Context/background of project; This International Peace Camp is the first to be hosted in Northern Ireland and is completely original and innovative due to the partner counties who will be involved. All of the partner counties involved have at some stage been involved in some element of conflict both in the past and also presently. This project will act as an advocate for promoting and strengthening positive international relations by bringing groups together in this way gives them the opportunity to reflect on their differences. With Northern Ireland emerging from its own 'Troubles' we feel we are best placed to host this a camp. To our knowledge no such camp has ever taken place in the North of Ireland. Objectives of your project; Many objectives of this project are based on building positive international relations while promoting personal and transnational citizenship. The exchanging of values and cultures will help to address myths and prejudices that others may have gained through social media or other outlets. The counties involved in this at some stage in their history have been involved directly or non directly in political or areas of social conflict. This International Peace camp is specific to those countries with the aim that this can be used as an educational experience and act as a tool for sharing and discussing cultural and personal similarities and differences. The project will draw on their life experiences engaging them in conversations about their identity, cultural expression, life experiences and future motivations. Number and profile of participants; The young people involved will range in age from 14-17 years and will be both male and female. Methodology to be used in carrying out the project; A short description of the results and impact envisaged and finally the potential longer term benefits. Young people involved in the programme will benefit from an increased levels of self confidence, new knowledge of different of culture traditions, sharing of good practice between organizations, rest-bite for young people who come from violent and conflicting counties The project fosters young people's sense of global Citizenship in particular. The project encourages learning on a global dimension through learning about each other's history and culture and that of their countries of origin. The project will enable young people to explore and contrast the different approaches to cultural identity within partner countries. The project will hopefully help challenge young people's perspectives of other cultures and therefore begin to see the impact of racism and xenophobia. The project will enable the young people to see common concerns they have coming from each of their backgrounds and experiences as young people. The project will instill in the young people the needs of other small ethnic communities who are alienated within their countries and the EU and how learning about each other and building friendships can address this. The young people throughout the camp will be challenged both mentally and physically through activities and workshops that have been designed to be fun but thought provoking. They will explore different traditions, foods and other cultures ways of life through culture nights hosted by each country which will include traditional music, dance, food, song, history and musical instruments.

"OUR GOLD involved 7 countries and 68 young people in a series of meetings and workshops to discuss issues related to religion phobia, by hate speech to stereotypes and common considerations that leaked through the information - disinformation by media. The exchange has seen two phases: the first in Italy and the second in Tunisia and it involved journalists, an Italian senator, a minister at Tunisian Parliament, a Tunisian philosopher, the Imam in Napoli , educators, cultural mediators, lawyers and young migrants as testimonials on discussion table. The main objective of this Youth Exchange was based on ""No hate speech"" movement at Council of Europe to create suitable tools to break down prejudices, raising public awareness on issues related to minorities, to empower youth to gain awareness and competences regarding the inclusion of young people with different beliefs into their community and a critical thought process about media pressure. Some specific objectives were: 1. Identify and reflect on religious topics related to minorities; 2. Provide participants by tools to develop new criteria of ""reception"" as opposed to the logic dictated by the mass media; 3. Invite to develop communication tools for young people; 4. Promote active and critical thinking toward controversial issues related to religion, faith, and culture behaviour5. Create project ideas for future cooperation."

