28 young participants from 4 partnering countries (Italy, Portugal, Turkey and Slovenia) will join a multilateral youth exchange 'OFF THE BEATEN PATH' taking place from July 13th to 21th 2015 in Kostanjevica na Krki, Slovenia. Young participants will focus on sustainable tourism and enterpreneurship while adding value to a local heritage trail which aims to educate, connect and promote. We will situate most of our activities in the context of the Uskok’s heritage trail, borderland walking trail which will introduce us to fascinating local landscape and history, to the stories of local people and culinary delights that are typical for the region. Acknowledging these values, we will use various non-formal learning methods and mobilise our potential to engage in local sustainable tourism practices as young local guides, fully competent to transmit local ideas, practice and heritage to various target groups. It does not take much to become a local guide - you do not necessarily need expensive equipment or payed adds - apart from personal engagement, curiousity, learning passion, ability to hear the stories of the locals, pleasure of storytelling and lots of creativity. In the exchange, we will strongly work on mobilising these with some help of our more experienced peers (i.e. hikers, young local city guides, food promotors and those who have some knowledge on the public relations). Together we will set hands-on workshops and panel discussions which aim to empower our enterpreneurship potential and at the same time add value to the local. Main topics will be: sustainable and responsible tourism practices; adventure creation; young local guides as agents of ‘green’ enterpreneurship; the power of storytelling. We will entangle the questions of how cultural heritage shall be presented in order to avoid certain stereotypes, but rather connect a guest to the locals. We will develop sensitivity to intercultural dialogue. Theory will be pertpetually linked to practical learning, our discussions will turn into actions through open culinary workshops (bread baking), storytelling evening and some other activities which will make our exchange visible and echoing on the regional level and wider. At the end we will also organise a press conference. As one of our immidiate results, a web page will be constructed based on our learning experience. The exchange will provide an exploration of opportunities for promotion and marketing of sustainable rural/ urban tours, facilitating the access to the labour market for unemployed young people and providing a supportive environment for job-creation.

The grafiti road is a project where participants will design and draw four large grafitis based on the History of Purchena. These grafitis will join to other 10 installed in different places of the town of Purchena with the idea of creating a Grafiti Road which can be visited by the people. We believe it can be a project of great impact. Participants will make grafitis from our creativity that will stay for a long time. Our organizations will be able to show what kind of activities we can do because it is going to be a very visible project. Also we will spread the importance of maintaining the history of our towns with the help of young people from three European countries, which will also strengthen our European awareness because we will do it through art and artistic trends that unite us young Europeans . All this through the participation of all, with respect for others and showing that graffiti can be a helpful and friendly activity. This project also has a future. We are already planning to carry out it in Italy this year and in Bulgaria and Greece next year, if is approved.

“Youth Protagonism for Better Future of the EU” is the title of a transnational seminar participation project youth with a duration of five days will take place in Villafranca Tirrena (Italy) from 11 to 15 September 2018. The project is promoted in the field of the key action 3 (K3) - policy reform through structured dialogue by Villafranca Giovane association. The partnership is composed of 9 European Countries Italy, Hungary, Romania, Latvia, Slovakia, Portugal, Spain, Czech Republic and Malta . The team are foreseen of 44 young people accompanied by a responsible or a leader of youth for each country. The general idea of the project is to obtain a real bottom-up approach for Sicilian young people in cooperation with young people from other parts of Europe, involving them in the decision-making mechanism. The objective of the project is to promote the Structured Dialogue, reflecting on the adoption of a new European Strategy for Youth, inserted in the wake of the 6th Cycle of the Structured Dialogue that could have a broad overview on the participation of young people and of what it is expected from the EU and its intersectoral youth policies, today and in the next decade. The objectives of the project are in line with the approach of the responsible political youth through non formal meetings. Also pursued the debate and knowledge about the European democratic institutions and channels of participation. This project included both young people who are familiar with youth policy in their countries, as well those who aren’t familiar but want to increase level of youth participation and gain knowledge applicable in their own community. Main project activities were based on non-formal education methods, discussions, debates, interaction, research, simulation, youth work and evaluation of participants to develop their personal and professional potentials. Participants were working plenary and in groups, focused on exploring some specific key area of this project. Each team has international character, in order to exchange different points of view on relevant issues and to get familiar with decisions regarding issues important for youth from the perspective of every participating country. Through meetings with decision makers and discussions / debates, participants identified key areas in which improvements need to be made in order to improve position of young people and include them on equal basis in decision making process and Structured Dialogue. The project has impact both on participants and decision makers. It fostered a sense of citizenship and made policy processes more transparent and accountable towards young people.
