Being different from mainstream societies, many are being excluded and marginalized. This is why 13 non-profit organizations led by JUB and APY have developed “Managing Diversity” - a long term project working with youth workers, youth trainers and educators, trying to develop their diversity management skills and support them in learning how to implement a culture of diversity in their working environments. The project targeted specifically those youth workers and educators who are eager to professionally work against structural discrimination and under-representation of marginalized groups. 26 youth workers from 13 countries joined this multi-layer project in August 2017 in the Netherlands. The group has undergone a series of trainings and capacity building workshops in the Netherlands which were followed by implementation of small local projects back in home countries of the participants. Following the Introductory Training in the Netherlands in August, participants have implemented 19 community projects back to their countries during September and, finally, traveled to Armenia in the end of October to present the impact of their projects and their learning achievements. For about 2 month between August and October, participants have developed and executed 19 local projects reaching about 500 young people in 13 countries ranging from East to West of Europe. The local projects have worked and empowered young refugees, LGBTQI people, Roma youth, youth with disabilities and many other vulnerable and marginalized youth. Through different types of projects our participants have worked on very sensitive topics. The activities ranged from an improvisational theater involving Roma youth in Romania and Human Library in Macedonia to career orientation courses for youth with disabilities in Armenia; from a surfing workshop for people with disabilities and a multicultural football tournament in Portugal to a Forum Theatre with refugees in Germany. Many of the projects have targeted the most vulnerable youth, such as a movie projects promoting LGBTQI rights in Moldova or speaking up about domestic violence against women in Armenia. All the projects were exceptional having in mind that they were implemented with zero funding, purely organized through the resources of participants, networks of partner organizations and in kind contribution and support provided by local stakeholders in each respective country. The projects took place in home countries of the participants: Armenia, Belarus, Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Macedonia, Moldova, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Romania. All the projects were implemented through diversity glasses and tackled issues of minority groups living in participating countries. From 6-14 of October participants from Armenia, Belarus, Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Macedonia, Moldova, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Romania have gathered in Yerevan. Following the successful implementation of small projects, the project results were evaluated and presented to public during a Closing Event. The public event was attended by young people, representatives of NGO’s and international organizations, media and partners.

This EVS project aims to raise volunteers' awareness and understanding of other culture and country working in a post conflict environment and learning peace - building process. Furthermore, the objective of the project is to support the acquisition of competences and skills of volunteers: they will improve their communication in English language and their knowledge of peace building process and multicultural skills. The project idea was initiated by a youngster, Simone Gentili, who contacted AIM as sending and coordinating organisation because he really would like to have an EVS experience in Kartlosi organisation. After first skype calls with the hosting organisation, we realised that the organisation is very reliable and carries out important activities at local and international level to support local civil population, encourage development of their professional potential, and raise participation of youth in local life. For these reasons we decided to cooperate and develop together this project proposal. The Partnership between these organisations will be effective as they have rich experience in international youth projects and engagement of local communities. Both organisations took part in project proposal development and will be able to take part in implementation, evaluation and dissemination. The link between the two organisations is the youth and non formal education as a tool to fight youth unemployment. This is because it supports development by helping to transform young peoples’ potential, creativity, talents, initiative and social responsibility, through the acquisition of related knowledge, skills, attitudes and values. We strongly believe that all the young people who are willing to collaborate and are thirsty for learning, can realize any kind of program. The only requirement is to be a creative, positive and flexible person, willing to cooperate, also to respect and adapt to local community and its habits. What is important in this field of volunteering and active citizenship is the effort of both organizations in including young people who are really motivated and want to live the experience of evs as part of a long term learning process. Today, the definition of the profile of a potential evs volunteer is a delicate issue because E+ promoted so much the opportunities to go abroad that the organizations involved have to take care in giving the useful information and tailor the projects on the priority needs for the actual generation. The best candidates are people willing to work with youth. The participants will be young people unemployed, notably who come from small communities and disadvantaged background, with low skills. As expected in Erasmus + Guide, volunteers for EVS are to be selected in a fair, transparent and objective way, regardless of their ethnic group, religion, sexual orientation, political opinion, etc. No specific profile is required but only creativity, open mind and will to get involved in a multicultural and new context, exchanging experiences and learnings with other people. The choice will be done, in particular, on the basis of their motivations and expectations from this EVS project.Basic members of the selection team are other EVS volunteers who are doing their EVS experience in that moment. They will read the applications of the candidates and they will select who, in their opinion would be more collaborative and positive for the project but also would acquire important values for their life. Flowingly we dispatch informative material and a questionnaire that concerns the particularities of our program and clarifies the conditions of work and stay in the host organisation. The volunteers interview by phone or E-mail the candidates, resolve all their questions, but simultaneously are learning a lot about them. Finally the proposal of present volunteers is discussed by mentor’s team and staff. The final decision will be discussed between partners. One of our aims is to widen our network and promote as more as possible the EVS opportunity so, in any case, all the young people who will ask for information or will candidate will enter in a community so to be informed of other opportunities and can become active volunteers at local level. Selections will be published and the preparation will be opened to all as it can be useful to enter this world of non formal education. We already have one candidate volunteer, Simone Gentili, a 24 years old youngster, who is the promoter of this project proposal. As Social Worker, he has experience with minorities, refugees and especially with children, working for the last one year and half as support teacher in schools. In his previous experiences, he had several chances to work in a team planning and managing projects, being always proactive and ready to relate to people, improving his interpersonal and communications skills. He has always been interested in social field and for this reason he graduated in Social Work and Sociology and now he wants to participate to this project. He is highly motivated to work for it because he strongly believes in the aim of EVS and in the activities planned by this project. He wants to focus his professional career on this topic and this is the perfect chance to improve his skills and knowledge to find a job when he will come back to Italy. The project and all the including activities are addressed to young people who are between 18 and 30 years old. We will chose them without any gender preferences or discrimination. There will be an equal treatment of men and women since the principle of gender equality is central to all our activities (1 boy and 1 girl).

