local level, the participant organizations will positively influence the youth work by applying a support program for teenagers with alimentary problems. At least 500 youths will be involved in this program on short term; on long term, their number will increase. The nonformal and formal educational systems, as well as other interested actors will be sensitized and will become interested in designing and implementing common activities and programmes. The quality and the eficience of the youth work will improve by promoting the ideas of equality, respect for the others, social cohesion and European citizenship. DEED will bring to light a stringent program which, against all efforts (for instance the Action Plan for children obesity of the European Union for 2014-2020), still increases. The project finds some attractive and original educational solutions to this problem. All these will have a substantial benefic effect, on long term, and will contribute to the well being state of the youth. At the same time, DEED will offer the youth workers the satisfaction of a superior degree of professionalism.
