"Oviedo City Council promoted European mobility in the framework of the Leonardo da Vinci programs, to improve employability and increase chances of young people from Oviedo in the labor market. After a very positive experience, the Council decided to promote the creation of a Consortium with 3 centers of Secondary Education from Oviedo, within the Erasmus programs, in order to give young people with Vocational Training and the participants in the municipal Workshop School with professional certificates the opportunity to go on these mobility programs. This new group is composed by people who, mostly, have very specific problems, not only with their learning path, but also with their life circumstances. For these people the experience of mobility is not a priority or is inaccessible due to lack of resources, mainly economic. The main objective of the project was to increase the chances of employment of these people adapting their professional profiles to the needs of the labor market today and to improve their language, occupational, relational and intercultural skills, all in a European context. Mobility implies, above all, personal growth and development of individual autonomy and at the same time undergoing a process of learning/improvement of a language other than own, knowledge of new forms and methods of work and business organization, the development of the capacity to adapt, to be flexible and, even the development of the entrepreneurial spirit. This goal has been achieved thanks to the implementation of 90-day periods of practical training in Czech Republic, Italy and Portugal. Before the start of the mobility experiences, the City Council organized, in Oviedo, various language courses (English, Italian and Portuguese, respectively) of 25 hours each. Labor orientated training modules (active job search 2.0) on prevention of occupational hazards were also organized, socio-cultural information given to each participant and interest issues were resolved on each destination country. The project was initially planned for 17 people but finally involved 15 (6 women and 9 men) due to family reasons with some selected participants. There were 3 people from the municipal Workshop School “Tradition and Innovation"" and 12 from the Vocational Schools of the Secondary Schools from the Consortium. Of these, 5 people carried out Administrative management, 2 Graphic Arts, 2 Consumer Electronics Equipment, 1 Machining Expert, 1 Mechanical and hydraulic installation of solar thermal systems y 1 Installation and maintenance driving equipment. From the City Council Workshop, 1 with Professional Certificate of Touristic Promotion y 2 from Development Multimedia Publishing Products. The ages of the participants ranged from 19 to 35 years, mainly between 22 and 24 years old.The results and impacts achieved are grouped into two levels: 1) Professional: specialization in the educational sector; acquisition of new knowledge and practice of the previously acquired; experience to add to your CV; knowledge of the operation of a business in a particular sector; technological learning; improvement of job skills; practice and improvement of second-language at the professional level2) Personal: knowledge of other European countries and new habits, improve social skills, improving language skills, acquisition of maturity, initiative, autonomy, responsiveness and adaptation, more integrated vision of Europe. The experience of these participants has served as a motivation to others that want to participate in 2015.Long term, the program will contribute to it having more skilled people in the local labor market and that the participants have higher expectations of employment."

"IGEA was the goddess of health and cleanliness in ancient Greece, where the relationship between man and nature ranged from those who theorized the supremacy of the first on the second, like Aristotle, and those who, like Pythagoras later, pushed for an approach with empirical spirit so to understand the ecological mechanisms that act within an ecosystem, and precisely the links between human health and the state of the environment. As we know the modern world stands on the first perspective, producing a planetary ecological imbalance evoked by many people, now.Within this context, economists and politicians invite us to look to the green economy as the only viable way to:-get out of the economic crisis that hit world markets in the last two years;-stop the dissipation of resources;-create new jobs and entrepreneurship. The development of opportunities arising from the green economy is indeed central to the Europe 2020 strategy, indicating in a smart, sustainable and inclusive growth priorities towards which to address the future of the Union. The Report of Unioncamere ""GreenItaly 2014, feeding the future"" shows that the ""green"" sector is growing. Even the ILO, the International Labour Organization of the United Nations, has placed its focus on green industry, in particular the link between environmental sustainability and decent work, as highlighted in the report ""Green Jobs becoming a reality - Progress and outlook 2013 "".Also, the report edited by the Energy Observatory IRES-CGIL arrives to interesting conclusions according to which only in South Italy, by 2020, green jobs will increase to 9,000 units, while at the national level 12,000 net permanent units will be reached. These