<< Objectives >>The project is designed by young people for young people with the main purpose of getting young people more involved in democratic life in their countries and in the EU, to give them a voice to express their concerns and to empower them to be active citizens while understanding and respecting the democratic systems in place in their countries and in the EU.The main objectives of the project is to help young people understand and get involved in:Policy ReformThe EU democratic system and the involvement of youth in policy reformLearning and understanding EU laws and policiesActive Citizenship and EU citizenshipHuman Rights Ways to meet with policy makers and to facilitate policy reform with youth needs in mindEncouraging youth to be more active in democratic life<< Activities >>This project will be on Youth Exchange which will take place in London. The activities foreseen for the youth exchange will include proven non-formal methodologies and will be run by the young participants of the project and managed by the partner organisations. We will have 5 participants from each of 11 countries, including the leader, who will implement the project. The profile of the participants are young people from the partner countries who come from a broad spectrum of each country, who will represent their country and the youth of their country in this project to learn from other youth, share their ideas, knowledge, voice the opinions and work together to understand and make the changes needed in their countries and the EU.An idea to make this a KA3 project was discussed but since there will be no guaranteed involvement of policy makers in this project, we felt a youth exchange would be the best platform for this project. It is hoped that a KA3 project could be a follow up project where we can take results and outcomes to policy makers and ask for their involvement in the KA3 project. << Impact >>If we can measure the impact of this project from the interest and involvement of youth in the partner countries, then we can predict a great impact on the participants and the youth in the partner countries. It is vital that these young people are given the opportunity to work on this project and realise it, so that they can see who they can start an idea and see it through, how their voices can be hear. The process used in this project is democratic, so the learning has already started, we have developed the hope that change is possible, and this project will form the start of turning the hope for a better and more democratic life for young people into a reality. The impact of this project on the participants, the youth involved, the youth in the communities and target groups, will be the creation of a society of young people from all walks of life, active in their communities, active in the democratic process, active in policy reform, active citizens and active EU citizens. The impact will be more young people voting at elections. Young people contributing and working towards policy reform. Young people building their societies and the same young people building the EU of tomorrow.

"<< Objectives >>By implementing Fostering Gender Equality to Combat Stereotypes this partnership wants to contribute to a more inclusive, equal, tolerant and respectful society that sees equity as a basic need and diversity as an attribute, not as a threat. Although European institutions, such as the European Commission or Council of Europe are continuously doing significant efforts to tackle gender inequality, fighting against this phenomenon is not the responsibility of the institutions only: the civil society, citizens and especially youth (as they represent the future of Europe) can also contribute and have a big impact into increasing gender equality among their communities. With this project, we want to support the rise of gender equality and European values by encouraging youth to take action and boost positive change in their communities and within themselves.Besides, the partnership aims to develop and improve the knowledge, skills, behaviours and attitudes of the project participants related to Gender Equality, in order to recognise how gender stereotypes and inequality shape our lives, and which actions we can take towards a higher promotion of equality. At the same time, participants will also develop communication, critical thinking and intercultural skills (among others) as a result of the project activities, and they will boost positive attitudes towards lifelong learning while becoming more tolerant active citizens. Hence, the purpose of the project is to support youth on deconstructing gender stereotypes and raising awareness on the need for Gender Equality, in order to ultimately contribute to the construction of a more inclusive, equal society. The goals will be achieved by organizing a youth exchange for 35 youngsters to learn about Gender Equality through non-formal education (NFE) and, later on, by working on a set of recommendations for the EU to decrease gender inequality, the ""10 Steps towards Gender Equality"" – as part of the follow-up and dissemination activities. The specific objectives are to: O1. Engage participants in exploring, reflecting and discussing Gender Equality and Gender Stereotypes by using NFE tools and methods that encourage critical thinking.O2. Empower and support participants on developing their own action plan to promote Gender Equality in theircommunities, boosting their civic participation and socially inclusive behaviours.O3. Provide a space for participants to discuss, engage and connect with other youngsters from different backgrounds. O4. Draft a series of recommendations for European NGOs and decision-makers, as well as for national and local ones, on how to increase gender equality.O5. Support capacity building of the partner organizations, strengthen the cooperation and assure the sustainability of our networks.