The international aviation industry understandably devotes much attention to the question of Flight safety and airworthiness, stressing the need for a holistic understanding between the machines, people who use them and the environment in which they operate throughout the aircraft’s life cycle. This project addresses the issue by developing an educational programme that assists in bringing the approach to Air safety in the partner countries into line with international best practice. It will result in an internationally compatible and recognized module based Masters Programme in “Flight safety and airworthiness”. A strong partnership combining three strong EU Universities in the Aerospace field will work in close cooperation with two leading Uzbek Universities and four strong Russian Universities, including the country’s main Civil Aviation Institute and 3 National Research Universities. Stakeholder involvement in the project will be strong with the involvement of Ulyanovsk and Samara Aviation Cluster and the Pegasus network of European Aerospace Universities. This will strengthen the University- Labour market relationship. Focusing on flight safety, airworthiness and safety management systems is particularly beneficial from the point of view of innovative approaches to life-long learning. Aviation Safety Management Systems require a change in mind set, away from traditional compartmentalised training emphasising technical solutions to the use of a formal, holistic top-down business approach to managing safety risk by establishing polices, organisational structures and accountabilities backed by a safety promotion framework and culture. This project assists in harmonising the approach to training in aviation safety issues with international best practice, by developing international partnerships between leading aerospace HEIs with a specific focus on flight safety and providing the capacity necessary for supporting these programmes in the partner countries.

Chronic disease is the major cause of death in the partner countries, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Russia. All the partner country governments have prioritised action in relation to chronic disease. The World Health Organisation point out that there is a need to increase the capacity of health care workers in this area and has noted that training of health care staff at primary level is inadequate to deal with diabetes. To improve healthcare outcomes and reduce the economic burden of chronic disease, enhanced training at post-graduate level is necessary. There is very little or no provision in the specific area targetted by this project in the partner countries. The specific objective of the project is to support the modernisation of the curriculum by developing new and innovative courses and methodologies in health studies related to chronic disease at masters level. The key deliverables are: •conducting a study tour of EU universities; •developing the approach and requirements for the masters programme; •developing programme curricula in line with the ECTS guidelines; •developing 12 modules and short courses; •developing a staff training and mobility programme; •running three one- week competence enhancing courses in the EU; •running 32 one-week “train the trainers” courses in partner HEIs. •launching the masters programmes with further “train the trainers” courses; •conducting 3 one-month long student mobilities. The impact of the project will be felt in the health sector by having health care workers trained in the new curricula, i.e. the use of the holistic approach to patient care and public health promotion, which acts as a model for other specialists in the sector. The final beneficiaries from the project are the patients who ultimately benefit from improved health competencies and governments who can reduce the costs of treating chronic disease.

The TEEDE project aimed to promote the modernization, to expand the availability and to develop the internationalization of higher education in the partner countries, to promote intercultural and interpersonal exchange, the voluntary convergence with the tendencies of the development of higher education in the EU.All partners have a strong focus on technology and engineering and serve as regional centres for implementation of national strategies for training professionals. The problem of training professionals for the real sector of economy has emerged due to accelerated technological needs of the society, shortening the period from development to implementation. As a result, there is a need for new approaches to the development of curricula sensitive and flexible to demands of companies based on innovations. This challenge is common for all regions involved in the TEEDE project: EU, Russia and AsiaTo meet this challenge in the course of the project partners:(1) Identified needs, selected key professions and areas of training.(2) Developed and modernized curricula implementing the principles of the dual education under the guidance of European experts.(3) Launched new or upgraded curricula, combining periods of study with periods of training at leading enterprises.(4) Created a system of continuous professional development.(5) Created communication and recourse centres at partner universities. The main output of the TEEDE project are the upgraded/developed curricula in trades. This was possible through development of methodological guidelines on professions and qualifications based on the analysis of the economic needs of three regions. These outputs are, and will be, available to all stakeholders through the created communication and resource centres (10, one per partner in the partner country) and through open communication of the partners that secures the reliability and high quality of the TEEDE project outcomes.Far Eastern Federal University (Russia):- BSc Ship Building.- MSc Ship’s Power Plants.- MSc Ship Building & Ocean Engineering.- MSc Energy Complexes & Marine Technique’s Equipment.Indian Institute of Technology Madras (India):- MS research Petroleum Engineering. - MS research Genomics Engineering. - PhD in Genomics Engineering. - MS research Data Analytics.- MTech Data Analytics.- PhD Data Analytics- MS research Artificial Intelligence.- PhD Artificial Intelligence.Institute of Technology of Cambodia: - PhD Food Technology & Nutrition, with Institut Pasteur du Cambodge.- MSc Water & Environmental Engineering: three specialization tracks.- MSc Mechatronics & Information Technology, in collaboration with Solar Green Energy Cambodia Co., Ltd.Jilin University (China): - MSc Geological Engineering.- MSc Civil Engineering.Katanov Khakass State University (Russia):- BSc Computer Science & Computer Engineering.- MSc Computer Science & Computer Engineering.- BSc Technology Products of Light Industry.- BSc Urban Construction.Omsk State Transport University (Russia):- BSc Chemical Technology (emphasis on English).- MSc Design of Light Industry Products.Royal University of Agriculture (Cambodia):- MSc Agricultural Management, Internationally accredited in cooperation with Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (Germany).Shenyang Ligong University (China):- BSc Building & Practice of Talent Cultivating Mode in Material Science, with three specialization tracks.- MSc Material Science & Engineering.Tomsk Polytechnic University (Russia):- BSc Mechanical Engineering.- BSc Engineering in Agriculture, with Yurga Institute of Technology.- MSc Electrical Insulation & Cable Engineering.- MSc Electrical Insulation, High Voltage & Cable Engineering.9 additional dual higher education programs are under development or pending of official approval (4 BSc, 4 MTech & 1 MSc).