figures can not be ignored considering that Sicily and Sardinia, present in this consortium, are among the poorest regions of Europe as well as Veneto, the other region represented in the project, where the crisis has torn the local productive area.Environmental jobs not necessarily generate new professions, in fact, most of the strictly environmental professions concern traditional figures ""renewed"", needing for a widening and / or upgrading of skills of the profiles in the green key.The employment potential of new green approaches have relapsed also the VET offer, and within this context the meaning of the IGEA project can be read, offering a postgraduate education that strengthens the skills of young graduates of the project partner institutions, enhancing their employability in green jobs.IGEA addressed to 90 recent graduates in Sicily, Sardinia and Veneto who have concluded a VET study course within one year, in the area of mechanics, mechatronics and energy, electronics and electrical engineering, chemistry, materials and biotechnology, computer science. Specific project objectives are: -Increase of the employability of young VET graduates from the project partners schools, offering an opportunity for on-the-job training abroad to expand their technical and professional skills in step with the skills required by the new trends of green economy.-Promoting the access of VET recent graduates from project partner schools in the European labor market, offering a first opportunity of comparison with a cultural, social and economic environment different from their one, and strengthening the knowledge of a foreign language.-Reinforce, through an internship of 13 weeks, soft skills as required by the green labor market: team work ability, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills. The job profiles to which the internships will be directed are: photovoltaic and photo thermoelectric, heat pumps system installer, low enthalpy geothermal systems installer installer, heat solar systems installer, micro controllers programming technician, environmental detection systems qualified technician, technician for the management of collection, reutilization and recycling of waste, energy producing biomass systems installer, mechatronic technician, waste disposal lab technician, green chemist, environment computer technician. The mobility activities will be preceded by a linguistic preparation, through the European Commission portal, work-and-live-abroad pedagogical preparation and information about logistical and training aspects of the specific activity of mobility. The project is presented by a consortium of organizations built on a multisectoral basis and including diverse geographical origins. Coordinator of the project is the Technical School Vittorio Emanuele III, leader of Rete Sicilia per l'Europa (Sicily Network For Europe), which has involved two other Sicilian institutions in the project:“I.T.I.S. Galileo Ferraris” Technical Institute in San Giovanni La Punta (CT) and “Enzo Ferrari” Institute in Barcelona P.G. (ME).To ensure a wider territorial benefits, a Sardinian school and a VET center from Veneto Region were then involved:“IISS Primo Levi” Technical School Quartu St. Helena (CA)“Associazione Lepido Rocco” in Motta di Livenza (TV). The foreign partnership is broad and spread over seven European countries. The project has been joined by host organizations which, thanks to their experience and their business strongly bounded with the geographical area, will ensure a high quality demand-supply trainships matching and an excellent range of logistics services. In the partnership there are also 18 European companies that have already indicated their willingness to accept IGEA trainees in the planning phase.By destination 90 grants will be distributed as follows:Seville - Lisbon - Berlin - Lund (SE) – Prague - Plymouth (GB) - Cork The internships abroad will have a duration of 13 weeks. In order to enhance the employment impact of the project, ""SEND"" a job agency authorized by the Italian Ministry of Labour was involved, specialized in transnational projects of guidance and placement. In addition, actors such as the Department of productive activities of the City of Palermo, Confindustria Sicilia (Sicilia Chamber of Industry), Assoprovider and the Regional Agency for the environment were involved so to ensure the systemically diffusion of the project actions, on the ground of political decisions and economic choices.Legambiente Sicilia is also present as an important partner to spread the culture of economic growth n which respect for the environment is a common value. There are several activities of follow-up and dissemination: post mobility guidance and job placement paths, conferences on green economy and its impact on employment in Europe, videos filmed by the youngs on their work experience abroad. The impact of the project is expected especially on two dimensions: employability and ""culture of international mobility"". The project is, in fact, designed to make young people's CV, who graduate in VET school or centres more attractive, offering additional education in terms of technical and professional skills, but also soft and key ones, and propagate among young people the European citizenship culture, which leads them to think of their future personal and professional development beyond their national borders."
