"ContextThe project responds to shared needs between the partners of a KA1 staff mobility project, coordinated by APCMA since 2017. The meetings and exchanges between teaching teams and experts from different European countries help to improve teaching practices and tools, through the identification, adaptation and transfer of other innovative pedagogical modalities already used in other European countries.ObjectivesThrough the KA2, KA1 partners want to strengthen their capacity to cooperate toGoal 1 To develop knowledge of existing expertise among partnersThis is to deepen our common reflection on notions of pedagogical innovation and excellence in order to achieve a shared notion and deepen the knowledge of existing practices and needs of educational innovation partners.Goal 2 Promote innovation and excellence in VETBased on the shared notion of innovation and the excellence defined by the partners, the aim is to identify, collect and formalise expertise and to present it in a common and attractive form (in the form of a directory / ""catalog"").Goal 3 Develop the quality of programs and the organisation of KA1The directory of good practices will both save time for the organisation but also better match the needs / profiles of participants and thus improve the quality of KA1 training: better target topics to address, better inform, better prepare experts and participants and meet their expectations. It will also help to diversify themes, approaches, methods and organisational formats of the KA1. For example: also offer incoming mobility (invitation to teach locally) or secure individual mobility.Goal 4 Create conditions for mutualisation and transfer of good practicesThe aim is to equip the partnership about the impact of KA1, to enhance the actions set up after participation in KA1 and to lay the foundations for creating ""platforms of excellence"" in vocational training (see also AP CoVE in the sectoral skills alliance). The target audienceThe two main target groups are 1 / KA1 beneficiaries and their sending organisations (consortia members) and 2 / partner organisations and their respective networks.Description of activitiesThe partners will concretely discuss the notions of innovation and excellence before developing a common grid that then identifies, collects and presents expertise and good practices (min 5-10 per partner) in terms of educational innovation. New fields of excellence an be explored. The collection of all the descriptive sheets makes it possible to constitute a ""catalog"" or ""a directory"" of the good practices which will be completed as the project progresses. The partners will also discuss methods for monitoring and evaluating the impact of KA1. Feedback about impact will also feed into the ""catalog"" of good practices. The partnership could explore the possibility of creating a community of practice to share existing innovations and what has been put in place after a KA1 training (for example in the form of a ""Exchange of know-how"" forum on Euro-learning) .Logically the results of the project will support the KA1 projects implemented in 2020-2021 and strengthen the quality, quantity of projects and the reciprocity of sending and hosting. The project also aims to improve the efficiency of the organisation for the partners, especially in view of doubling or tripling the ERASMUS + post 2020 budget.MethodologyThe project will be organised in 3 phases over 24 monthsA PREPARATION phaseA COLLECTING GOOD PRACTICES phaseA phase of CONSOLIDATION AND USE IN THE KA14 transnational meetings will organise the steering committee (all partners) and structure the exchange between partners. The project will be organised in 4 WGWG1: Management and administrative and financial follow-upWG 2: Project evaluation, impact and communication / dissemination of the projectWG3: ""Directory"" of Innovation and Excellence »WG4: ""Creating conditions for mutualisation and transferring good practices"".""Each partner will participate at least in one WG coordination committee. An internal evaluation will track the progress of the project.Impact / results / benefits- Strengthen mutual trust and develop the spirit of exchange and reciprocity;- Improved organisation efficiency and program adequacy of KA1 visits;- Promote innovation and excellence and equip partners to monitor impact;- Develop the KA1 European partnership and study and prepare the possibility of establishing ""platforms of excellence"" in vocational training."

