This project has been a process of HYP to focus on the importance of human rights, equality and intercultural dialogue. HYP is in contact with 2 other institutions based in Athens, the Social and Educational Act and the Greek Forum of migrants. The main purpose of the project was:Promoting intercultural dialogue and the importance of defending equality and solidarity,Promoting non-formal learning,The dissemination of mobility and volunteering programs through the Erasmus + programThe contact of young people from Europe with the Greek reality around refugee, immigration and minority groups,Engaging young people with non-formal learning and linking it with educational activitiesThe training of young people from the local community on human rights, intercultural dialogue, equality etc This project involved 3 volunteers from Denmark, Portugal and Croatia. The young participants showed significant motivation for participation and willingness to develop skills that are in line with the project, they wanted to get in touch with the Greek reality and to offer the social work to the organisations. During the project, volunteers developed communication skills, conflict management, engagement, goal setting, and more. The three volunteers coming from different backgrounds of both learning and experience wanted in their own way to engage in activities and develop their own projects based on the aims of both the program and themselves. The activities developed during the project were:Creating a network of people interested in Erasmus + programs specifically on human rights, immigration, minorities and non-formal learning.• Increase volunteer knowledge of European programs and values such as the spread of peace and mutual understanding.• Creating and promoting campaigns on the value of human rights and raising awareness and active participation on social issues.• Creating actions with local groups of teenagers and young people• Activities in local organisations active with minority and migrant youth groups (Immigrant Forum and Social and Educational Action.• Promoting non-formal learning and voluntary programs to empower young people in the local community to participate in relevant programs. The impact of the program was important for the local groups and stakeholders involved. The partners from the three countries, Denmark Crossing Borders Croatia Voluntary Center Zagreb and Portugal Mais Ciudadania followed this program at all stages and developed as a mission from the practices implemented in the program but also from the difficulties encountered.Local actors have stepped up their activities and have been able to develop alternative workshops and meetings by applying non-formal methods. It has been a great innovation for both organisations to bring people involved in the activities with young people from Europe with substantial benefits to all the members involved.Young volunteers developed at personal and professional levels as they were trained and applied what they learned in the activities created under the program. At the same time, the participants of the local community had the opportunity to engage in activities related to themes. The overall development of the program gave the incentive to continue the partnerships as started by this project and not to be an individual activity but a continuous action that would meet the needs of young people.

"In 'Planning Exchange and Arrange Collective Engagement' two major impulses to the work of IAL will be given.EUROPEAN VOLUNTARY SERVICE - PLACEMENT OFFICER AT IAL OFFICEA volunteer at the secretariat will give solid bottom to IAL's capacity. The volunteer will help to make the exchange of volunteers to go smooth, offer support, logistically and administratively to create more engaged projects, study themes and returning volunteers. All this will give the participant improved organisational skills and raised awareness of how international voluntary work can create a better, fairer world. Additionally she will build up a network, both locally and internationally that will hopefully stimulate her to stay active for international solidarity and peace, after the program ends.EXCHANGE PLATFORM MEETINGBy organising this evaluating, inspirational and knowledge-sharing meeting in Sweden a significant contribution to development of international voluntary exchange projects will be made. It literally is a platform in the form of a seminar for youth workers responsible for organizing international voluntary projects in collaboration with local NGOs and communities, as well as youth workers who are selecting, preparing and evaluating experiences of young people joining these local projects. The European youthworkers have a need for this platform, especially regarding the young people sent to regions of the world called ""the Global South"" but also within Europe and neighbouring countries. The objectives of the platform are to exchange best practices, evaluate evaluation-tools and projects as well as to share ideas and visions for the further development of international voluntary projects and sending young people to voluntary projects in the Global South. Also it offers space to discuss the recent global refugee crises and to come up with initiatives to counter it. As outputs collections of best practices and shared tools are expected. The results of the implementation of this outputs will be a better quality and higher impact of international voluntary projects, a clearer position of non profit international volunteering organizations towards commercial offers and reinforced capacity of the partner organizations as well as personal development of participants towards a broader understanding of their every day work with young people volunteering abroad. All in all, when all elements hit the target, we hope to see more active citizenship at our target group, European youth."

The buildings that are to be recovered are our ""classrooms"", but the practical training is also complemented by in-depth workshops by teachers and experts, both through traditional techniques and innovative techniques. Seeing the ancient stone structures come back to life, this will be a good example of restoration and will enable people to understand the value of conservation; to identify new users and give stimulus to the restoration to be reused for residential purposes, welcoming tourists or enterprises. The participants are welcomed in a small stone village that serves as campus, surrounded by the nature on the Lange hills. This where the training sites and workshops are organized, as well as the logistics, the management of the canteen and the school, social initiatives, events, communication, celebrations, trips through the territory to get to know the the immense natural heritage. In the end, the association's objective is to establish a social enterprise for the youth, that can perform several functions: ensure the management of the school, ensure the continuity of the project and then transform the recovered architectural heritage into a “scattered hotel”, making it economically sustainable. Our project aims is the protection and enhancement of rural architecture, to create a virtuous circle, among new citizens and among the local population, of good restorative practices, respectful of tradition. The PROMOVOLU project is an 18-month project designed to offer young people from different EU countries the opportunity to improve their skills by offering their volunteering service in hosting organisations in Athens (SCI-Hellas and Greek Forum of Refugees) where they will have to opportunity to participate in activities, which are organized for raise awareness of the local society. The project aims to promote volunteering as a means of combating discrimination, racism and xenophobia, to raise awareness on the refugees' and migrants' issues and to plan and implement activities for inclusion of refugees in the local society. Volunteers will be able to experience EVS as an important step in shaping their identity as active citizens: we believe that through their participation they will gain knowledge and experience to help them develop similar actions in their country when they return. During the project, they will live in a multicultural environment, acquiring qualities useful for their future professional and social involvement. It is of great importance the fact that volunteers shall have the opportunity to be in direct contact with one of the most demanding issues of contemporary societies. We are faced with the fact that many people are forced to leave their home country, a matter that concerns many social organizations and citizens' initiatives in all EU countries, especially in countries considered entry gates, such as Greece. Volunteers during their service will be involved in actions to raise awareness and inform the general population about the causes of refugee flow, the policies pursued by National States as well as the EU in actions to integrate refugees with the local community. Through this involvement, they will acquire knowledge and experience on issues related to the process of refugee reception, integration and the social issues that arise. The volunteers who will provide their services to SCI-Hellas come from Poland (one person for 12 months), from the United Kingdom (one person for 12 months), from Italy (2 for 6 months each at different intervals, one after another) and Estonia (2 people for 6 months each at different intervals, one after the other). The volunteers who will provide their services to the Greek Forum of Refugees come from Croatia and Hungary (one person from each country for 12 months) and from Spain and Ireland (2 people from each country for 6 months each, different intervals, in groups of 2 people, one group after the other).
