    "The three most important host countries for refugees in 2015/2016 were Sweden, Germany, Austria. We decided to visit Sweden - more precisely: Stockholm - in order to get to know the measures and projects that were started there for migrants within the scope of job shadowing. We have set ourselves 3 goals: 1. Information and getting to know the integration measures of the city of Stockholm 2. Feasibility study of the implementation of Swedish projects in VHS Wien 3. Disseminating information about the new knowledge within the existing network of local, regional and national institutions. Jeannette Lehninger of the Center for Adult Education of the City of Stockholm will present the in-house activities on both working days; attend a Swedish course with the mobility participants and demonstrate about general conditions, additional offers and teaching practice. The three employees who are involved in the European mobility work for the latest project of VHS Wien ""Integration from Day 1"". They will examine which projects and educational offers in Stockholm can be transferred to Vienna. Essential to us is the dissemination of information. The internal dissemination of information inside VHS Wien, and especially for projects of the same topic - spacelab, youth college, etc. and the external dissemination in the local / regional network towards the authorities and institutions involved: MA17 , Volkshilfe, Caritas, Interface, ABZ, Jugend am Werk etc."

    "ContextThe project ""Improving the competencies of adult educators to ensure equality of chances"" is to be found in the context of the upskilling pathways strategy and the implementation of the validation strategy.The goals of the mobilities are as follows:1) Improvement of the processes for the validation of non-formal and informal acquired competencies 2) Adaption and development of basic skills programs 3) Adaptation of the further education programs to the requirements for the integration of migrants 4) Improvement of the accessibility and integration of underrepresented target groups.Number and profile of the participantsFive qualified educational staff members of VÖV and of the Austrian Academy of Continuing Education, as well as the Secretary General of the VÖV and the Director of the Academy of Continuing Education, take part in the mobilities. All persons are experts in adult education with many years of practical experience and international project experience.Activities and methodsTwo job shadowings are planned for validation, one in the Netherlands and one in Germany. In doing so, tools such as ePortfolios are to be studied, which may be relevant to the development of the validation process of the Continuing Education Academy.The participation in the international conference on literacy and basic education from 3 to 6 July 2017 in Madrid (http://aelemadrid2017.com/en/xx-european-conference/) offers the possibility of a worldwide exchange.A job shadowing at SFI Söderort in Stockholm allows the exchange of vocational training opportunities for refugees and is also intended to show how educational guidance can be used in this respect.The annual conference of the European Association for the Education of Adults on 27 an enhance the knowledge of different European initiatives and projects which try to integrate people who are underrepresented in adult education into lifelong learning.Planned results and impacts:The validation system in Austria is just being developed. Looking at other countries is helpful to implement existing methods and tools as well as quality assurance procedures. International coordination is therefore necessary in this area. At the same time, Austria can share the experiences we have gained with the Academy of Continuing Education.We are optimizing and adapting the teacher-development activities of the VÖV in the area of basic skills training according to the changing needs in this field. We are going to inform the Adult Education Initiative about new international developments And we are going to implement the findings of the Madrid conference in basic training activities in Adult Education Centres in Austria.Development of recommendations for the design of the permeability in the education system in Austria and in Sweden after a comparison of the models in both countries. Development of educational measures for the qualification of refugees and migrants.We are also going to design recommendations for our member-organisations how to reach disadvantaged target groups and to ensure retention.Potential longterm benefitsThe implementation of the national validation strategy improves the visibility of the learning processes and learning outcomes, in particular of people who are exposed to various disadvantages. It thus contributes to better integration into the labor market and the education system and it fosters personal development. The skills of adult educators are improved, which in turn increases the quThe improvement of our teacher-development helps to increase the competencies of teachers and learning facilitators in adult education, which in turn has a positive effect on the quality of adult learning, and in particular makes lifelong learning for disadvantaged persons, migrants and refugees more attractive.Finally, target group-specific offers improve the effectiveness of adult education and adult education centres . Learning outcomes from transnational contacts and international conferences are extremely relevant and supportive for alls the above mentioned points. In the long term, all the learning outcomes will improve the chances of disadvantaged people, as they will lead to a better integration into the labor market and into society as such."
