They should have the opportunity to express their needs and to find ways of satisfying them. Although it is undoubtedly a problem that young people are increasingly failing to vote in elections, there are some studies which indicate that participation in different forms may actually be on the increase, for example, pressure groups, civic initiatives, consultative organs, and so on. These forms of participation are just as important to the effective functioning of democracy as voter turnout at elections, if not more so. That’s why we see CIVIC MONITORING as a tool for active participation. Civic monitoring is monitoring led by citizens and civil society actors; process of public scrutiny of public interest issues and political and economic power center. Main aim of this project is to empower youth workers to use Civic Monitoring as a tool in order to support and motivate young people for active involvement through the following specific objectives: *to raise awareness of importance of active involvement*to understand the relation between lack of information and low level of participation among young people*to explore broader understanding of citizenship. To be able to provide young people these forms of participation, youth work is an essential part of it. Youth workers need to be educated and skilled to be able to monitor and educate young people on different forms of participation.<< Implementation >>Through the project we will carry out the activity of Mobility of Youth Workers) for 27 participants from a total of 9 countries: Croatia, Latvia, Georgia, Ukraine, Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Spain and Portugal. There will also be 2 trainers and 1 facilitator from the applicant organisation. The training will be held in the municipality of Žumberak (a member of LAG Vallis Colapis) from September 16-23 2022. under the assumption that the epidemiological situation allows it. During the activity, different methods of non-formal education will be used. Participants in the training course will be youth workers from partner organizations as their employees, members, volunteers or associates. There will be 3 participants from each country, who are already working with young people in local communities and who need more knowledge, skills and support in the field of active citizenship and also who need new tools for their everyday work. Participants will need to be of legal age (with no upper age limit) but in the case, we will have a 17-year-old motivated participant, we will accept him with the obligatory parental consent.People with fewer opportunities (with geographical and economic obstacles) will also participate in the activity. By participating in this project they will get the experience that they will be able to present to potential employers in the field of youth (civil society organisations), and will also be able to consider self-employment. After the training course is finished, participants will continue to cooperate with partner organisations in the field of CIVIC monitoring which will contribute to the sustainability of project results and strengthening of organisations in work with youth people.<< Results >>As the main result, we will present the CIVIC monitoring tool for youth workers and young people that they will be able to use in their daily work. Non-formal methods in the field of active participation for youth workers and young people, which we will present with the aim of strengthening the knowledge, skills and opportunities of young people’s participation. The result will also be the fact that through this project 27 youth workers will be trained and a total of 9 organizations that improved and strengthened their capacities in the CIVIC monitoring field. The impact of the project will not only remain on the participants, but the participants will use their acquired knowledge through exchange of experiences, tools, knowledge with other youth workers, and will also transfer what has been learned to young people, but also within their private relationships - partner, family, friends - to other people with whom they are in daily contact. Participants will be able to strengthen and increase the quality of learned tools and methods and improved competencies, the life of their own local community through:-transfer of acquired knowledge to other youth workers and young people - participants will hold a presentation of the project in their local community after the training, including the values that the project promotes. - practical use of the tool: measuring participation of young peopleAt the local level and regional level, the follow-up foresees the realization of local workshops and activities to empower youth workers in working with local youth. Competences gained and shared during the training course and after it, will support young people in their quest of active involvement or on becoming more self - aware of their strengths, capacities, and goals. The participants could decide to adopt the methods and tools to the local needs or they could create new tools taking inspiration from them. The project is also a great opportunity for many more stakeholders who can be involved in the project (other associations, individuals, joint activities, etc.). It should bring new energy for the community, i.e. new content in the community and it raises the possibility to start some new initiatives after this project on the principle (""this is a great idea, we can do that as well"").The desired effect at the national level is a greater influence on decision-making bodies, a membership in networks / associations dealing with inclusion, implementation of initiatives at the national level in accordance with the theme and tools of the project, participation in the development of strategies At the European level it will contribute to a greater opportunity to apply for new projects to the EU program and funds, to inclusion in international networks. It will raise the visibility of the project by publishing on the Erasmus + dissemination platform, the desired effect is that as many organizations as possible see our project and get acquainted with activities as well as to be their inspiration for further work.Besides the competences of participants, the project strives to strengthen capacities of every partner organisation and increase the visibility of partner organisation's work, which adds to the visibility of the whole civil society work. International projects are a window to the world (especially for the applicant organisation), while for partner local communities impact is expected through dissemination, promotion and local activities. Moreover, considering the profile and the experience obtained from the project’ fields by the vast majority of the partner organizations, the follow-up phase will be of extreme importance in our case because of the implementation of a new tool, Civic monitoring. This training course will improve the partnership between each partner and applicant organization, as well as among each other in order to create a stable partnership platform for implementing projects within the field of work of each organisation. As well as on the local level, it brings the opportunity for regional level stakeholders to be involved in the project."

