The socio-economic characteristics of many students represents a challenge in promoting a European wide awareness that can support wider employability. Staff are focused on the student experience and benefit from networking and applying different pedagogical approaches. The SHARE project helps to change lives through unique opportunities to exchange vocational experience and transfer cultural awareness across twelve partner organisations. For many participants this European adventure is the opportunity to travel abroad and experience the European added value of being hosted and introduced to activities that develop vocational skills or pedagogical approaches which support students’ project objectives related to:• Employability• Qualification attainment• Personal awareness, experience and communication skills. Staff participating will benefit from a wider European network of colleagues which will enable further action research developments; transferring vocational related good practice between partners; and contributing to Bridgwater College's ambition to be 'world class'.The project provides opportunities for participants to learn from work placements, training in vocational settings, work shadowing and cultural activities. The opportunity to participate in student mobility programmes will act as an incentive by offering students who might possibly have never ventured beyond their immediate environment, the opportunity to broaden their horizons and learn about education and career opportunities in other European countries. This mobility initiative is linked to our priorities for development supporting the College KA2 strategic partnerships and focus on Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Construction and Health and Social Care, where demand is not matched by the availability of a skilled workforce. In each of these vocational areas, Students participating in the programme will be working toward Level 3 or 4 qualifications either through their College based/work based or Apprenticeship pathways; this transnational mobility/work placement will be directly integrated into their study modules – this, using European tools of Europass and CV - will ensure greater impact and sustainability, improving students’ employability prospects. The students will be aged 18-24 and both male and female.Bridgwater College is one of the most successful colleges in the UK, across a wide range of curriculum including VET provision. An identified gap, which the SHARE project helps to narrow, is awareness and positive embracement of the wider European experience. Many of the 44 students and some of the 22 staff involved in the project will be first time travellers to partner organisations. In addition to achieving the specific objectives it is envisaged that the project will provide immediate positives for direct participants. It will also give longer term impact, as role modelling through dissemination activities will inspire future cohorts and groups of students and staff to engage with European partners. This will support further innovative and effective pedagogy and vocational education and training.

The planned implementation period of the project was 12 months. The mobility period for students was two to three weeks and for teachers one to two weeks.Activities implemented during the project.Nine mobility activities were carried out within the framework of the project, during which professional skills and competences were developed for students of Jelgava Technical School (6 ""Auto mechanic"" qualification students, 10 ""Hospitality service"" qualification students, 4 ""Furniture carpenter"" qualification students, 4 ""Customer service specialist"" qualification students , 8 “Computer Systems Specialist” qualification students, 6 “Furniture carpenters” qualification students, 7 “Finishing works technician” qualification students), and nine educators. In frame of the project were necessary to organize and conduct the project-related activities. The project has provided an opportunity:1) to improve the quality of education programs and ensure the transferability of the acquired knowledge into the learning process reflected in the modular programs created, for example, in the academic year 2019/2020, new modular training programs have been introduced in two educational programs - 'Construction' and ""Administrative and Secretarial Services' - which integrate the insights learned in the frame of mobility. For example, mobility teachers suggested to involve companies in the practical training of students.2) to develop professional skills for students - the modular training system foresees the versatile application of the acquired knowledge and skills, because all vocational subjects are interconnected, therefore, the skills acquired during the mobility are reflected in the ability to successfully integrate into the modular training system and pass professional qualification exams.3) to develop professional competences for teachers - during mobility, teachers have the opportunity to demonstrate their professional skills and competences in the international area, as well as to learn good practice examples abroad. For example, by including new examples, new teaching methods in their lessons and diversifying the training process.3) Improve English language skills - in frame of mobility participants have improved their English skills as well as lowered the language barrier that had been created through prolonged lack of contact with other nationalities.4) Strengthen cooperation with project partners - there is close cooperation with all partners.By organized seminars as well as published information on the websites of the school and the partners involved in the project, students, educators and all interested groups were introduced with the experience learned from the mobility. The greatest experience was gained by students during mobility placements in companies. Auto mechanics students appreciated the opportunity to work with and learn from professionals in the industry. For the first time, young people applied car prints and took part in various repairs. The professional skills of the students were highly valued, as evidenced by the job opportunities offered, which, by raising self-esteem, will enable the students to integrate more successfully into the labor market. Hospitality and Customer Service students appreciated the opportunity to work in Italian restaurants and Lithuanian hotels, considering that there were significant differences in the specifics of the service in frame of different nationalities. The most valuable experience for IT students is the ability to work with various computer programs that are not available in our school, such as Photoshop. On the other hand, educators believe that it is most valuable to compare how training and practice is organized elsewhere in the world. Hospitality educators, for example, learned new table laying techniques, gained experience in cooking on the stage."
