EPTO members have developed and integrated a lot of effective peer-to-peer approaches targeting young people. They address themes such as social inclusion, diversity, religious dialogue, access to information, participation and lifelong learning. For the European wide dissemination of these achievements, every year, members join forces, present their results and exchange good practices in the field with other members and youth organizations/youth workers outside the network. In this way we try to contribute to the prevention of discrimination and extremism of all kind by unleashing the impactful potential of peer training. Our goal is to continue these efforts in 2018, via 2 major European events: the annual EPTO Event for Members and the European Peer Forum 2018. Our objectives are to: O1. build capacities of youth organisations and youth workers from at least 12 European countries to implement peer-to-peer approaches that promote diversity, intercultural and inter-religious dialogue and tolerance O2. design common strategies to support peer learning at local level, including face-to-face and online opportunities O3. stimulate peer learning between organisations on critical issues related to their work in the fields of diversity, intercultural and inter-religious dialogue and tolerance The two events will involve more than 30 youth workers each, from Italy, Romania, Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Estonia, Hungary, Albania, FYROM, Armenia and Ireland. The participants will develop the competencies that their NGOs need to offer better educational programmes for promoting inclusion and tackling all forms of discrimination and extremism. By experimenting peer education activities on different topics, participants will enlarge their ""toolbox"" of methods for working in favour of young people and develop new skills to take action in their daily environments. By integrating good practices and new methods related to quality in peer education into their daily work, partners will create a more professional and modern environment inside the organisation and their staff will be more motivated. The European dimension of the training will foster networking and the creation of new partnerships between the participating organisations. Overall we can say that by increasing the effectiveness of the organisations' work in terms of creating a more inclusive environment, the project will have a positive impact on the ones with which they address, stimulating their well-being."

We expect that participants will start to see their work in broader picture, European framework with an idea of establishing standards of work within LGBT+ youth work setting. We also expect that the newly acquired information and competences will have positive impact on the overall quality of LGBT+ youth works and projects on local/regional/national level. New methods and approaches will contribute to modernisation of LGBT+ youth work, projects and services working with this topic. Local actions will increase awareness of the needs of this minority group, it will support their visibility and will contribute to creating a positive image in the local community. The organizations might start using or improve the methods of well-being to help their volunteers and staff member to realize better their potential. The exchange of methods will also support organisations to reach out to marginalized groups and to promote diversity, tolerance and promote respect of human rights. We see the impact on European level in the development of future projects, building on the newly established network of contacts. In the longer run, we expect the impact in the form of overall improvement in the quality of youth work focused on LGBT+ youth and human rights across the Europe.Objectives:- To offer space for LGBT+ community youth workers to share and promote best youth work practices and learn from each other- To support participants in developing soft skills and competences in combining both LGBT+ and non-formal education perspectives- To inspire youth workers to use various non-formal education methodology in their everyday work- To support a strong international network of LGBT+ community youth workers and organisations- To learn more about the Erasmus+ program and its actions, and provide space for creating new partnerships and new projectsWith this project we want to equip youth workers with skills, competences and methods for their professional and personal development. This will raise the quality of support offered to young people in their local environment. Increase in the overall quality of youth work is expected. This should result in new local activities and projects that will nurture integration of much bigger, invisible group of young people, indirectly involved in this project. In long term, these types of local actions will contribute to minimization of negative effects on the mental health of the young people coming from sexual, gender, cultural and ethnic minoritiesIt will also offer participants the opportunity to build networks of international contacts and develop a sense of European citizenship and identity.By gathering together a diverse group of professionals from all over Europe who work in the field of LGBT+ youth and have different level of experience, we will support peer-learning through sharing of good practices. This exchange of experiences and methods will support youth workers to reach out to marginalized young people and promote diversity and respect for human rights. The geographical diversity of participants will enable to discuss issues and challenges that are unique to each country/organisation, but also to see challenges and opportunities on European-wide level. It will also help define and explore new local and cross-border challenges and provide space to think about solutions. This meeting will also focus on defining needs and objectives for a long-term project on developing a profile of and methodology for training LGBT+ youth workers (including pilot testing). In longer perspective, future projects will be created with the aim to seek support from Erasmus+:Youth in Action (or other funding sources). This will further increase mobility of young people within Europe.<< Activities >>We are planning two activities, preparation meeting (A1) and the contact making seminar (A2), which structure should resemble less a training and more a creative get together and a learning space that is co-created together with partner organisations and participants. The overall aim is to improve capacities and empower youth workers and educators to use non-formal education within LGBT+ youth work setting. This will be achieved through peer learning and exchange of good practices and creative approaches between professionals and activists with different levels of experience. Profile and number of participantsThe activity is aimed at a very diverse target group. The participant’s basic profile is someone over 18 (for safety and child protection reasons) who works or wants to work with LGBT+ youth. Although the participants will be divided into three categories(youngsters, elders, seeds), according to their level of skill and experience (both personal and with regard to their organisation), all participants have strong motivation and willingness to reflect on their own experience and share it with the rest of the participants. All the participants will fall in one of the following categories: - Youngsters are new to the LGBT+ youth work and are looking for new methodologies- Elders use non-formal education (NFE) in their daily work and are willing to share a methodology or activity at the seminar. - Seeds are curious about the topic and want to start using NFE in their work with LGBT+ community. This intersectional/intergenerational approach will contribute to the richness of the learning environment and of the shared practices. Participants will be selected according to their application, in which they will describe their experience and motivation to participate. They will also indicate their preferred group. The final selection will be done by the preparation team at the preparatory meeting. For each partner organisation, we will have two places reserved. 