That is people actively involved in creating situations and interactions that they experience as a conflict. These interactions are rooted in people history, experiences, perceptions, interpretations and expressions of their realities. This intern is deeply linked to the people’s common sense or understanding and accumulated experience, which allow them to react or respond to conflict. Social conflict therefore is a socially constructed cultural event. It emerges through interactive process based on a search for and creation of shared meaning. Shared knowledge and a group ability to name the world and their reality are pivotal to its manifestation. In short conflict leads to transforming and renaming of the world and its realities and thus not only is inevitable but necessary force for a dynamic society. If conflict leads to evolution of thought and action and it is positive force and an inevitable force in the world, than what is needed is not mere reduction or conclusions of conflicts but innovative mechanism and interaction to transform conflict into positive force of social change, which non formal educational system can help build, as it is a tool which helps name our world. In order to assure a quality youth educational work the facilitators, leaders and trainers should be equipped with different skills and abilities for detecting and analyzing a conflict in this setting, as well as using different methods for transforming it for the betterment and progress of society. We believe that acquiring alternative and effective instruments for dealing with these issues is necessary and represents a priority for youth workers in order to increase impact of their work and influence social changes in their respective communities. The main goal of the project is to increase knowledge and improve skills in the area of conflict transformation in order to increase the impact of youth work and its contribution to the social change. More specific objectives are:• to increase the abilities of Conflict Analysis and introduce different methods for its execution; • to develop skills in using approaches of Conflict Transformation, with the special emphasis on transforming relationships; • to increase the awareness of non-violent approach in conflict transformation; • to improve the negotiation and mediation skills of the participants;• to improve the communication skills;• to empower the participants to use and adapt conflict transformation methods in youth work • to improve skills in using variety of non-formal education methods; • to stimulate the participants to act as multipliers in their own organization and regions; The training course aims to enable the participants to use different methods for solving various conflicts, problems that they might encounter in their work and to increase the level of quality participation of youth in their communities. The participants themselves will gain new skills in order to implement their project on a higher quality; so they can act their own participation behavior in a more adequate way. Additionally the training course will develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people, in particular in order to foster social cohesion in the conflicted zones. This training course is aimed at increasing the quality of youth work and work in educational settings, by equipping youth workers with understanding of different approaches to conflict and abilities to handle it properly, while preserving relationships of young people involved. Bearing that in mind, it promotes solidarity and tolerance among young people on many different levels. By approaching conflict in a serious and sustainable way, it allows young people to hear the other side(s), to understand their way of being, values and beliefs that keep them going. Once the conflict between them has been dealt with and relationships transformed, those relationships represent true solidarity, and are going far beyond tolerance – into the zone of respect and appreciation, which in turn fosters social cohesion on the old continent. The project will be based on developing practical skills for youth activists in using various types of methods that are innovative and developing their creative potential and stimulate them in a high level to find solutions for different conflicts in youth work and educational settings and by extension for creating new innovative projects.<< Activities >>This project will be divided in three parts:- Online preparation, selection of participants, getting to know each- other, distribution of roles an tasks to the participants and guiding to the training course.-The main activity is a 8 days (7 training days+ 1 travel day) training course. It will take place at Nicosia, Cyprus between 01 to 08 November 2020. Except for the applicant organization, there are 5 more organizations from Program countries and 5 more from the Partner countries who will participate at the training and improve their competencies for conflict transformation. Total number of participants will be 34.- Follow up of the training course, implementing the planned projects, dissemination of the results, making the evaluation and following and supporting the participants in their future endeavors.Since this project is specifically designed for youth workers that are working with young people that will be our basic criteria for choosing the participants. We will identify and measure the participant experience in working with this target group through the application form which we will send to each interested participant to fill and the selection committee will establish several indicators for selection. We decided to have not synchronized approach for all partners because we have different profile of partners and we believe that this approach will not just be most useful for the partners but also bring diversity of experiences, motivation, approaches and methods to the project which will enable us to reach the project aims more successfully. With this approach we want to motivate new participants to be engaged in international activities which will motivate them to be more active in their work and apply new approaches in their educational activities with young people.<< Impact >>The impact on participants, as direct beneficiaries of the course, is going to be achieved through their active participation in the training course and online learning platform, their extensive learning by doing and a lot of practical experiences in the training course. Team of the training course will be working closely with promoters in charge of sending participants to the course in order to ensure that they have a safe space and opportunities provided to put their knowledge and skills gained in practice and therefore ensure that knowledge does not only remain on the declarative level. The best way to ensure the impact is for the participants to employ their knowledge and skills in their youth work and work in educational settings, which will ensure wider effects of the training course. Participants will also be supported by the team in the follow phase of the course in order to make sure that the knowledge is consolidated and efforts sustained.Partner organisations will: • Have their youth workers /trainers /facilitators trained in approaching and handling conflicts on different levels; • Benefit from the transfer of knowledge and skills from their participants to the work of their organisations; • Have trained staff in transforming conflicts occurring among young beneficiaries of their activities; • Have a base for innovative approaches to conflict transformation; • Have a solid base of partners coming from 11 European countries; • Develop more international projects in the frame of the Erasmus + programme; One of the ways to ensure a sustainable impact on partner organisations is to make sure to employ skills and knowledge of their youth workers into new projects and activities. The other way is to make sure that participants fulfil their multiplying role and perform a transfer of knowledge to their colleagues and the organisation as such. The team of the training will provide a set of materials, which could serve as a handbook, which would make it much easier to multiply the knowledge in the organisation. Young people that participants will be working with will: • Have trained youth workers who are not afraid to approach conflicts and tensions among them;• Will have their conflicts handled in a proper way, instead of having to carry them along;• Will have their relationships, which are subject to conflict, preserved and will benefit from hearing the “other side”. All this is going to be achieved through a coordinated effort of participants, the team and the organisations. As it has been said, partner organisations need to provide activities and projects for young people and support their youth workers/ trainers/ facilitators in working on them; participants need to implement newly gained approaches and methods; while the team needs to support them in this initial process, both through the online platform and individual mentoring and support.