"The project ""Gender Unpon a Time II"" aimed at supporting the development of inclusive groups, communities and larger societies towards acceptance of diversity, especially themes related to gender roles and expression. Culturally and historically defined traditional gender roles, can threaten free expressions of one’s gender identity, provoking possible exclusion and discrimination of people who reject these roles, at the same time blaming people who identify with traditional gender roles. Therefore, the main aim of the project has been to provide participants with processes of exchange and confrontational occasions among different cultures, in order to raise awareness on the socially constructed nature of traditional gender roles. Our aim has been achieved by using non-formal education methodologies. The specific objectives were:-to create a safe space of exchange and discussion to raise awareness and gain knowledge about other cultures and other countries, developing active participation and citizenship (through getting to know each other activities, team-building and group work);-to deepen concepts related to gender roles and expression (through group work and presentations or expert input such as the gender bread kit);-to recognize and deconstruct stereotypes, prejudices and discrimination about gender and sexual identity (through simulations, group work and expert input);-to use theatrical tools and methodologies to enforce one’s empathetic attitude (through embodied learning, spacial awareness, voice exercises);-to share similarities and differences of the social construction process of traditional gender roles (through group work, presentations and theatrical tools);-to spread knowledge of the Erasmus+ program (through expert input, group work and presentations). The project hosted 2 activities with in total 44 participants. More in detail the young people were: aged between 19 and 30, interested in gender related topics and to experience an intercultural exchange, willing to try to communicate in English and motivated to become multipliers for the outcomes of the exchange. The group leaders, were: aged between 25 and 37, active an non-profit organisation and/or the local community, interested to promote the general topic, able to communicate and provide language support in English and able to participate in both activities. The project activities were:-an Advanced Planning Visit held in Noordwijk aan Zee, which gathered the group leaders representing the partners and a youngster from their respective communities, participants who were already involved in the development of Gender Upon a Time from an early stage. The APV took place between the 11-14th of February 2018 and aimed at analyzing the local and national contexts of the youngsters, the partner NGOs and the competences and expertise present in order to fine tune the full exchange programme and remaining tasks. -a ten-day Youth Exchange held in Alpignano from the 5-14th of April 2018 which aimed at reflecting on traditional gender roles in Europe and the Mediterranean area, raising awareness on their socio-cultural nature, in order to deconstruct the idea that they are intrinsic. The participants got a chance to reflect on their own position in relation to traditional gender roles and discovered new tools to express themselves and create outcomes through non-formal methods using creative expression and storytelling. The organised activities have been participant centered. Working methods were varied and interactive in order to ensure a good educational flow and a balanced programme. Impact and benefitsThe direct beneficiaries of the activities were the participants, especially the group leaders and youngsters who took part in the APV. They were able to take part in an e-course on training and facilitation as preparatory activity leading up to the exchange. At least 10 participants were able to acquire and improve various educational methods and tools in a structured way. All participants have had an opportunity to experience non-formal education with youngsters coming from different countries and different cultural backgrounds. Enabling them to gain awareness, new perspectives and competences on sensitive topics. The process enforced their empathetic attitude and formed a first step for some and a continuation of others to their personal growth and their attitude as active citizens. Also offering participants a real and fair 'getting to know' of a part of the world that has an distorted image in the media. The personal stories and experiences also contribute to less friction between people from these different worlds and gives all of us alternative, less radical ideas and a story to share and spread. Using our tools and best practices to multiply our core message in activities, events and meetings in various local communities in the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Italy, Palestine and Jordan."

CONTEXT A right is a claim which is justified. Human Rights, however, are “super claims” with a difference; they are not depending on promises or guarantees by another person. The right to live of someone doesn’t depend on the promises of someone else not to kill him or her: his/her life may depend on it but not his/her right to live. The right to live of this person depends only on one thing: his status of human being. Having a look on our own personal stories, walking in the street, reading or watching the news, exchanging with our close people, meeting new persons … there are so many moments and spaces where each of us have to face situations that we find not fair, not nice, not acceptable. On the 10th of December 1948, the General Assembly adopted The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), which was drawn up by the UN Commission on Human Rights. Human rights exist for all of us. So how can we make use of them? It is clear that their existence is not enough to put an end to human rights violations, since we all know that these are committed every day, in every part of the globe. So can they really make a difference? How can we use them? More and more, we want to focus on this issue, on the fact that Human Rights violations are happening everywhere and as Youth organisations, we want to support youth to fight against it, by learning the Human Rights, getting to know what it is, its history and context. OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING COURSE The main objective of this Training Course is to develop youth worker’s knowledge, tools and competences in key concepts on Human Rights Education with young people and prepare them to the setting of activities on the Human Right topic. Specific objectives for this Training Course are: - Raising awareness of Youth workers on the need of implementing Human Rights Education activities with the Youth by discovering its history and practicing workshops in a non-formal learning setting - Giving the space for youth workers to exchange on their working context, experiences and challenges addressing the Human Right … - Provide participants with useful materials which will support them to develop further actions (stickers, posters, activity toolbox) - Reviewing the evaluation of Human Rights education in Europe, and the present challenges that it faces. METHOD The training method was focusing on non-formal education approach and, therefore, participative methods will be used: ice-breakers, role playing games, thematic discussions combined with specialization moments, practical workshops (role playing games and intercultural games), local projects visits, case studies, group reflexions, team and collective discussions. Participants will be driven to play an active role in their learning process, which will give them the possibilities to get competences and awareness methods, in order for them to handle them for European projects but also in their daily life. DATE, PLACE AND ACCOMODATION This training will take place from the 15th to the 23th of October 2017, in Le Mans (Pays de la Loire in France region). Participants were accommodated in a collective hosting center, Le Gué Bernisson, situated in the middle of a popular district, just a few paths to the office of Concordia. Training Activities were at the same place and the lunch were taken at the Youth Workers Center Le Relais, Concordia Partner, situated 10min by tramway to the living place. PROJECT PARTNERS COUNTRIES AND NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS 6 countries were partners for this project: France (hosting and coordinating of the project), Palestine, Jordan, Italy, Greece and Estonia. Italia has not been represented finally. We hosted 4 jordianians, 4 palestinians, 3 estonians, 4 grecs and 7 french people (including the trainers).
