The increase of refugees of different race and religion around us influences the raise of “right” oriented aggressive feelings among mainstream population. The root of the main new age wave of islamophobia starts after the suicidal plane crashes on September 11 in the USA and it rapidly spreads and grows due to more often recent terrorist attacks caused by different extremist groups all around Europe.Due to the very bias reporting of the media – it is always stressed the national/religious/racial background of the specific criminals/terrorists, as if that is important factor of their terrorism. Also, in our countries of Western Balkans we are experiencing the same type of biased media reporting (“Roma guy has beaten the peer”, “Muslim has robbed a store”, “Albanian stole a car”, etc. As well as in the EU countries, the media reporting is biased about the terrorist attacks. Such biased media reporting contributes to faster and stronger development of prejudices and stereotypes, where readers more easily projects: “this terrorist is Muslim – all Muslims are terrorists”; “ISIS is ‘Islamic’ country – all supporters of Islam are ISIS’s supporters and terrorists”, etc.In general, since Europe is mainly built on Christian heritage and antic roots, not much is known about Islam outside of Islamic and interreligious groups. Also, Islam is not the only stigmatised religion, but just the most drastic example. Very marginalised treatment full of prejudices is also given towards many other religions also present in Europe (even more with bigger number of migrants nowadays) – Hinduism, Taoism, Jainism, etc. Responding to all mentioned above, our project’s aim is: Promoting interreligious dialogues and encounters in our youth work, through retrospective view of current refugee crises and islamophobia that is root of many xenophobic outbursts towards refugees, immigrants and asylum seekers. Objectives of the project:- Raise competences of our youth workers to empower youngsters in our communities and raise their competences and motivation for critical review towards media and media reporting, when it comes to religious backgrounds- Promote intercultural dialogue and acceptance among our youth workers and equipping them with tools and methods to further promote those among our beneficiaries- Deconstruction of misapprehensions about different religions and alleged religious teaching about warmongering among youth workers and youngsters in our communitiesThe core activity of the project is – 9 days long training course. It will be organised in the area of Blagaj-Mostar in September 2020. Project will gather 31 participants, trainers and staff from 8 organisations and countries (DE, RS, BA, HR SI, SE, UK and MNE). It is expected that there will be at least 17 participants with fewer opportunities. The course is based on pedagogical understanding of Council of Europe and European Commission Partnership Programme and our own experience and expertise in project management and youth work for interreligious dialogue, inclusion and intercultural learning/acceptance. The course will follow the non-formal education approach, principles and methods and will be based on participants' experience and exchange. All partners will be involved in preparation, implementation, evaluation and follow-up phase and activities during the project, while the preparation team of trainers, facilitators and staff will be comprised of experienced youth trainers and youth workers from applicant/partners from Germany, Serbia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.Project will have biggest impact on direct beneficiaries-participants who will further develop creative and analytical thinking of ways of active citizenship for development of inclusive society through development of quality (local and) European NFE youth work projects dealing with intercultural and interreligious acceptance. Youth in communities are indirect beneficiaries who will benefit thanks to the empowerment of our participants who will further guide, lead and organise those youngsters in communities to get more active in interreligious dialogue for better inclusion and acceptance in society. We expect increase in number of young people that will get their competences and motivation for interreligious dialogue and acceptance further developed, through increased quality of youth work activities for interfaith and interreligious dialogue, as long-term perspective of multiplying and sustainable impact.<< Activities >>The core activity of the project is – 9 days long training course. It will be organised in the youth hostel in Blagaj, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 4th till 12th September 2020. Project will gather 31 participants, trainers and staff from 8 organisations and countries. There will be at least 17 participants with fewer opportunities. All partners will be involved in preparation, implementation, evaluation and follow-up phase and activities during the project, while the preparation team of trainers, facilitators and staff will be comprised of experienced youth trainers and youth workers from applicant/partners from Germany, Serbia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.