The first is the current challenges some young people in difficulties are facing: unemployment, educational failure, lack of reference, social and economic barriers jeopardizing their inclusion in the professional and educational worlds. The second observation related to the current environmental issue, and the need for sustainable agriculture to be a driver in the fight against climate change. To succeed in this transition, organic agriculture and agroecology need more human labour but few people turn to these professions. So, on one side there are young people who are Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET) and suffer a deep lack of reference and on the other side there are many job opportunities in the sustainable agricultural sector. This project aims to address the needs of NEET young people which entails to reconnect with a professional environment where they can learn and gain confidence in a safe place. This project also addresses the needs of rural areas that lack dynamism and are little valued altogether with the farmers’ needs to connect with young people to pass on their skills and knowledge and to make their agricultural enterprises more sustainable. But above all it considers the youth workers needs to have specific tools adapted to the needs of NEET young people in order to better support them. More precisely, tools to accompany them towards novel jobs in the field of sustainable and social farming and successfully increase their employability. All these needs will be addressed in a social agriculture Erasmus+ project: PROPAGRI.<< Objectives >>The overall objective of this project is to strengthen employability of NEET young people into the agricultural world through the development of an innovating training targeting youth workers and trainers. This will be reached through the following specific objectives:-Provide tools to youth workers to increase the awareness of NEET young people about the opportunities offered by sustainable agricultural professions.-Develop an innovative training which provides young people with basic skills and knowledge in organic and/or environmental-friendly farming techniques tackling climate change.-Increase the attractiveness of the farming sector and ensure sufficient working capacities for sustainable farming development in Europe.-Increase the interest and ability of farmers to welcome and teach NEET young people sustainable farming techniques and knowledge.<< Implementation >>The activities of the project are structured around the production of the 4 project results:PR1- The first project result consists in developing material for the theoretical part of the training. The activities will be to specify and produce the pedagogical framework and the theoretical content and then to experiment the courses in France, Italy and Germany with a group of 15 NEET people per country.PR2- The second set of activities aims at creating an online matching platform in order to promote the meeting between NEET young people and farmers based on matching criteria.PR3- The following activities consists in the development and implementation of guideline to support youth workers in the setting up of small internships to allows young people to discover the farm life for 5 days. A training session for farmers will be developed and tested with 5 farmers in France, Italy and Germany each. Farmers will then welcome 15 NEET young people on their farms to experiment the small internships.PR4- This novel training will be concluded by an orientation workshop, testing tailor-made tools for youth workers to accompany NEET young people towards sustainable agricultural jobs. All these activities aim to implement the whole training destined to youth workers, which is expected to fit with young people and farmers’ needs.<< Results >>This project will produce some tangible results which are:-Theoretical training material: a written and visual material which is the support for theoretical courses on sustainable agriculture and its linkage with the environment and climate change.-Matching platform: an online platform to connect young people and farmers, which will remain available at least 5 years after the end of the project.-Practical training guidelines: a guide containing all the necessary information to implement small practical internships of young people hosted by farmers.-Orientation toolkit: a set of tools to implement a powerful orientation workshop and solid guidance follow-up of the young people. The PROPAGRI project implements a training with guidance materials that will be reused and reappropriated by social workers and trainers working with NEET young people all around Europe. It will allows the project partners and then stakeholders from both the social and agricultural worlds to develop their skills in social farming.

Although youth unemployment rates in EU countries in February 2020 (14.9%) improved compared to 2019 in the same month (15.5%), due to the COVID crisis it has increased again to the 17,1%. Moreover, they are still very high compared to the adults' unemployment rate according to the last figures released by European Union, 8,1% (March 2021).Regarding its distribution by country, in Spain it has become one of the most important problems in terms of employment policy since we are the country with the highest unemployment rate, 37.7%. As for the rest of the countries that make up the consortium, their rates are also high: Italy 33%, Portugal 23%, and France 19.5%, (March 2021). In addition, the distribution of this unemployment rate at the national level shows differences depending on the regions. Obviously, due to the concentration of the population in large urban areas, these show higher unemployment rates. However, in rural and insular areas there is also a similar behavior, being highly difficult for young people to access the labor market given the relocation of the industry close to large urban centers.Taking these figures into account, FLY2WORK will face different needs depending on each target group:- Currently, the high youth unemployment rate is a very discouraging problem new generations have to face. Besides, the quality of jobs they get is low and not very long-lasting. Youngsters need to find jobs that enable them to have a fully independent adult life- Youngsters and companies need to transform the adaptation period into a more effective process, an opportunity to learn from each other instead of an unproductive needed period for both sides.- Social organisations need new tools that they could offer to companies to encourage them to hire youngsters and also to youngsters to help them to get their first opportunity.- Academia needs to offer their students those soft skills requested to have a good career.