Different factors play important roles in producing social exclusion. Poor levels of education, experiencing discrimination, monetary poverty, unemployment, living in remote geographical areas, and experiences of juvenile delinquency, are often indicated as the main factors of youth social exclusion. Youth work plays an essential role in reaching and bringing together young people who face exclusion on a daily basis. The aims of the Training Course “Involve Everyone: Learning through Erasmus+”, which shall take place in Romania from September 18th-24th, 2016, are to increase the knowledge and skills of youth workers on topics of discrimination and social exclusion in the context of youth work in a non-formal framework. The aim is supported by the following objectives:- to facilitate involvement of 30 youth workers from Erasmus+ Program countries in the whole cycle of the project and ensure insure the feeling of commitment towards the project for 6 months - to raise knowledge of 30 youth workers in the topics social exclusion and discrimination and develop skills to address those issues through youth work- to provide participants with practical tools and methods to ensure inclusiveness of youth work and avoiding unwillingly discrimination- to raise awareness on participants about their selves and their roles as youth workers linked with discrimination in the social exclusion context- to empower participants to take action to reduce discrimination in their own lives and in society by sharing methods, tools and instruments to be incorporated in a methodology for approaching youth in fighting against social exclusion- to ensure participants pass through all stages of experiential learning and reflect of the learning outcomes through 8 Key Competencies model- to provide space for participants to share their experience and to develop long lasting partnershipsThe 28 participants selected for this seminar are:- determined to actively participate in sharing practices, examples, tools, methods and instruments around discrimination and social exclusion, which will be incorporated in the upcoming methodology on working with youth facing discrimination and social exclusion- willing and able to implement an innovative project after the project serving the needs of the organisation in their community-interested in the topic of the project-willing to share and implement new-gained knowledge within their sending organizations/institutions- professionals, youth workers, trainers working in the education field (formal and non-formal) willing to share their own experience- able to attend the full duration of the training- able to communicate and work in English language (B1 to C2, according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)- committed to disseminate the results within their organizations and to multiply the impact of the project by actively working with youth in their local communities- experienced in working directly with youthThe activities will be based on the principles and practice of non-formal education taking into account the participants’ needs, motivations and previous experiences as starting point of the programme. A diversity of working methods will be used for learning about discrimination and social exclusion: thinking together, brainstorming, creating new ideas, discussions, debates, simulations, etc. Also, the project will offer space for sharing the already existing methods, examples and answers that support discrimination and social exclusion projects and develop new Erasmus+ partnerships. Expected impact on youth workers involved in the project:- deepen their knowledge on social exclusion by self-awareness of using unawarely discrimination in their working environment- support the role of youth workers in social responsibility and anti-discrimination activities that contribute to living together in peace and foster dialogue between youth workers who promote the values of diversity in the community.- create and use a knowledge bag of non formal education tools and creating better life chances for those facing with obstacles. The project is expected to have strong impact on all the mentioned levels by sharing all the results. It will promote the values of respect, solidarity, inclusion, equality between participants coming from European countries. The aim is to make a change in youth’s life and in those working with them, to have some long-term impact in the society and to establish a well-working network of youth workers and their sending organizations interested in the topic. The project results shall activate participants to plan future projects as well.