More so we want youth to have their own voice and their opinion heard on the matter, something that we believe still doesn’t happen so often. Education is a topic that touches young people’s lives and for such it is important to hear their saying on that. Why is it important to speak about Education? Do we need it?We are seeing radical ideologies coming to the forefront again, youngsters being influenced by hate speeches and following them, other ones dropping out of school for some reason or being denied access to school at all, which still happens to more than 200 million children and teenagers around the world. The workshops and activities planned aim at this: to discuss the topic, have young people’s own say and challenge them on their sense of initiative and entrepreneurship, their sense of critic and own opinion, while spreading awareness on subjects that, direct or indirectly, are entwined with education in society: inclusion, poverty, discrimination, policies making, among others. The participants are invited to be creative, share their thoughts on the activities and engage in constructive discussions with other youngsters who might come from different backgrounds, such religious or economic ones other than the cultural. Here are some of the objectives of the project:•Engaging youngsters in the discussion and encourage them into being part of decisions making.•Empower young people through self-esteem and critical thinking; •Promote an inclusive education, regardless of the background of the youngster.•Challenge participants into creating public campaigns and exhibitions about education at the same time promoting teamwork and organizational skills.•Share and exchange cultural treats and learn more about people across Europe.•Increase the motivation of young people to be part of future projects of formal/non formal education. All of this while having the chance of knowing Bystrzyca Kłodzka, a town of about 10000 inhabitants located in a rural area in the South-West of Poland just few kilometres away from Czech Republic. Our project defends equal opportunities for youngsters, thus no young person will be deferred due to gender, origin, religious beliefs, economic situation, sexual orientation or education level.During the project youngsters will be involved in activities, such as:- Integration games and energizers, which have the purpose to create the team spirit with the group and bringing them together.- Debate, to develop critical thinking of the youngsters and their sense of argumentation as at the same time, improving their public speaking.- Street campaign and exhibition, as to develop creativity thinking and sense of initiative and entrepreneurship.- Activities of role play, which will allow youngsters to have a different perspective of the world, by putting themselves in ""another's shoes"".- Writing of a manifest, empowering youngsters by giving them the opportunity to be heard about matters that are important to them.Besides this, the youngsters will also take part in intercultural evenings which also have the aim of promoting cultural awareness and breaking barriers of prejudice or stereotypes. All the activities in our project are linked to the objective of promoting education, as a tool for social inclusion and tolerance. At the same time, these activities will be promoting the values of Erasmus plus - during the activities connected to the program or the youthpass- and the values of Europe.<< Impact >>By taking part on ""We don’t need no Education”, the involved people of 8 countries will gain and improve knowledge and important skills, not only for them as individuals, but also to the organizations and - through them- other youngsters and the society. These are the results we want to accomplish:- Cultural awareness, through the contact with youngsters from across Europe and participating in cultural evenings.- Team work, by taking part in the workshops and group activities;- Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship,- Sense of inclusion and empathy, by working together with people from different backgrounds, but also by taking part in activities from which they can see different realities around the world.- Sense of creativity;- Public speech and sharing opinion. Because of the personal fears of young people and families, economic problems, and lack of information and pollution, initiatives on this issue are below the world standards. Our young people participating in many national activities are required to carry them to international dimensions. In this context, the project was associated with the nature camp organized by the Provincial Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, which is intensively involved in national participation, at the Aladağ Camping Training Center. Throughout the camp; sports, cultural, social and touristic activities. In the summer camps, 500 new camps come to our city every week. Camps Sports activities (orienteering, cycling, paintball, mountaineering, canoeing and other sporting activities planned instant), cultural activities (organizing and promoting activities of local and national culture), social activities (Personal training seminars, History and Literature ... etc seminars) ) and tourist activities (nature trips, city center, historical and touristic area visits). Through the project, 5 volunteers came to our province and were assigned to camps with their fellow citizens. They were encouraged to take part in activities that would increase their personal capacities and to show young people what an international experience was like and to eliminate the problems that occurred in their minds for participation abroad through training, activities or projects. In addition, the promotion of the European Voluntary Service (EVS) projects will be carried out both in camps and in universities, city centers, schools ... As Provincial Directorate, efforts were made to increase participation in European Voluntary Service activities. In this way, the interest of the newly accepted projects is increased. Throughout the project, the volunteers participated in the sportive, cultural, social and touristic activities themselves, and the participation of the youth camps with the direct beneficiaries of the camps, increasing the participation of the campers and increasing the participation of the camps. methods. In the short term, the camps will get rid of the mediocrity, improve the interest of the participants, increase the interest of the volunteers especially in the nature sports, increase the participation in the international projects in our city in the long term, bring an international dimension to the youth camps and benefit from the intercultural interactions of the young campers from our city and other cities better. and volunteer knowledge and skills gained in the camps in the choice of profession or at least as a lifestyle.

