Groups of 4 between 18 and 30 years old (participants) + one group leader from 7 countries with very different backgrounds meet in the Ukrainian Carpathian mountains for an 8 day lasting youth exchange in summer 2016. The organisations involved decided to organize this project during a partnership building activity that took place in Ukraine in June 2015. The venue is chosen due to its beautiful countryside and peacefulness. An APV will take place about 1,5 month before the exchange. The main objective of the project is to give the opportunity to build up friendships between the participating countries in order to strengthen tolerance and mutual understanding among participants and their social circles back home. The themes environmental protection and sustainability are used as vehicles to bring about intercultural understanding. The participants will realize a landart project together and do some upcycling. Both activities are designed to give space for creative expression, put into practice project management skills and strengthen group cohesiveness. To get in touch with the local community an intercultural dinner will be organized and locals invited to the hostel in which the participants stay during the exchange. Several activities for disseminating the project results will be realized by all project partners in order to secure a positive impact in all partner countries and at several societal levels.

"The partner consortium which created the project ""Let's Build a Better Future"" shares the conviction that Sports is a crucial tool to promote social and personal values such as team spirit, discipline, perseverance and fair play. Sport can also boost knowledge, motivation and skills. Taking into consideration the significant role that the work of the facilitators and trainers plays, providing participants with the theoretical framework, the skills and the evidence base to do their job effectively is vitally important for a sports activity implemented as a tool for education to have real and concrete value. We created the project ""Let's Build a Better Future"" because of our mutual understanding of the sports as a unique means of communication, which has the potential to support active learning, complement cognitive skills and give youngsters increasing amounts of responsibility and enhance their level of concentration and participation. The sport has the potential to provide mutual understanding among young people and the society in the EU member countries. The involved 40 young participants and 5 participating organizations in ""Let's Build a Better Future"" learnt how to use sport as an educational tool. During the project, we exchanged good practices in the field of sports for youth work. As a result of the project, each organization now has their participants being able to serve as multipliers of the message for a healthy lifestyle that we wanted to convey. Through implementing this projected, we managed to show to the young people that everyone should have equal access to sport, regardless of their experience, past and present skills. Participants: 40 participants from Ireland, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey. Activity 1: Youth Exchange Dates and Venue: 12-24 June 2018 in Varna (Bulgaria) Through implementing this project we achieved the following results:- we made participants understand what the sports values are and how to integrate them in their life - we empowered participants with knowledge on how to use sports as an educational tool - we enriched participants with the intercultural understanding and removed their stereotypes - we gave an opportunity for people with fewer opportunities to take part in activities promoted by European Youth Programmes - we made participants more aware of the importance of healthy and active living By following the principles of the non-formal education methodology and a combination of different creative and interactive methods used by the organising team and the facilitators, by adapting the program to the profile of participants and their needs, we managed to reach the objectives of the project set in the application phase. Our organisations build their capacities and now we are more confident to manage international projects. Through implementing ""Let's Build a Better Future"" the partners increased the level of knowledge, experience and realising new initiatives in the field of youth work. The project created new networks by building strong friendships. We used diverse outdoor and physical activities as learning methods, through which the participants received a broader and more in-depth understanding of the benefits of sports and their values. The impact of the project on the participants also was indicated by developing their skills through sport and physical activities. Participants in the project, with the help and support of leaders of the project, were encouraged to take follow-up activities in their communities to spread the influence of learning more, realising new ERASMUS + projects, presentations, conferences and other activities. The multiplying effect was first of all achieved by the participants of the project spreading the ideas they got from here and realising follow-up activities in their own countries."

“Entrepreneurial Lab” was a two-stage international youth exchange project, which gathered 42 young people from 5 countries (United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland and Turkey) and empowered them with entrepreneurial attitudes and mindset.Unemployment had been identified as a significant concern in Europe and beyond. Today’s world is marked by a widespread focus on economic development, technological advancement, and global integration. Yet, we still witness widespread unemployment, especially among young people who are left outside the prosperity loop and who find it more and more difficult to access ever-changing labour markets. The challenge of unemployment is even more severe among youth with fewer opportunities in rural and urban areas, where there is a lack of education and opportunity. Employability and being able to make your decent living is directly related to life fulfilment and personal independence. Young people in the vicious cycle of unemployment suffer from frustration, depression, low self-esteem and even aggression and cynicism. We believe that long-term solution to this problem lies not in externalities of macroeconomics or policy but in hearts and minds of young people. A renewed mindset is needed for young people to understand that even in the most difficult situations they have more control over their lives than they think and through entrepreneurial spirit, proactivity, creativity and strategic approach they can spot values, seize opportunities, assess and take calculated risks and grow. Instead of seeking a job, they can create one for themselves.Overall aims & Objectives:This two-stage Youth Exchange created a platform and a process where 42 young people were empowered and equipped to empower others in their communities through exchange of ideas, stories, attitudes, techniques, and tools that promote entrepreneurial spirit and skills of young people in general and young people with fewer opportunities in rural and urban areas in particular. One journey: 2 stages! The first stage took place in Bulgaria, where participants explored the subject, its challenges, and opportunities. In between the first and the second stage participants did a research and observation in their local communities to find useful insights and opportunities for value creation, entrepreneurship, and employability. The second stage of the exchange project, which took place in Hungary gathered insights, learning, inspirations and experience of participants from their local communities and translated them into concrete business ideas and quality youth projects to be carried out under Erasmus + Programme.Accomplished objectives of the first exchange:- The concept of unemployment was explored and a common understanding of youth employability was achieved.- Analysis of the current situation of young people, especially the youth with fewer opportunities in rural and urban areas and understanding their hopes, dreams fears and barriers to their personal development.- Explored obstacles and barriers to youth employability and ways to overcome them.- Participants identified innovative tools and best practices and methods which they transferred into working reality- Participants formed teams who did research and observation in their local communities after their return and found useful insights and opportunities for value creation, entrepreneurship, and employability.Accomplished objectives of the second exchange:- Gathered insights, learning, inspirations, and experience of participants from their local communities and translating them into concrete project ideas.- Participants were equipped with knowledge and skills in the field of project management and were enabled to develop quality youth projects. - Together with the participants we identified existing resources for the young entrepreneurs and shared know-how on social enterprises to link youth with business and entrepreneurship.- Erasmus + Programme was promoted and how young people could be involved in it was explained.- The participants developed concrete business ideas and entrepreneurial initiatives.- The participants developed concrete projects to be applied under Erasmus + Programme.- The participants developed and published an online catalogue of business ideas. The project activities were based on non-formal learning methods and principles, inter-cultural dialogue and communication in including group discussions, presentations, participants' lead workshops, teamwork, as 'out-of-school' programmes are important to provide flexible learning opportunities and new skills and knowledge to young people who are beyond the reach of formal education. Youthpass tool was used throughout the project to help young people regularly reflect on their learning journeys and become more aware of their learning. The methodology of the project stimulated active participation and sense of initiative and involvement of the learners.