Loesje e.V. is an organisation that constantly works on improvement conditions through empowerment, support, creative youth work and new possibilities for people, who come from vulnerable discriminated groups, as LGBTIQ* (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Inter* Queer* where the * includes all different identities) migrants, refugees, Roma, people with fewer opportunities. Following statistics, being in touch with the LGBTIQ* community we noticed the need of tools and methods for support and inclusion of the young LGBTIQ* people. After several meetings with the interested partners, we developed the project “Who is director of your gender role”, who aimed to equip youth workers, teachers, activists, organisations with creative tools and methods for empowerment and inclusion of the LGBTIQ* people. Through structured planning for participants we hosted people from the LGBTIQ* community and people who work with them to exchange information, learn from each other and create new tools and methods for empowerment and support of the LGBTIQ* community. We made a “reality check” from participating countries from the EU, Caucasus, the Balkans and MENA region in order to see differences, similarities and to find common ways of support. The objectives of this project were:- to raise awareness about the realities that LGBTIQ* face and the importance of their inclusion and empowerment- to learn and exchange different creative, innovative and digital tools and methods for quality youth work- to use Erasmus+ program as opportunity for active inclusion of LGBTIQ* youthThe special objective of this project is:- to suggest concrete strategies for activism<< Implementation >>Together with the partners that were selected for this project based on their needs, motivation, and geographic representation, we started to construct the entire application. All requirements and educational opportunities that correspond with the program's aims were taken into consideration. In the meanwhile, we often communicated with our partners online and collectively agreed on a variety of topics. After the project was accepted, we communicated about choosing the participants, the location, and the program.Following our agreement on many aspects, we created the infopack. All participating organisations selected their participation based on their requirements, some via online call and others internally inside their organisations. After two separate rounds of preparation, we had a group of enthusiastic youth workers, educators, activists. One preparation was from their respective organisations, and the other was from Loesje e.V. After making sure that the participants had access to all material, we again handled travel arrangements while taking into account all of the program's regulations. The implementation of young worker mobility was the next phase. We created an interactive program using non-formal teaching approaches and theoretical input. Participants also played an important role in the program by evaluating new sessions on the spot. We performed theoretical input for several topics and had in-depth conversations about them. The entire activity was through reflection and evaluation processes. We utilized YOUTHPASS as a tool for learning and reflection, and the Erasmus+ program as a platform for their future ideas. The participants shared realities from their countries, we spoke about Human Rights knowledge and violation, about discrimination. We paid quite lot of attention to LGBTIQ* terminology and understanding. Also in the program we had a guest speaker, who is an Arab gay man who migrated to Sweden due to the unacceptance and violence he faced in his country. He shared his experience but also the success story of finding a new home in another country. Participants had the opportunity to learn a variety of concepts, tools and methods, digital approaches, creative methodology through Loesje creative workshops, to create their own workshops and test it on the spot and with it to increase their organisations’ capacities. For us especially important is the evaluation and follow-up phase. In this phase, we evaluated the activity's results, the learners' learning outcomes, and the training program's effects on the organisations. After doing several assessments with the participants, we also conducted evaluations with all of the partners. They used various methods of disseminating the results, but we have a WhatsApp group where we are active, keeping each other informed about the activities we are currently carrying out and offering support to one another.<< Results >>The program was developed in 3 phases, theoretical input, practical knowledge and creating outputs that will serve as good practices. Through the workshops participants learned about the LGBTIQ* terminology, what kind of obstacles LGBTIQ* have around the regions, who supports them, where they can find help. We learned about the Universal Human Rights Declaration, the articles, and the participants became aware about discrimination and how we can fight it, online and offline. There were a lot of sensitive topics and moments, the participants learned to listen and accept each other, they practiced emotional intelligence and teamwork. All in all the participants became much more aware about the needs and the risks of the LGBTIQ* community.Posts and stories on social media:13 Instagram reels: video clips for up to 60 seconds, can be filmed with the phone or edited separately and posted on the profile page.16 Instagram stories: photos or videos lasting 24 hours that might include texts, animations, links. Privileges2. Integrating LGBTIQ+ refugees in western countries3. Bonding with secrets4. LGBTIQ+ terminologyOn many levels, this project had a significant influence. All partner organisations were inspired to participate, educate, acquire knowledge tools, and build specific abilities despite the pandemic, Ukrainian war, inflation, and other difficulties. On the one hand, the project coordinators acquired new abilities as a result of the requirement to implement risk management with regards to all project-related aspects. The organisations themselves hosted participants who returned with new knowledge and abilities to engage effectively with their youngsters on a daily basis, as well as workshops designed from scratch using those tools and methodologies. Because of the group's extreme variety, the participants developed a wide range of personal skills, including active listening, tolerance, understanding, sharing, and acceptance as well as mutual support and engagement. They also produced a great amount of visual content, engaged in a Loesje creative text writing process that encouraged critical thinking, and produced strong posters that are shown all over the world.

