"Living together with people without a handicap is a ideal kind of inclusion. Here we have no always changing careteams but first of all human beings, and friends who care a lot of their lifes together. Jonas Küng from Austria has the oppurtunity to learn here a lot about inclusion and the everyday's life and leisure time with people with a handicap. At the end of the project we find that Jonas has taken the oppurtunity to enter in contact for the first time in his life with people with a handicap and also with the other inhabitants of the project. He was very present and active to support the people with a handicap in the morning, the evening and also during the weekend to help them in their everyday' s life and everyday' s little and biger problems. We find he was very patient and empathetic. The people with a handicap have developped confidence and trust to Jonas (and vice versa). He was clearly a support for the community. We don' t know if his work and participation has long term benefits but he has made some ""advertising"" for the project in the futur (see Annex)"

"Youth Centre Villa Elba coordinates the project "" Direction EVS: Welcome to Finland II. In this project we'll host 10 volunteers from Romania, Spain, Austria, Italy and Luxemburg and send one volunteer from Finland to Slovenia. With this project we want to bring young people from different countries and cultures to work with children and young people in our area. In small towns and rural areas the inhabitants do not have many possibilities for intercultural dialoque and to gain international contacts, so trough the voluntary worker they can get these experiences in their own living environment. We hope that this way multuiculturality would become a natural part of children and young peopels everyday life. The volunteers are young people aged 18-30 who are intrested to gain new experiences and skills trough voluntary work. When choosing the volunteers, we favor volunteers who does not have so many possibilities to participate in international programmes for en example because of unemployment, lack of language skills, or they suffer from financial or social problems. This project responds to the priorities of Erasmus+ programme since we work with young people with fewer opportunities to offer them chances to participate in international activities and self-development. We encourage young people for active citizenship and to take responsibility for themselves, people nearby and the nature. EVS is a good tool to support young people to become independent, to help them to develop their skills and to broaden their picture of the world as well to help to understand and respect different cultures. We want to make multiculturality a natural part of peoples everyday life."

Houens Odde Spejdercenter is biggest scout centre in Northern Europe. It is owned by KFUM-Spejderne i Danmark - the biggest scout association in Denmark. The main ideas of our scout organisation is to educate children and youth through activities, learning by doing, and children teach children, and non-formal learning. By doing this we help developing children and young people in to becoming independent, honest, democratic and responsible adults who have respect for their surroundings, environment and nature. Our main activities are, therefore, mostly concentrated on nature and environment activities. Houens Odde Spejdercenter is the main training and education centre of KFUM-spejderne in Denmark. Houens Odde Spejdercenter uses therefore the same ideology as our scout organisation when training and hosting volunteers: learning by doing. Yannick, Simona, and Vanessa will be a part of the staff mixed between a permanent staff and Danish/foreign volunteers. Once a week there is a staff meeting, where the last week is being evaluated and the present week is being planned. The volunteers participate in the staff meeting. Twice a week there are a volunteer planning meeting. The volunteers participate in all planning meetings together with the permanent staff. The work at the centre is coordinated in a cooperation between the EVS coordinator, the janitor at the centre and the volunteers. The jobs are discussed on the day in the morning and and again at lunch time. The jobs and name of the responsible person is written on a whiteboard with dates and times. When doing this, it makes it easier for the whole team to know what to, when to do it and who is doing it.There is also a project whiteboard. Here is written the projects of the volunteers or longer projects, that the volunteers can choose to do. Once a week at staff meeting is the project board discussed. Here the volunteers can explain what their project is about, who they are working together with, they can tell if the project is in progress or if they need help from the staff. We do it so, to make the project visible to everybody. It also gives the volunteer a possibility to tell about the project, to make it visible if there is any progress or if not, gives a chance to ask for help and ´to be recognized. To make sure that the volunteers get a good start and introduction, the first 2 weeks at the centre are planned so that volunteers get the chance to work with all sections and people of the permanent staff. The jobs at the centre are divided into : - Daily jobs - Monthly jobs - Ad hoc jobs - Volunteer project The daily jobs can be: - garbage round. - toilet check and cleaning. - buying food for the office canteen. The monthly jobs need to be done can be: - building check. - grass cutting. - checking and cleaning tractors/cars. - cleaning different workshops. The ad hoc jobs are very different. They come day by day, hour by hour. Some can be planned in advance, others are not possible to plan. They can be: - doing activities for our costumers(scouts, school groups, kindergardens, companies) - kitchen duties: cooking, cleaning, dish washing - helping janitor with different maintenance job at the centre - participating as a staff member in our scout summer camps or other scout events - participating in different volunteer arrangements together with the Danish scout volunteer staff The Volunteer Project The volunteers are given the possibility of making their own project. This is a very good chance for the volunteers to make something that reflects their interest and skills. The project must be to the use and fun of the costumers at the centre. We prefer that the project is for the benefit of nature and environment of our centre. The project must also make our costumers aware of the Eramus+ programme and the international outlet of the centre. It is important for us that the volunteers spend time on creating a project and thereby leaving their footprints at Houens Odde Spejdercenter! Because of our dynamic structure and work, is it impossible to make a correct schedule for how a day or week will go. Some of the tasks will be more routine work than other tasks. - The most important task of the staff is to provide good experiences, quality activities and service to all our guests. The working hours at the centre is 35 hours per week. There will also be days off during the week and time for vacation during the project recording to the rules of Erasmus+ The project will result in young people that learn how to grow as a person, to become more mature, independent, self-secure, aware of different culures/countries, learn new skill, work in a team and be more aware of environment and nature, and to think about what the want to become in the future. The project will also result in a more understanding from our scouts and non scout regarding other cultures/countries, when they meet the voluntee

"Through our project ""Youth meets Kindergarten"" the volunteer had the opportunity to gain new experiences in another European country, and thus in a different culture. Through the care of children of different nationalities and through the close proximity to the borderof Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, the volunteer was able to strengthen her European awareness. With us, she was able to gain a wide range of learning experiences: learning how to deal with children through individual and group care, prepare small animations and carry them out independently, act on her own responsibility, work in a team, acquiring social and pedagogic skills. The main activity of the volunteers was the care of our kindergarten children. Because of the fact that the volunteers mind was very open, socially, nature-loving and creative, she was able to participate in small activities with small groups during her volunteer year in free work, at the Sport lessons and during our weekly forest morning. For extracurricular projects with our preschool children the volunteer was needed as additional accompaniment. Over time, she was able to independently manage a large group of children during a number of hours all alone. In the course of the year, the volunteer has gained a lot of independence and openness. She has primarily taken care of the children who did not speak German or children who had difficulties with integration. She was an important caregiver for those children. However, she took care of all the children and provided very good care. She also showed her commitment in primary school and supervised a school class for a week on their class trip along the Belgian coast. The Youthpass recorded all the competences she had acquired. The volunteer is now studying to become a Waldorf teacher - we are sure that this year in our kindergarten will have been an important year for her - giving a basic orientation and preparation for her studies."