<< Impact >>Project will have biggest impact on direct beneficiaries-participants:- They'll get to know the situations of immigrants, asylum seekers and other youth with fewer opportunities in other participants' communities. They will learn more about realities and different practices in other European countries when it comes to (combating) religion prejudices and stereotypes, intolerance and discrimination, share ideas on exclusion/inclusion and interreligious dialogue and will further develop creative and analytical thinking of ways of active citizenship for development of inclusive society through development of quality (local and) European youth work projects dealing with intercultural and interreligious acceptance. They will further develop their skills in developing, leading and evaluating quality NFE youth work activities promoting the interreligious dialogue and acceptance. They will refresh their knowledge about Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme and will explore it further with other participants to use it while developing own initiatives within their organisations and communities. - The gained competences will be quantitatively measured in the learning reflection that the participants will fill in on the last day of the training course. There one will be able to compare their level of specific competences from before the training course and after the training course. We expect the significant increase of the level of competences gained among participants.Partner organisations:• Will improve own work with youth interreligious dialogue and acceptance, as they will receive 2 or 3 trained people capable and encouraged for working on new and existing activities in relation to interfaith / interreligious youth work connected to acceptance and inclusion of immigrants, asylum seekers and other youth with fewer opportunities belonging to different cultural groups.• Will be more capable and better equipped for developing of new European projects and partnerships, as their representatives at the training course will further improve their competences in the field and will get to know better other partners and their representatives at the training course. • Impact on other youth workers/volunteers in our organisations is expected as they will participate on the multiplication workshops that our participants will organise. In addition to their 2 or 3 participants, representatives at the training course, each partner organisation will get at least 5 more people increased capacities and motivated for initiating and coordination of interfaith/interreligious projects and involving additional youngsters in those. We expect total of 11 multiplication workshops (one per partner organisation), with at least 5 other youth workers/volunteers participating at each workshop. Thus, we expect total of at least 55 more youth workers/volunteers encouraged and empowered. Youth in communities:- Other youngsters in communities of our partners are the indirect beneficiaries. They will benefit thanks to the empowerment of our participants who will further guide, lead and organise those youngsters in communities to get more active in interreligious dialogue for better inclusion and acceptance in society. We expect at least 220 youngsters being indirect beneficiaries of our project (20 per partner organisation and per local project as a follow-up of TC).

Among many obstacles on the path of WB countries joining the Union is also corruption. The latest Special Eurobarometer 470 shows that more than 60% of EU citizens think that corruption is present in their country; the corruption perception index shows a far bleaker picture for WB. Not only is corruption an impediment to joining the EU, it also has considerable impact on the economic sector, society and individuals. Thus the consortium designed “Fighting Corruption — Expanding the Union” — a project that uses a bottom-up approach to tackling corruption through educating youth workers (from the EU and WB), designing a toolkit and developing non-formal education methods, through which youth workers from partner countries will empower youth to address cases of corruption. The consortium includes 11 organisations from 10 countries (5 from the EU and 5 from WB)Fighting corruption is a crucial priority both in EU28 and WB countries. The majority of initiatives targeting corruption are aimed at decision makers and are thus distinctly top-down in character. While these initiatives are crucial in establishing rule of law, they often overlook the fact that corruption is entrenched in culture and the most effective long-term strategy for fighting it is to make it culturally unacceptable. And in this young people are the key target group — they are the future leaders, entrepreneurs and civil society actors.Objectives:- Increase the level and intensity of cooperation between programme countries and partner countries from WB. Related to this is also the long-term aim of creating a robust youth anti-corruption platform focused on the WB but working with a decidedly inter-regional and trans-sectoral perspective.- Increase the capacities of youth organisations based in WB.- Increase the competences of youth workers in WB, the EU and beyond.- Educate youth about recognising, reporting and fighting corruption.- Establish the image of the EU as a supranational entity taking a stand against corrupt practices.- Design a toolkit for educating youth about corruption.- Educate the general public about corruption in their country and ways of opposing it.Activities: - 2 transnational project meetings- 3 mobilities of youth workers (at least 22 participants per activity)- 1 youth exchange (at least 50 participants)Outputs:- toolkit- 3 webinars- webpage- 5 cultural events / public interventions- 4 press conferences- 1 conference