This care requires analysis and this activity aims to dedicate time, space and work so that the entities working in the youth field take care into account in a broad sense of the word, as part of the daily and structural work approach. It is a call for the sustainability of life and the planet, placing it at the center of all social, community, economic and political processes through the ethics of care. The main objective of this proposal is to improve the quality of youth work in Europe (and specifically in the participating organizations) by reviewing the functioning of the organizations, identifying the aspects that lead to inequalities and proposing tools for transformation. This proposal has the following specific objectives:To create a common concept of what we understand as care.To detect and make visible the structural inequalities within the organizations. To sensitize and empower all the agents of the entities to promote organizational change from the ethics of care.To promote the ethics of care, as well as inclusion and diversity in the organization. To diagnose in a participative way the state of the ethics of care and the perspective of equity in the organizations. To consult indicators and provide tools for daily work with young people. To allow youth workers to exchange and acquire professional competencies to work on care in all areas and projects of the participating organizations (approach, design, implementation...).To reduce barriers for people with fewer opportunities to participate in organizations on equal terms.Facilitate tools for change and the construction of the reality of youth work in which we wish to live.<< Implementation >>The project includes a 4-day seminar with a non-formal education methodology, the contents of which are:Values of the entityDecision-making (participation)Communication (conflicts, relationships and emotions)Distribution of tasks and responsibilitiesExpressions of power / leadershipPower relations (rank, privileges)Conciliation and co-responsibilitySymbolic, structural and relational violence, sexual harassment.Number and profile of organizations and participants: There are in total 8 participating organization: 3 organizations from different parts of Spain (Galicia, Murcia and Castilla y León) (1 applicant and 2 participants) and 5 organizations from other Program countries (Poland, Latvia and Czech Republic) and 1 organization from a Program partner country (Georgia). All of them are organizations working with young people, both at local and international level. All of them have experience in European mobility projects and non-formal learning. The applicant organization knows all of them and, together, they have detected the same needs in terms of care in youth organizations. The target group of participants consists of:Professionals and volunteers from the participating organizations working in the youth field designing and implementing learning, healthy leisure, cultural, participation and promotion of active citizenship activities, willing to improve their competences in the field of care ethics.Ability to communicate and work fluently in English (which will be the working language of the whole seminar).Willing to attend the entire seminar. With desire and motivation to share and exchange views during discussions or peer-to-peer exchange. With interest in developing future cooperative projects with other seminar participants and their organizations.<< Results >>With this project we hope to achieve a significant impact, both on the participants and on the partner organizations, and fundamentally on the young people who benefit from its work and that of other associations in their communities of origin. This project will have the following results:Creation of a space for the exchange of realities, good practices and resources that increase the knowledge of the whole group and revert to the entities and local community in the places of origin of each person.Enhancement of the participants' capacity to observe gaps in care and inequity within their organizations. Acquisition of skills, knowledge, tools and new perspectives for the participants to approach and accompany their process of organizational change from the ethics of care.Improvement in the results obtained by partner organizations in their daily work with youth, and therefore, greater well-being in terms of inclusion and diversity.New connections and opportunities for networking with Erasmus+ partners, which will then allow them to continue to explore new initiatives around this theme, both intrapersonally and with others.Strengthen the participants network in the area of equity in the professional and community environment, and then continue to explore the implementation of other initiatives.

In spite of this, we also observed large entities with an impact on society such as Quercus, Zero, Green Peace Portugal and the National Geographic conferences on these themes in Lisbon and Porto.Youth generations, within these groups of environmental activists, should become increasingly important because it is through environmental awareness among the younger age groups that we will achieve an effective change in the current world situation. In this way we think that the leaders of the European Union should take this opportunity to improve Europe and the policies related to this subject, where we highlight the Cohesion Policy that defined 11 thematic objectives of support for growth for the period 2014-2020 and within this theme the objectives: 5. Promotion of risk management and prevention and adaptation to climate change; and 6. Preservation and protection of the environment and promotion of resource efficiency. In this sense, the Eco-Citizen project proposes something innovative, inspiring and different where we want young activists to have a future of hope in the area of non-formal education, considered as an area of capacity development, skills, innovation and, the domain of environmental activism. With the project Eco-Citizen we plan to give young people different opportunities that, for reasons related to their social and economic condition, life events and other issues, would not be possible.Considering the methodology of non-formal education and the use of methods that promote reflection on these moments of learning we aim to help young people to know the skills they are gifted and what are the forms (tools, instruments, contexts) that they can use to empower and value them.In this way, the project will promote activities based on non-formal education in order to reinforce skills and provide new tools to the participants so that, in this way, they achieve the appreciation of the young European generation and the personal valorization that will give them a wide range of options in the present and future. In this way, the partner network of this project is made up of 7 partner organizations, which, due to their experience and due to a relationship of cooperation and transparency, are the ideal partners for the successful development of Eco-Citizen.