With emphasis on the educational program Aktivt lärande (Active learning) YA strives to provide opportunities for students to achieve their individual goals. To be able to develop active learning in practice the organization needs common goals, with a staff who are willing and able to help each student to develop their potential, their self-knowledge and achieve their individual goals in terms of training, qualification, employment or continued studies. The 2015 revised national qualifications, and the forthcoming national VET reform in 2018, has contributed to key changes for both students and staff. These changes has resulted in a need to develop studies in different learning environments and at the same time the teacher’s role is shifting towards a more coaching role. A significant part of the students learning is expected to take place in work places during on-the-job learning periods, and in certain competence areas the students are expected to conduct up to 50 competence points through on-the job-learning. YA has also introduced a non-graded (or ungraded) learning where students can acquire their skills at their own pace, so that learning is not tied to a specific grade or year. The non-grade learning system facilitates personalized learning so that students are able to plan and influence their own study paths. This has resulted in an increased demand for on-the-job learning placements abroad. These periods are unique opportunities through which students can improve key skills such as problem solving, collaboration, professional ethics, initiative and entrepreneurship. While there is an increased need for the work placements, there is also a clear development need to strengthen the role of teachers as coaches in different learning environments. The focus should be on learning outcomes and objectives, not on study hours. Staff exchanges represents an opportunity to compare and exchange experience through job shadowing European colleagues and carrying out study visits. There is also a need to test learning models and tools for learning in different learning environments in accordance of ECVET. These reforms promote internationalization in vocational education whilst it also causes development needs both for the staff, the students and for the partner’s cooperation. This also places greater demand on management, coordination and application of ECVET routines. Through the Erasmus + KA102 project COACHING - Coaching Competencies and Routines for VET mobility following objectives are expected to be met: a. Strengthening the competencies of the staff in their new coaching role in different learning environments and enhanced experience of recognition of skills acquired in other learning environment according to ECVET. b. Increased learning in different learning environments and strengthened key competences for students (active and entrepreneurial learning). c. Stronger partnerships and increased access to work placements and job shadowing places – amongst European partners. d. Strengthened application of ECVET routines, as a quality assurance measure to ensure the quality of learning in different learning environments. The project's main method to meet objectives is carried out through the following activities: 1. Exchange of knowledge for staff (one -week job shadowing or 2-3 days as accompanying person/study visit). 2. Competency boosting work placement periods of four weeks abroad for students. During the period of two years a total of 70 student mobilities, 16 accompanying teachers / study visits and 16 job shadowing periods will take place in Sweden, Austria, France, Portugal, Spain and Malta. YA also plans to invite two guest speakers from partners in Malta and Spain to disseminate valuable knowledge and experience to staff and students about international - and multicultural competencies.

In addition to this, there is the lack of the development of an entrepreneurial culture that brings different but deeply connected sectors into synergy and dialogues among such as school, political-institutional and association world (not only trade associations). “V.I.E.W.” has allowed 100 Calabrian recent graduates to carry out a 120-days internship in Spain, United Kingdom, Ireland and Malta in crucial areas for the local economy: marketing and business management, applied to the tourism-cultural sector, internationalization and the export of agri-food products. The overall objective was to provide new graduates with skills that can be used in the labour market and that can, at the same time, help the local business community to internationalize.Graduates, within one year of the acquisition of the high school degree, took part in the mobility action. The specific purposes established in the project proposal were: - create and entrench synergies between school and world of work;- promote an acknowledged and guaranteed mobility, in order to strengthen the internazionalization of training and employment opportunities; - enrich the reflection of decision-makers at national and European level on the concrete contribution of the recognition and validation of non-formal and informal learning (definition of the ECVET implementation process in Calabria), on the implementation and development of lifelong learning policies;- improve the employability of young Calabrian graduates by supporting the recognition of skills and knowledge;- implement strategic countermeasures focusing on the qualification of tourism marketing to boost small and medium-sized businesses in Calabria;- acquire and/or update skills and technical-professional knowledge for participants. The plan of the activities, besides the Core activity constituted from the mobility routes to the foreign country, has foreseen:- finding and identification of the foreign entrepreneurial fabric hosting training placement;- identification of logistics and accommodation solutions for trainees;- insurance benefits for periods of mobility abroad;-planning and preparation, in cooperation with the foreign partnership, of contractual documents (Conventions, Learning Agreement, etc.);-mentoring/monitoring of participants through tutorial figures throughout their stay abroad;-dissemination of results and use through various dissemination channels. With regard to the results, the impact of the project concerned:-acquisition by participants not only of knowledge, but skills in specific areas an important cross-cutting skills, which are particularly needed in the labor market;-increase of the individual employment opportunities in the national and European labour market;-raising awareness, at institutional level too , of the application in the Calabrian training system of the validation and recognition process of skills acquired in mobility actions, attributable to the ECVET system."