<< Implementation >>The project will contain only one activity: the youth exchange "" Fostering Gender Equality to Combat Stereotypes "", which will be held at ""Caprioara Camp"", in Moroeni, Dambovita County, Romania. All the activities carried out during the youth exchange will be based on non-formal and informal learning methods by implementing participatory, interactive and learning-by-doing approaches that will encourage discussion, reflection and critical thinking. Most of the activities put into practice are inspired by the GENDER ED Manual for combating gender stereotypes in education and youth work and by Gender Approved-Handbook for Youth Workers. The 28 participants (excluding the group leaders) will be from Romania, Croatia, Czech Republic, Spain, Italy,Portugal and Poland. They should correspond to the following profile:- they are aged between 18 and 25- they are either high school pupils, students, in working field or NEETs- they identify themselves with the addressed needs- they are not actively involved in the decision-making process in their community and they lack information regarding gender theories and gender policiesThe group leaders (1 per partner, 7 in total) will be selected by each partner, as they will be their direct representative in the project, based on their experience with the Erasmus+ projects, their expertise and their ability to coordinate and help the other participants to reflect on their learning. The participants will be selected from the members or volunteers of each organization. The applicants that show any of the following needs or characteristics will have priority during the selection process:- the youth are having difficulties when informing themselves and verifying the information sources when they want to get informed about what gender equality means- low level of information regarding concepts like gender, stereotypes, equality and social inclusion- the youth are having a low level of communication and arguing competences- the youth that has been affected by different types of (gender) stereotypes during their experiences- low level of self-esteem based on the lack of representativenessSome of the participants of the youth exchange are going to be NEETs (not in education, employment or training). There will be a minimum of one NEET per national group.<< Results >>From Fostering Gender Equality to Combat Stereotypes, foresees successfully conduct the 40 participants' youth exchange, the completion of all the dissemination activities and the production of the ""10 Steps towards Gender Equality"" recommendations. It also expects to impact not only the participants directly taking part in the youth exchange and the partner organisations involved but also the local communities and other stakeholders at the local, national and European level. In general, we expect project participants to boost their knowledge, skills and behaviours towards becoming more inclusive, tolerant, active citizens. During the YE, they will learn, reflect, discuss and debate about Gender Equality and Gender Stereotypes, becoming more aware of their influence in our lives and society as well as discovering new actions they can perform to contribute to fostering gender equality. They are also expected to contribute to the creation of the ""10 Steps towards Gender Equality"" recommendations and to the dissemination of the project results, especially by developing their own action plans which they will apply to their local communities to promote social inclusion and gender equality. Still, they will assist the dissemination in many other ways too. This project will also allow the partner organisations to enhance their skills and knowledge in regards to gender equality, stereotypes and NFE tools and methods by preparing the activity and receiving the participants’ contribution and feedback. At the same time, they will boost their capacity to continue cooperating as a partnership in future projects that follow up on the present one, as well as to expand their networks and increase their professionalization and internationalization, being motivated to participate in further European activities.Another important target group of the project, besides the youngsters participating in the mobility and the partnerorganisations, is youth in the participants’ and the partners’ local communities, as they will benefit from getting involved in the action plans that the YE participants will develop to influence their surroundings and boost gender equality in their communities. Thus, they will have the opportunity to become more gender equality aware and boost their civic participation too.Last but not least, the project stakeholders such as youth organisations, student associations, culture/public institutions, research centres, institutes in the field of public policy, ActiveWatch, FILIA and ALEG, as well as the National Council for Combating Discrimination, can benefit from the ""10 Steps towards Gender Equality"" recommendations we will develop, which can contribute and have a positive impact on their activity and promotion of gender equality within their networks. The dissemination activities are also an important aspect of the project to consider when it comes to achieving the results and expected impact. The target groups reached through dissemination are:- Families & friends of participants, (20 people per participant)- Staff members involved in partner organizations and their partner networks (average 20 people reached perorganization)- Local communities of participants (average 20 people reached per each participant)- Locals attending dissemination activities (40 people per partner)- Local Romanian community not involved directly in the project, 100 people- An online community of all partners and participants (from all online dissemination activities)- A minimum (a minimum of 5 per partner)- Everyone else interested in the topic"

