The youth exchange between German, Belarussian, Ukrainian and Romanian young people aims at strengthening the digital competences of the target group by sensitizing them to security and transparency related issues when working in the NGO sphere.Since youth initiatives and organizations often use free software for data administration, online data management and PR, these sources can be affected by security issues. Since the law is different in every country, data safety and the rights to personal data has to be considered carefully especially in international projects.Transparency as the second main topic of the camp focusses on the importance of a democratic and transparent way of working that NGOs have to observe in order to gain trust, credibility and constitute an example for public and private institutions alike. This project targets young people interested in getting involved in an initiative, project or initiative their own activity concerning social issues, environment or culture. They should be interested in intercultural exchange and to learn from their international peers. They are interested in new technology, IT, online tools for youth work and projects and want to learn more about security issues and data safety when organizing international projects together. The programme of the youth camp will consist of input, exchange, exercises around these two topical spheres, combined with an intercultural approach to learning. Participants will have the chance to get to know not only insight into the topics but learn about the countries and places the others are from and experience the chances of non-formal learning in an international context. The participants of the event will have gained significant knowledge and competences in the field of on-line tools for project management and data administration. They will be sensitized to the importance of transparency and how a transparent way of working can help their projects and initiatives. They will understand the legal aspects of data security and the different ways each country handles these questions. They will also understand which tools can be safe to use in more extreme situations of state control. On the other hand, participants will have improved interpersonal skills regarding intercultural communicaation, listening, observing, working and learning in a team. Furthermore they will gain or enhance their appreciation of diversity.

The project "Joint Exchanges Network" is aimed at the creation of a network of organizations for the development of international high-quality youth exchange projects. The project involved 17 partner organizations and consists of two main activities: a Partnership Building Activity and a Training Course. The idea of the project came from all the partners, who really want to strengthen the partnership among the organizations working in international youth mobility. The main objective of the project was to create a network in which organizations collaborate with well-known partners and in a clear and shared frame-work. In this way it will be possible to facilitate the involvement of the youngsters in the management of exchanges designed by young people for young people, based on peer-to-peer education and thought to develop soft skills that promote employability. In the PBA from the 6th to the 10th of March 2015, 17 coordinators of youth exchanges/presidents of the partner organizations will reinforce the relation among the organisations, will establish quality standards for common projects and will create the Joint Exchange Network, JEN.

THEATRE OF THE GIRAFFE is an international project developing competencies of 24 youth workers coming from 12 European countries (Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Estonia, Romania, Bulgaria, former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, Slovenia, Italy, Spain, France, Portugal) to communicate in a non-violent way – acknowledging own and others’ needs, recognising and expressing emotions, building peaceful relations with young people, and co-workers. The aim of the project is to prepare youth leaders, trainers, project coordinators, to deal with situations of conflict or misunderstanding in their work environment, where reaching a compromise is needed for common good and growth. As much as conflicts are natural for human relations, our concern is not to let them threaten the basic sense of safety, when a person feels their needs are endangered, which might lead to violent defensive reactions. Those competencies to be in contact with own needs, and communicate them to others, are especially valuable working with multinational and cross-cultural groups, youth at risk, migrants, where backgrounds, contexts and understandings, which are shaping the strategies to meet the needs, might be so different from one another, thus leading to frustration in the communication process and coexistence. We ask questions: Which are the resources of a youth worker to live peace and build a peaceful community? Which communication strategies work when acting in a conflict situation towards a peaceful and constructive solution? The THEATRE OF THE GIRAFFE Training Course aims to have impact in two main areas: * develop emphatic attitude, by building a group ready to support each other, where participants will share their challenges, contact with their emotions and needs, go through experienced frustrations, and approach them as a resource for learning * improve/ acquire knowledge and skills in nonviolent communication elements and tools to deal with similar situations in the future. Name of the project comes from two methods which inspired us to develop the idea, and are the main methodologies upon which has been constructed the programme for the activity of the project. THEATRE refers to Theatre of the Oppressed and applied drama methodology, created by Augusto Boal, a theatre director, and community and social activist. GIRAFFE refers to emphatic communication language – called the language of giraffe, from Nonviolent Communication method by Marshall Rosenberg, a psychologist and mediator. Project results will be disseminated among local youth of the participating organisations, other youth workers, and other individuals who might be interested in discovering the method of Nonviolent Communication and its potential benefits for their personal and professional situation.