- Public Administrations and authorities need more practical tools that help them to stop this problem and change the trend.<< Objectives >>Fly2Work aims at fostering youth employability by creating a methodology jointly with a set of tools and good practices that will help companies and, in general, all sorts of employers (social enterprises, foundations, associations, etc.) to design good onboarding plans adapted to their own needs. This way we want to contribute to the solution of the current situation by helping to create better jobs for youngsters in terms of quality, durability, and stability. Our specific objectives are:1. To improve youngsters' employability. At the end of the project, we will have a methodology ready to be implemented in every organisation in Europe willing to improve their processes of hiring young people, improving their employability.2. To encourage employers to hire youngs by providing tools that help them to design good onboarding plans. A practical set of tools will be developed enabling youngsters to adapt better and in a short time to the work environment and encourage employers to give youngsters their first opportunity. 3. Help companies to retain talent. 4. Reduce the gap between the expectations of youngsters regarding work life and what it is in reality. A practical set of tools will be developed enabling youngsters to adapt better and in a short time to the work environment and encourage employers to give youngsters their first opportunity.5. To involve public administrations at a more practical and ""close to the reality"" level. The inclusion of all stakeholders in the equation will promote the social dialogue that will lead to a set of experiences, best practices, success stories, and materials that will help administrations to elaborate more practical and focused instruments.<< Implementation >>The activities planned are:1. Conduct field research to establish the state of the art of unemployment youth situation and to generate a practical and easy-to-use methodology for those organisations that wanted to do it themselves.2. Establish a direct and practical way of working with local public authorities in the field of youth employment to better know their needs and to create a common space of dialogue for exchanging experiences and knowledge.3. Elaborate a practical boarding handbook based on our own methodological approach.4. Finally, create an online digital course in order to maximise the impact of the project and get the interest of relevan stakeholders.<< Results >>We have divided the outcomes of the project between those that are tangible and intangible.1) TANGIBLE: - PROJECT RESULTS. Fly2Work is structured in 4 project results:PR1. Toolbox for identification of needs.PR2. Social Dialogue Roadmap.PR3. Handbook onboarding plans methodology, training materials, and KPIs.PR4. This will lead to increases in youth participation level and show the youth that their voices can be heard and they are an extremely important part of society. UNICEF has adopted the rights-based approach to children and young people, viewing participation as a human right and an end itself. Participation matters for its own sake, regardless of measurable or demonstrated benefits for various groups or purposes. Additionally, participation is recognized by UNICEF as integral to the democratic ethos and to building a civil societyThis project will consist of two training courses and a local stage between them. The first TC will explore the methodology of storytelling and the second one creation of comics During the “homework” stage, the participants will need to organize the workshop for target groups they work with and present the information about the project and storytelling We have chosen the art of comics and storytelling because it's popular, creative, and contemporary and because it's able to relate the imaginary (desires and aspirations) and tell the present (reality made of diversity), thus stimulating young people to reflect and to communicate their needs, visions, and potentials. Youngsters, and people in general, are greatly attracted by the powers of a good story. By understanding these methods better and exploring how they can use them in youth work, the participants of the LTTC will be able to address and connect with their target group much better, being also able to develop activities that are more successful and can ensure a lasting impact on their territories. Moreover, this approach can be used as offline as online, which is extremely relevant to our “new reality” After the LTTC, the youth workers will be able to work with their target group, using methods of storytelling and comics as “face-to-face” activities as online ones By the end of the project, participants will create their comics, which will be presented at the exhibition and then published and share on social media to raise awareness about the importance of youth participation and promote the results of the project.<< Implementation >>The LTTC is consists of three parts – TCs and homework (local stage). Both of TCs will take place in Ivancice, the Czech Republic and will include 7 working days and two travel days. The first TC will be a 7-day training course, aimed to increase the competences of youth workers in using storytelling as a tool to reach, motivate and inspire young people. The activity will address the need for further professional development of the youth workers and enhancement of the communication between young people and youth workers. It will offer storytelling as a way to overcome personal barriers and become storytellers. The second activity will be seven days training course, which is a continuation of the first part, but it will be focused on exploring the topic of comics as an effective and creative tool of youth work and a way to involve and activate young people at risk of social exclusion or segregation in the initiatives and training activities dedicated to them. After the first TC, participants will have the “Homework” stage, during which they will need to organize the workshop for target groups they work with and present the information about the project and storytelling itself Together with the participants of the workshop, they will need to create a story or stories addressing some social issues, using the competencies, which they had gained during the Activity 1 The story can be presented in different formats (written, video, photos and etc.) This story (s) the participants will bring to the Activity 2In each TC will participate, 28 youth leaders, youth workers dealing with young people, staff from NGOs, and educators from 12 countries ((The Czech Republic, Germany, Russia, Greece, Latvia, Cyprus, Ukraine, Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Italy, and Hungary). We expect that the same participants will take part in all the activities.