<< Activities >>In this sense, the Eco-Citizen project proposes something innovative, inspiring and different where we want young activists to have a future of hope in the area of non-formal education, considered as an area of capacity development, skills, innovation and, the domain of environmental activism. With the project Eco-Citizen we plan to give young people different opportunities that, for reasons related to their social and economic condition, life events and other issues, would not be possible. The Eco-Citizen - Youth Exchange activity will take place from 19th to 30th September 2019 in the city of Covilhã, with the participation of 52 members from 7 different international partners: Italy, Norway, Spain, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Portugal, countries that we consider to have different realities related to the topic and that will give the project different visions and knowledge. The Eco-Citizen project aims to involve environmental activists in different parts of Europe with the aim of creating a content for environmental activists and national, European and international entities. Therefore, the project does not only happen during the youth exchange, in this way Me + will have three structuring parts, first part with the preparation of the participants, second part with the youth exchange, which is the face-to-face activity that brings together all entities, and the third is the dissemination and valorisation of the results of the project, where the results of the project are expected to be delivered to the competent institutions at local, national, European and international level. In this way, the project will address environmental issues and activists. All the issues addressed are relevant to the personal growth of the participants and constitute an issue of extreme importance for the harmonization of this young European generation. Each partner of the ""Eco-Citizen"" partner network will send to the youth exchange, from 19th to 30th September 2019, 7 participants and a team leader respecting that participants must be between 18 and 30 years and that each team has to ensure a gender balance. The reason that each team must ensure gender balance is linked to the gender equality our association advocates as well as to prevent any kind of discrimination. In addition, gender balance allows for greater cultural diversity and group activities make it easier to gender equality between working groups, corresponding to one of the goals of the Europe 2020 strategy. Thus the participants will be 52, counting with 7 team leaders, one for each national team. The ratio of people with fewer opportunities in the project participants will be 3 in each team. The Eco-Citizen project is programmed to involve the participants in the three moments, the preparation, the implementation of the program and the dissemination of the results. In this way, the participants, together with the network of partners of the project, will be the ""multipliers"" of the results obtained on a personal level and transpose them into daily life and future situations as well as the dissemination of the results obtained in the creation of a conscious Europe a environmental level.<< Impact >>The Eco-Citizen project aims to have an impact and results at different levels, both directly at the participants and network of partners involved as well as external impact at local, national, European and international level through social circles and partnerships. each of the participants and international partners. It is important to stress that we expect participants to be able to value the personal skills acquired in the various types of education from formal, informal and non-formal. In addition, through the whole project we anticipate the development of skills such as sharing experiences, personal appreciation and self-esteem, communication, teamwork. The participants will be the ""multipliers"" of the results obtained during the project, the most direct means of communication for them as they are an integral part of the generation addressed during the project.Participants have a leading role within associations that impact on the remaining participants in a more personal and upcoming way. There is no doubt that today will be the agents of change and that will continue efforts to change the reality of European society and social integration in the world. After work on the project, participants will be able to promote initiatives related to the environment and environmental sustainability when returning to sending cities and organizations through the good practice guide created during the Eco-Citizen.Thus, we understand that the best learning is to be open to the opinions of others, to the ideas of others, actively listening and selecting the learning so that, through a reflection on the listener, the participants can be part of the European active society.Throughout the project, young people and youth workers will learn about European Union programs and how they are encouraged to participate in European education and the various programs and life the Union offers its citizens, especially young people. The institutional partners will also have a great impact through the results of this exchange because, through the final results of the Eco-Citizen will carry content on methods of environmental activism that will add value to partners. For the local and regional impact it also provides for a public presentation of the results of the Eco-Citizen so that the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth, Federation of Youth Associations of the District of Castelo Branco, Quercus, ZERO - the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth, and the local and national media (daily newspapers and televisions) Sustainable Earth System Association, Rios Project, Environmental Fund, the results are presented and the materials developed by the participants in the course of the project are displayed, of course, with their consent. The Eco-Citizen project also foresees the dissemination of the project and its results to national and international organizations that address issues related to the environment. In addition, we will send the results to, and other institutional partners who, throughout the year, support Clube Nacional de Montanhismo Clube Alpino Português in the environmental activism project. In order for there to be a greater impact on society, all promoters will invite representatives of public and private entities to the public session to present the project. To these guests will be made available the dissemination material resulting from the Eco-Citizen project. In addition, the organization foresees a constant dissemination and publication of the information and content of the project in social networks, both existing in each partner of the network of partnerships as well as in the public page created for the project. In this way it will be possible to share results directly at international level, throughout the project and after it as a method of presenting the results obtained and for valuing the young European generation. The organization foresees that the content created during the exchange, in addition to being written in English, will be translated into the mother tongues of the partner countries so that the results of the exchange can be disseminated to all concerned, and the language barrier is not a problem. In summary, the exploitation of results and the dissemination of these are fundamental factors and represent one of the bases of the project. Therefore, after the implementation of the project, most of the time of the organizers will be used in the dissemination of this, through the Internet, media such as the press or television, posters, lists of emails, etc."