The project included the organization of mobility for apprentices and trainers for the Oslo and and Akershus region. The partnership between these two regions has been successful for several years and is based on a mutual strategy of strenghenting vocational training through international mobility in order to support educational strategies. 48 apprentices took part in the project. They participated for the most part in 13 weeks placements with language course and training in company. 9 of them participated in a 6 week placement often because they were not permitted to have a longer placement by their employer. The apprentices are selected on the basis of their motivation and their personal and professional project. In order to achieve their goals, we offer them a placement abroad that included a language course and a placement in a local company. This allows them to learn new techniques, to experience life abroad and to reflect on what this experience can bring to them in the future. We cooperated with institutions in 10 European countries for organizing the placement: Austria, Denmark, England, France, Greece, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal and Spain. We offered not only a large range of destinations, but also a large range of professions: - childcare workers- healthcare workers- baker- automobil mechanic- electricians- IT workers- cooks- office and administration workers- receptionists - carpentersChildcare workers are the most represented vocational training and we placed 14 apprentices in England, Spain and Italy. We look forward to deepening our ties with our current partners in this field. Only 2 trainers were placed abroad for a duration of 4-5 days, both in Italy (childcare and service/catering) . The aim was to improve the awareness of the training enterprise about the benefits of international mobility and hopefully trigger “internationalization at home” by using the international experience for training VET learning in Norway. The aim is also to benefit from the trainer’s professional expertise to define better the specific learning outcomes of some specific placements for apprentices. The feedback from the 2 trainers was positive, though we experienced that it could be challenging to send both a trainer and its trainee to the same place. We have learned we must prepare trainers better to complete their task.

The main objective of sequa’s mobility programme 2016-2018 was the improvement and internationalization of technical vocational education and training (TVET) in Europe and the promotion of mobility for trainees and professionals in vocational education. The programme consisted of the three programme segments SINDBAD, TRANSDUAL and move-it. SINDBAD offered trainees of all professions engaged in dual vocational education or one year after finishing the apprenticeship, the opportunity to gather working experience in other European countries. The average duration of a learning experience in a company abroad was three to four weeks, mostly organized as a group event. The programme segment TRANSDUAL addressed trainees in commercial occupations and supported business language and skills training in France, the UK or Spain. SINDBAD and TRANSDUAL allowed the participants to learn new techniques within their occupations in the host country, to increase their language skills and intercultural competences and thus, improve their competitiveness. Through the development of professional, methodical, and social competencies of the participants, the programme segments made a contribution to the fight against youth unemployment in Europe. The programme segment for professionals in vocational education of the consortium partners is called move-it (mobility of vocational educational institutions and trainers). It enabled individual professionals in vocational education to exchange work experiences and techniques with other professionals abroad. The designs of the study trips varied significantly, according to the needs, and gave the participants the opportunity to get insights about European VET structures, to increase their language and intercultural competences and to develop a European network. Teachers and trainers were able to use their learning experiences abroad to enhance their teaching and the development of new training concepts. Furthermore, they motivated their apprentices to become more open to working opportunities abroad. Both target groups of sequa’s mobility programme are important multipliers in mobility, especially the professionals in vocational education. Open-minded VET professionals and “mobile” trainees with experience abroad, who think internationally, contribute to the intra-European recognition of learning experiences and support the harmonisation of European TVET systems. It is sequa’s commitment to support vocational mobility sustainably by increasing the number of study trips for apprentices, journeymen and professionals in the TVET sector. For the mobility programme 2016-2018, sequa and its ten consortium partners planned to realize 362 study trips to 16 countries. 307 of these mobility measures were part of sequa’s pool project for trainees (programme segments SINDBAD and TRANSDUAL) whereas 55 study trips were reserved for the group of vocational teachers and trainers (programme segment move-it). All granted study trips for both target groups, trainees and professionals in vocational education, were implemented within the two year duration of the project, which is a utilization of 100%. The average duration of a learning experience for trainees was with 21 days only one day longer than the estimated duration of 20 days. The study trips of VET professionals lasted on average only 3 days, which is only half of the duration that was anticipated during the application. It was difficult for teachers and instructors to be absent from work for a whole week. Therefore, 2% of the budget could not be utilized due to the shorter duration of the VET professional study trips. The mobility programme 2016-2018 was implemented very successfully, documented by the high interest of the target participants. All granted study trips were executed (100%) and 98% of the financial budget was utilized. It contributed to the European education agenda “Education and Training 2020”, which tar-gets that in 2020 up to 10% of the TVET trainees in Germany complete part of their vocational education abroad.
