"Modern education is based on the concept of self-activity, team activities and the interpretation of occurring phenomena. Skills such as: creative thinking and problem solving, effective communication, expressing and defending one's beliefs, the ability to discuss, negotiate, self-presentation, teamwork, openness, tolerance, knowledge of foreign languages and IT are becoming important. The teacher must establish a new type of relationship with the student. The teacher becomes a guide in the active acquisition of knowledge by the student and stimulates him to think creatively and work independently.Currently, teaching requires the application of innovative solutions and the acquisition of new competences by teachers. It became necessary to improve basic knowledge and skills through the use of interesting methods and innovations in the classroom that stimulate students to self-education. As a teaching staff, we willingly took up new challenges. We have improved the quality of education at school. We have gained a professional and well-educated staff that teaches in a modern and attractive way, which contributed to high academic results. Thanks to participation in the project, we got to know innovative ways of learning and teaching, activating and creative methods as well as the use of technological innovations, presentation programs, animations and other multimedia tools, the specificity of working with gifted and dysfunctional students. There has been an increase in social and linguistic competences. We promoted the linguistic diversity of the EU and intercultural awareness. We have developed a sense of European citizenship and identity, active participation in social and cultural life. We have built the European dimension of the school. We introduced international programs, projects and activities and started teaching according to European standards. As a part of the preparation for the mobility, we completed language coaching, substantive and cultural training. They increased the comfort of staying abroad. They allowed to move freely and independently in the city and use their free time to get to know partner countries. As part of the mobility at IES Santa Maria Guia in Spain and Eqa de Queiros in Portugal, we did job shadowing for 2 * 8 teachers. We broaden our professional and linguistic competences. We got to know modern IT tools for work at school, innovative and interesting methods stimulating the learning process: ""learn and have fun"", PBL / CBL, mental maps, project method. We observed the teacher's work as a ""guide"" in the active process of acquiring knowledge by the student using IT and pedagogical innovations.Participation in the project gave us many benefits: it enabled the improvement of teachers' competences on the professional, linguistic and social levels, the exchange of good practices and making new friends. Working in an international team was an opportunity to exchange experiences and develop pedagogical and intercultural skills. The project broadened horizons, broke stereotypes, and created new opportunities. Mutual help and support in the implementation of intended activities was essential. It strengthened ties between teachers, which improved the atmosphere at work and, as a result, prevented fatigue and burnout. Collaboration gave the opportunity to share thoughts, observations and skills with other teachers. It also allowed for constructive criticism. Looking at the work of others, we have enriched our own professional experiences. The mobility activities helped us learn about the specificity of the teaching environment in another region of Europe. All our activities have been confirmed by the Mobility Certificate and by Europass Mobility. As part of disseminating the project, we conducted numerous conferences, training sessions and demonstration lessons for groups of teachers, local community and district directors. We presented the benefits and results of our project. The database of multimedia materials is available in the school's Multimedia Information Center."

INCUBATOR FOR INNOVATIVE PRACTICESRoland Garros high school, which welcomes 2,300 students, is located in the town of Tampon in Reunion Island. Our territorial specificity is to be both integrated in the Indian Ocean area and in the European area. However, remoteness and insularity are handicaps for professional integration and openness to international markets. School dropout in Reunion Island is almost two times higher than in metropolitan France. That's the reason why we want to set up innovative activities to better support students in their learning path in high school and to better fight against dropping out. Furthermore, we want to revitalize language teaching and collaboration between teachers developed through multidisciplinary projects. We also want to promote exchanges and mobility in the European area. For this, we set up in our institution, a platform to promote innovative practices. This device leans on the skills acquired by the staff during mobility. 14 people selected and trained according to their specificities (teachers, educational adviser, librarian, technological education coordinator, accountant) are the resources of this platform. This team have the mission to support project leaders in school, as well as to promote exchanges and mobility in the European area.To do this, team people have developed their personal skills in a context of exchange with European partners. Four teachers were trained in a language school in Ireland and four teachers in a language school in Spain. These teachers passed a certification exam that allows them to teach their subject in a foreign language. The educational adviser received training in English to develop mobility projects for vocational training (KA1). Six people went to a Swedish high school and four others in two Spanish high schools. They observed and analyzed good teaching and educational practices concerning implementation of innovative projects and monitoring of early school leavers.Reinvestment in our school was done in two ways. In first place with the establishment of an INCUBATOR INNOVATIVE PRACTICES. This device aims to boost language learning and also to boost projects promoting exchanges and mobility in the European area. We expect to implement three projects with an European dimension : one for general studies, one for technological studies and one for vocational studies. In second place, by experimenting with innovative practices in a class with students presenting demobilization risks facing learning. With this action we intend to reduce absenteeism and dropping out. We have extended this experiment to two other classes with similar profiles of students.Through the required mobility (18 for 350 staffs), we encourage a strong process of modernization in teaching practices and promote international openness. Therefore, with 5 % of staff trained (European mobility) we get a multiplier effect on other personnel to improve student support and provide the conditions for a fulfilling education in a school open to the world.