30 participants from Ireland, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Serbian, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic and Bulgaria will be participating. This number includes the 4 facilitators. The idea is to have a group as diverse as possible to maximize skill sharing and peer learning potential.<< Impact >>Impact on participantsThe project will have significant impact on the Youngsters and Seeds, as they will learn the most and bring much knowledge back home. The project will foster the professional development of youth workers as they will be equipped with competences and methods that they can use in their organisation and in the work with LGBT+ young people.Participants will develop skills, competences and framework that will raise the quality of support offered to young people in their local environment. Increase in the overall quality of youth work is expected. The exchange of experiences and methods will support youth workers to reach out to marginalized young people and promote diversity and respect for human rights. This should result in new local activities and projects that will nurture integration of much bigger, invisible group of young people, indirectly involved in this project. In long term, these types of local actions will contribute to minimization of negative effects on the mental health of the young people coming from sexual, gender, cultural and ethnic minoritiesIn longer perspective, future projects will be created with the aim to seek support from Erasmus+:Youth in Action (or other funding sources). This will further increase mobility of young people within Europe. A FB group (or similar) will be established for regular contact between participants, also to share new ideas and funding opportunities. Also Elders will gain new ideas and refresh their motivation for their work. They will feel that their work and themselves are important. To measure learning impact on participants, we will use various methods - defining expectations at the beginning and at the end of event, creating a ""lessons learned"" wall at the end, asking specific questions on learning in home groups. Project's main impact is on the networking capacity and ability of participants and on understanding the greater European context of their work. In addition participants will deliver also session and can share good practices and tools which can be very useful for other participants. This will also have an impact on the participating organisations, as it will provide them with highly motivated and networked members and quality project ideas to follow up on.Impact on participating organisationsThe participating organizations will become a part of a network and they will increase their mobility within Erasmus+ Program. Their capacity of organizing international project will increase and the quality of the projects will improve. By having new partners they will also increase the number of projects. They will start participating in more youth exchanges and will have new partners for EVS-projects. The participants will implement the knowledge coming from the TC into their organizations, so the organizational capacity will improve as well. This may change the structure of organisation in terms of planning strategically the professional development of their staff in relation to non-formal education and LGBT+ topics.Impact on target groupsYoung people and local communities will have bigger access to international projects, they will travel more, and they will increase their access to non-formal education. They will have more chances to develop their talents through increasing the quantity of projects and they will gain from them more from increasing the quality of the organizations."

The project aims to create and impose the perception of equality, tolerance, unity and inclusion of marginalized groups. For this purpose, mobility will involve people with limited opportunities. To achieve the outcomes, a detailed program based on informal learning methods of education will be developed to address the needs of the target group and those of the project itself to achieve effective and sustainable outcomes. To meet these needs, youth workers from eight different countries - namely, Macedonia, Croatia, Ukraine, Romania, Georgia, Jordan, Portugal and Bulgaria will be participating in the project, who will share their experience and expertise to build skills among youth sector representatives. Participants will learn and disseminate coaching methodology and methods that they will incorporate into their work and disseminate their network of contacts to meet the goals and expected outcomes of the project. Experienced organizations participate in the project, involving teams of experts and youth workers with experience in working with young people and disadvantaged people. Already at the application stage, the participating organizations agreed on who the main representatives of the target group were and what their needs were to prepare a pre-program and activities to meet them. Such needs are the need to build capacity in the youth sector, to introduce innovative working methods, to increase the attractiveness of youth workers in the labor market, to increase their skills and key competences, to achieve intercultural dialogue and to increase their capacity internationally , provoking awareness and initiative and building a European identity and unity in diversity. Each participant will receive a Youthpass certificate. The quality of the project depends on good planning and the active participation of each partner. The team of the coordinating organization has a wealth of experience in project management and therefore good practices and procedures have already been established that are in line with the principles of transparency and equity. All participating organizations will be aware of them and will follow them to ensure quality management. Dissemination of the results is of the utmost importance for the project to reach the maximum number of people and to see the success of coaching methodologies in their work with young people, especially young people with fewer opportunities. Each of the participating countries in the project will be responsible for disseminating project results and follow-up. It is important to meet certain requirements in achieving publicity of the project in order to highlight the support of the European Community and the results achieved in order to be able to see the importance of such projects and to support them in the future, to encourage more organizations and people to work towards a more effective way to work with disadvantaged young people. The achievements and results of the activities will be disseminated and used to optimize their value, enhance their relevance and ensure that as many young people and organizations as possible benefit from them. Different distribution channels will be used, with an emphasis on the use of online methods and media. Subsequently, there will be an emphasis on organizing different types of events during which participants and participating organizations will have the opportunity to tell about the experience and share their experience. To evaluate achievement of the results, different methods will be used, such as reflection, feedback, and individual online meetings with each participant after a certain amount of time has passed to see how they apply the acquired knowledge and skills to practice. It is important for the evaluation of the project to see how the learning is practically used by the participants and what is the effect of the tools learned during the project. The co-ordinating organization will issue a short guide to good practice from coaching that will be distributed to each of the partner organizations in order to serve as a guide to recall learning and to motivate youth workers to use the tools in their professional life.