<< Objectives >>In the recent years, as the nationalist and populist ideas are gaining momentum, hard Euroscepticism has been increasing at significant levels both within and outside EU, amongst countries such as France, Poland Hungary, Norway, Turkey, Serbia and undoubtedly, the UK. Especially with Brexit, the problem has turned into a critical one threatening the integrity of Europe. There is the fear that hard Eurosceptic movements will get stronger in the next years, eventually leading to the collapse of the European integration process. This current picture leads European integration to being taken for granted in today’s world. In addition to being the biggest peace project for the continent after the World War II, the EU has made wide variety of policy changes possible which have significant impact in our daily lives, ranging from the freedom of movement within the EU to the right to public healthcare in any other EU member state, or the right to stand up and vote in the local elections. To prevent any Brexit domino effect and tackle the root causes of populism and hard Eurosceptism, the partners in this project found it crucial to increase among young Europeans the knowledge, awareness and understanding on the importance of the EU. Given that very often youth workers and young organizations themselves do not have sufficient knowledge, tools, methods and practices on the subject, the partners agreed on the following objectives: 1) To enhance the knowledge of youth workers participating in the project upon EU’s impact in our daily lives.2) To enhance critical thinking and media literacy skills of youth workers; 3) To provide youth workers with tools and methods to raise awareness amongst the young people upon the importance of the EU and give them skills to decipher populist message4) To foster cooperation between European organisations active the youth field in the promotion of the EU awareness and combating Euroscepticism.<< Implementation >>The project consisted in one training course of 11 days that took place between the 3rd and 13th of December 2019 in Slettestrand, Denmark. The activity gathered 32 youth workers from the partner organisations participated, motivated to promote EU awareness amongst their local young people, but in need of acquiring methods and tools and strengthening their own understanding and knowledge upon EU evolution, priorities, processes within the EU and how it betters our daily life through its decisions and policies. The participants were selected upon the following criteria:- To be a trainer, facilitator or a peer to peer educators within the partner organisations desiring to develop their skills and competences on the themes of the training;- To prove motivation to facilitate or support young people in increasing knowledge, awareness and understanding of the EU;- To demonstrate a plan on will exploit the learning outcomes;- To be able to communicate in English fluently.<< Results >>The project enhanced the capacity of youth organizations and the competences of youth workers in promoting the EU awareness amongst young people, while contributing to combat populism and Euroscepticism. This equipped youth organizations and youth workers with knowledge, methods and tools to provide a higher quality of non-formal education to their young people. The implementation of the project in its entirety contributed to the professional development of people working in the youth field – youth workers, youth organizations’ managers, project managers, project coordinators from the partner organisations. It also led to an enhanced cooperation between the partners and follow-up activities at European level to strengthen young people’s awareness upon the importance of EU.Throughout the Training Course, participants were encouraged to reflect upon the impact of the EU, EU values and EU citizenship in their daily lives as well as to exchange ideas and opinions with each other during the activities. As a result, participants’ awareness and knowledge regarding the EU and the EU awareness increased. A booklet containing methods applied during the Training Course was created by the partner organizations and published on Salto-Youth. In this way, other youth organizations across Europe can benefit from the training course by using as number of tested methods in their daily work. Furthermore, participants gained a multicultural experience. They lived and worked together in mixed groups throughout the activities. They exchanged views, ideas, opinions and good practices in various topics. There was also an intercultural evening during the Training Course, in which participants presented their culture. As such, cultural awareness and expression of the participants were enhanced significantly. Trainers encouraged participants to actively engage in and contribute to the activities. In this way, participants’ sense of initiative, communication skills, self-confidence and social competences expended further. Activities were designed for participants to work together. As such, participants developed a set of skills and competences such as active listening, working in a group, collaboration, discussion, conflict resolution, respect to and empathy towards others.Participants during the Training Course gained a greater understanding of the EU, EU citizenship and the impact of the EU in their daily lives and the challenges the EU is facing. By being a part of this project, they, as EU citizens living in different parts of the EU, learnt from each other about different aspects and perspectives regarding the EU and EU citizenship. In the long term, this increased the awareness and knowledge of the participants are expected to increase interest in EU issues and solutions, thus leading them to become more active EU citizens.