While the form of conflicts may vary such as inter ethnic, inter-religious, international or any other many states face urgent situations of tension and are not always prepared to handle them or to find solutions acceptable to all concerned. Recently, security logics and increased policing have been the choice of governments in response to conflicts. More and more, there is a tendency to “explain” conflict through multiculturalism or religion, thus blaming culture and diversity for growing tensions. Especially there is growing fears towards refugees, muslims leads radicalization in many European countries. In addressing youth, conflict is an inevitable topic, both as a transversal theme and as a specific area of work. The European institutions are aware of this, and both have some form of specific programming in relation to youth and conflict, actively engaging in co-operation on this theme. Young people face different kinds of conflict in their lives and transitions to adulthood, and at the same time many live in regions or environments experiencing or recovering from conflict. Furthermore, the forms and types of conflict that can be experienced change with the dynamic development of societies in response to globalisation. The background of the project outline is constituted by existing regional conflicts in Eastern Europe and Caucasus and the increasing tensions within many EU countries in regards to nationalism, xenophobia. Viewing the post-soviet context with frozen and hot conflicts/war in east Ukraine (Ukraine - Russia), Abkhazia and Southern Ossetia (Georgia) and Nagorno- Karabakh (Armenia - Azerbaijan), Kurdish conflict (Turkey), political conflict between Netherlands and Turkey proves that conflict management and peace building are obviously among the most important issues especially among young people for civil society organizations to work on. All the above stated illustrates the importance of youth work in the areas of peace building, conflict transformation, peace education and anti-discrimination. Many youth workers are missing skills to deal with conflict or has limited methods to apply. so these create big need to train youth workers to develop theirs skills and prove them different tools to promote peace education. Considering all above mentioned we decided to create a training course to fill in the gap. Skills and Tools to Transform Conflict - STTC provided tools to youth workers on conflict management and peace education for their daily work with young people. Second of aim STTC is to develop capacity and skills of participants to become a peace-builder and change makers in their communities. The following objectives have been set in order to implement a successful training course: • To exchange best practices in relation to youth work and conflict and -cultural dialogue; • To provide tools for conflict management and peace education; • To promote common understanding of peace and dialogue; • To develop and promote the culture of peace; • To create space for NGOs and youth workers to cooperate in the implementation of joint projects on local, regional and international level; • To raise the visibility of the Erasmus+ Programme in the U.K and EECA region. The training course(TC) ""Skills and Tools to Transform Conflict - STTC"" took take place in London, United Kingdom between 29 November - 6 December 2018. TC gathered 31 youth workers and youth leaders, included 3 trainers, 1 junior trainer and 1 project manager, 1 support staff from 6 EECA and 6 Programme countries as such as; United Kingdom, Lithuania, Poland, Spain, Turkey, Netherlands, Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Belarus. This TC covered different types of conflicts and in different settings and consequently ways of transforming conflicts by non-violent actions. Crucial attention was placed on fostering a constructive debate on recent conflicts in Europe and cooperation in the youth field. This was done by promoting non-violent approaches leading to actions on peace-building and promotion of Human Rights. Moreover, young leaders discussed the significant role of youth participation in grass-root peace-building initiatives. The trainers and invited experts shared practical and theoretical knowledge on the topics, through plenary sessions, discussions, workshops, creativity sessions, inter-cultural & interactive exercises and other non-formal educational methods. Essential throughout the TC is the input and experience sharing from participants."
