Over the last decade, the organisation and the network has developed a consistent training system, which however needs rationalisation due to its complexity. A working group designed a new training of trainers (ToT) cycle and the present project aims at delivering it for the first time. The ToT cycle is built up of two eLearning phases and two residential courses. The longer eLearning phases will ensure deep processing of the material, while the face-to-face activities will provide hands-on experience, professional co-operation and personal guidance for participants. The cycle uses eLearning technology to optimise funds and minimise participants' absence from their everyday work. The main aims of this initiative is to increase the number of trainers who are certified to deliver youth information training courses, increase the number of different courses one trainer can deliver, increase the training offer for youth information workers and to facilitate access to professional training courses in the field of youth information and counselling. All these target the increased professionalism of youth information workers, for the sake of higher quality services for young people. In order to reach these aims, the concrete objectives of the project include that participants:- Become confident in the content and delivery of the 8 training courses included;- Have a knowledge and practice of both face-to-face and online training delivery;- Understand the international context of youth information;- Become capable of initiating, organising, delivering and facilitating training courses;- Interpret the international context of youth information work and apply it in their national reality;- Become reflective practitioners.More information on the ERYICA training courses: https://www.eryica.org/training.<< Activities >>The two main groups of activities are the eLearning and the residential phases, over an active period of 7 months. While the eLearning periods will be self-financed by the applicant and the partner organisations, the present proposal contains in detail the implementation of the two residential courses.Activity 1 is the first residential course of the training of trainers cycle. It will be hosted by the project partner organisation IVAJ in Valencia, Spain. It is scheduled for the week of 9 December 2019. It will play a major role in the project, as this is the first occasion when all participants meet in person and all expectations towards the ToT programme will be cleared up face-to-face. Besides these aspects, the activity will have a charged programme (annexed).Activity 2 is the second and last residential course of the training of trainers cycle. It will be hosted by the project partner organisation ANIJ and the applicant ERYICA in Luxembourg. It is scheduled for the week of 20 April 2020. Activity 2 will also be a crucial element of the project, as this is the final event and the closing of the cycle. The event will address face-to-face training delivery with concrete micro-training sessions, it will complete previous learning about pedagogical and theoretical elements, and it will provide practical knowledge and background for the organisation of training and eLearning courses, and draft concrete future plans to do so. All this will be completed by assessment and evaluation. All in all, Activity 2 will tackle all the aspects that will be missing at that point of the ToT cycle for participants to successfully operate as trainers and disseminate the project results afterwards. The project will involve 40 participants, the same people in both activities. Their number has been defined by the actual needs and possibilities of the partner organisations. Their profile was defined in a similar collaboration, and they will have:- Min. 3 years of experience in training or facilitation and/or practice of youth work; preferably youth information background; OR- Min. 3 years of experience in youth information work and followed an ERYICA training course; interested in becoming a multiplier and have some trainer experience already;complemented by a number of additional criteria, such as knowledge of English and commitment to the whole duration of the project.Participants will represent 14 organisations in 10 countries.<< Impact >>As a result of the accomplished training of trainers cycle, the staff of youth information and counselling centres across Europe will have better access to training opportunities and continuous professional development. The mainstreaming of eLearning courses will bring youth information training in the digital era. The higher number of trainers and the higher amount of courses they can deliver will disseminate the training contents much more efficiently. Different delivery platforms (online and offline) will meet more expectations and increase participation in the courses. The increased training offer will consequently mean an increase in the number of participants, therefore the outreach of the training courses at the local level. All in all, this will translate to higher quality services for young people and an increased recognition of youth information and counselling, resulting in more active and informed young citizens.