As participants, youngsters with different backgrounds, a safe learning environment will be created and a unique opportunity for everyone to share ideas and learn from others' experiences to see which is the best way to fight exclusion. They start from their own experience, and the methods used are very interactive: art performances, work in teams and pairs, individual reflection, debate, role play, negotiation, and simulation. The presented art performance will provide participants the opportunities to learn how to be tolerant of others and how to behave in conflict situations in multi-ethnic/ multicultural communities. The project has the following objectives:• to make the 48 participants aware of their personal and cultural identity;• to make the 48 participants recognize prejudice and all forms of discrimination;• to develop empathy, critical thinking, and communication skills of the 48 youngsters;• to make the 48 participants develop actions that fight discrimination;• to enable the 48 participants to use art as a tool for education, communication, and affirmationWith the project objectives, we are aiming to empower the participants, youngsters from Poland, Spain, Ireland, Montenegro, Georgia, Ukraine, Tunisia, and Turkey, and enable them to:• speak in front of groups in public spaces• be more aware of discrimination and prejudices in their everyday life, the local community, and the society they live in• better understand other youth groups in their community, especially youngsters from rural areas, youngsters with different sexual orientations, minorities, or youngsters from poor families.• use art as a tool to fight discrimination,• understand and accept easier the intercultural differences from the community where they are living• become promoters of tolerance, understanding, and human rights.<< Implementation >>The project ""Together Against Discrimination"" will gather 48 participants from Poland, Spain, Ireland, Montenegro, Georgia, Ukraine, Tunisia, and Turkey - 6 from each country. Participants will be 18-23 years old. 50% of participants are youngsters with fewer opportunities.Participants will represent different groups: youngsters with different sexual orientations, minorities, and youth from rural and urban disadvantaged environments of the eight countries. ""Together Against Discrimination"" consists of 2 mobilities that promote tolerance and understanding, using art performance as the main working method: Preparatory Visit and Youth Exchange. This youth exchange promotes the active participation of young people because the proposed methodology is based on the principles of non-formal education. The participants will learn how to present their culture, how to meet, accept, and share their respect towards other cultures and characters, to show an interest in cooperation and communication with young people from other European countries.<< Results >>The result of this project will be an art performance to be presented to the public in Poland, and youngsters from all project countries will be encouraged to introduce the performance to their peers from the local community. The art performance will promote tolerance, understanding, and cooperation among young people in the eight countries between different disadvantaged groups. At the personal level, the youngsters will gain a lot of new knowledge and skills, will make new friends and what is more important will build relations with people from 8 different countries which can lead to new meetings and organized activities in the future. Also, they will be put in the situation to understand how people that are being discriminated against by intention or not are feeling to understand this phenomenon better. The participants, after this exchange, will become more tolerant and open.At the organizational level, this exchange will increase the capacity of the partner NGOs in working on international projects on one side and in working with youngsters by using artistic methods. This ranges from large scale ongoing protests in Serbia and Bosnia, increasing tensions over borders, trade disputes and the closing of markets and unsanctioned violence against journalist. All of these factors pose significant impediments to the economy, democratic processes, the wellbeing of individuals and also to the process of joining the EU. One of the key underlying reasons behind the tensions plaguing WB is an ever-increasing torrent of nationalism that characterizes local and regional politics and the relations between neighboring countries. Extremism based on national, ethnical or religious background is one of the most evident destabilizing factors both in the EU and in the WB. Thus, the consortium designed Understanding and Challenging Nationalist Extremism — a project that uses a bottom-up approach to tackling nationalist extremisms through educating youth workers (from the EU and WB), designing a toolkit and developing non-formal education methods, through which youth workers from partner countries will empower youth to address cases of extremism. Many large-scale top-down initiatives overlook the fact that virulent nationalism is entrenched in culture and the most effective long-term strategy for diminishing it is to make it culturally less acceptable and for this to succeed, the key target group is youth. The consortium includes 11 organisations from 10 countries coming from the EU and neighboring regions.Objectives:- Increase the level and intensity of cooperation between programme countries and partner countries from WB. - Create a robust youth anti-extremism platform focused on the WB but working with a decidedly inter-regional and trans-sectoral perspective- Increase the capacities of youth organisations based in WB.- Increase the competences of youth workers in WB, the EU and beyond.- Educate youth about recognizing and opposing extremism.- Design a toolkit for educating youth about nationalist extremism and enable youth leaders to better do this.Activities: - 2 transnational project meetings- 3 mobilities of youth workers (at least 24 participants per activity)- 1 youth exchange (at least 58 participants)Outputs:- toolkit- 1 international conference- 3 webinars- webpage- 5 cultural events / public interventions- 4 press conferences