Unemployment is still a huge concern in the EU with particular concern for youth. We have seen that education is at the forefront of our priorities and almost all young people have access to education, but this does not seem to equate to employment. This project will look at the employment market, analysing the demands and needs of the labour market and create a link between the people, their education and the labour market. Allowing young people to take advantage of this prism to find the best employment solutions, either in their countries or abroad. The labour market is like a prism, it is diverse, complex and full of opportunities. The educational system in the EU is equally diverse allowing people to follow a path to their unique desires, let’s assume that education is the light and the labour force is the prism, together, in the right conditions we have a rainbow of colours, the various jobs and employment opportunities. Most young people see the employment/labour market as a piece of glass, meaning what they study should result in a job. This shows us that young people don’t really understand the diversity and ever growing labour market, not only in their countries but in the EU. We see that young people enjoy the freedom of mobility in the EU and often take advantage of the possibility to work in other country, often larger or richer countries, yet leaving a labour market searching for qualified people and often resulting in these countries searching for employees from abroad. The mobility is a fantastic opportunity and allows for the EU to grow and diversify, but this still leaves us with a gap between the labour force and the labour market. This project will address this gap, looking at ways to better understand the labour market, the needs of each labour market, both local and European, then taking the skills, knowledge, education and competences of young people and matching them to needs of the labour market allowing young people to find the best employment opportunities based on these. Many young people have complained that most employers need experienced workers, and this is one thing that young people are not able to get without employment. The project will explore various EU and national tools that will allow young people to gain experience, gained added knowledge, skills and competences so that they can meet the needs of the labour market. Our project was developed by the partnership by identifying the most common concerns of young people in the partner countries involved. We have a diverse level of experience in the labour markets allowing us to share and exchange knowledge and good practices for a European solution for young people, allowing young people to be empowered and innovative in their approach to the labour market and allowing them to understand the labour market and its needs and also understanding their skills and competences and matching these with the needs of the labour market, thus creating employment opportunities and letting them pave the way to their own future. The project will also have business experts talking to the participants giving them the perspective of the labour market from those who are in the labour market. We will have educators who will help us identify the possible faults of young people in their educational choices. As the project was developed by the partnership to address the specific needs of young people in their communities we see that the participants are part of the target groups. The participants and target groups will understand firstly the importance of making more informed choices regarding their educational choices, thus allowing them to be educated in areas based on the needs of the labour markets either in their country or in other EU countries and cities. Secondly the target groups will gain a better understanding of the labour market and more specifically the needs and requirements of each labour market and then to identify their education, skills and competences and use these to match the needs of the labour market and as a result be more employable and find employment. Thirdly the participants and target groups will learn about the various national and EU tools available to them to allow them to gain skills, competences, education and experience thus increasing their employability and their chances of finding employment. The partner organisation will use the outcomes of the project to enrich their services and activities offered to youth in their communities and also give them a greater ability to cooperate on a European level, by sharing and learning from best practices in other countries.
