The project EVST-mobility aims to open access to job-related internships and workplacements abroad in particular for less advanteged vocational trainees in order to improve their chances of placement in the German and European labor market. The initial point was the the finding, that especially among young people in rural regions there exist widespread prejudices against leaving the traditional living environment, and that it requires additional efforts to encourage this target group for the participation in trans-national mobility projects. This is particularly true for young people from social disadvantaged groups and with a migration background, who often provide only little international experience before. The beneficiaries undertake their vocational training either in a full-time school programm or in dual vocational training. They are 16 to 24 years old and working in professional fields in which international experience is in many cases already seen as a condition for employment, such as in business-management and in the service-sector (hotel and catering). Additionally there is an also increasing demand among vocational trainees from technichal-productive trades, the social sector (education and health-care) as from creative professions, like IT- and media-design. By work-related stays abroad they should get the opportunity to develop their intercultural competence, understood perceived as the ability to act to communicate in a foreign cultural environment efficiently and goal-oriented. In addition to work placements, the project offers the possibility, to promote in particular job-related language skills and to work in training and employment-related so called European Vocational Skills Training projects. The goal of these EVST-projects is, to be able to prove the acquisition of professional skills even if a direct participation in working processes within an internship is restricted or the area of operation does not fully match the beneficiaries' qualifications profile. In order to agree on learning objectives and contents of the internships abroad, the participants receive access to an online database (www.evst-mobility.eu). The goal of the EVST process is to motivate the beneficiaries in a dialogue process for the active participation in the arrangement of their stay abroad in order to increase their responsibility for the learning process and to optimize the subsequent documentation of learning achievements.Cooperation partners are chambers of industry, trade and crafts as well as vocational schools from different regions of Germany and receiving partner-institutions among others in England, France, Ireland, Malta, Poland and Spain.Initially, a total amount of 275 mobility grants were applied for, which later have been reduced to 176 grants, distributed as follows in different activities.171 mobilities have been realized:3-25-week internships abroad for vocational-trainees in the dual system and in full-time training courses and scholarships for so called European Skills Training-projects and intensive professional language learning-courses abroad were the mostely used targets (162 scholarships). The 25-week work-placements and particularely shorter stays are used by graduates of vocational training, who are not taken in an employment after their final examination.Further more one-week training courses were offered to teachers from vocational schools, training centres and HR professionals in training companies. They should have got the possibility to inform themselves abroad on European trends abroad and also to experience the organization and implementation of mobility projects in practice. They should thus have become multipliers, able to inform and to advise trainees in their institutions about the added value of an internship abroad (9 scholarships). The project aims to improve the employability in particular for less-advanteged young people from rural regions, where due to the often extensively limited job offer mobility is an important prerequisite for a successful placement in the labor market.Similarly, this project intends to contribute to the regional and international networking of actors of general and vocational education and training in order to provide a better access to international mobility activities, particularly for young people from social disadvantaged groups. In addition it is intention striven for a promotion of a positive image of Europe in the target groups: More than 80% of the ruturnees express after their return, that they could imagine to live and to work in other European countries in the course of their further career due to the gained experiences within their internships abroad.

"The overall aim of all projects is to strengthen the so-called key competencies (linguistic, intercultural and social and personal skills and competences). In addition, all activities should help to develop and strengthen awareness of European values, cultural diversity and foster a strong understanding of cultural differences and how to deal with them. In the long term, this will lead to a sustainable strengthening of European solidarity and an active participation in the European labor market and in the European society. Project A1.1. + A1.5.: In this project 450 places of 450 places are awarded for learners as pool places for individual applicants from all over the Federal territory. The quality criteria for the management of pool projects are known and are observed. The project ""European Internship for Trainees“ is directed at trainees from the commercial business sector throughout Germany. The aim of the project is to strengthen the key competences and the occupational competence should be strengthened. As a result of globalization, such skills have become essential for future employees to be able to compete on the European market.A total of 316 participantswere able to start their mobility as planned and most of them were able to end their mobility completely, 14 participants had to end their mobility prematurely due to the worldwide Corona Pandemic and the associated travel warning and the announcement that all participants abroad had to return, 134 participants could not start their mobility as planned. Thus, a total of 316 participants were able to leave in groups of at least five students. Due to the uncertainty associated with the Brexit, significantly more participants than originally planned decided to carry out their mobility in Ireland rather than in the UK. The project consisted of a preparation in Germany and a three-week learning stay in the target country (Ireland, UK, Malta). In addition to the preparation in Germany, the participants received a cultural and professional introduction in the target country. The participants completed a company internship in European SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) and gained insights into the following areas: Marketing, PR and public relations, administration, accounting, logistics and warehouse management. In all internships the participants had customer contact and were thus able to use and improve their language skills in a targeted manner. The project was jointly coordinated and supervised by the host institution in the target country and the sending institution in Germany. At national level, the aim was to strengthen and promote understanding for stays abroad during the training period. Project A1.2. - A1.4: The project ""European traineeship for vocational students in Bournemouth and Torquay"" is directed to students completing a full-time school-based traineeship to become commercial assistants or educator. The aim of the project is to strengthen the key competences. In addition, the focus of the project is the insight into international corporate structures and the gathering of practical experiences. In terms of globalization, these skills have become indispensable to be competitive as a future worker in the European market. Participants with a full-time school background have a particularly higher need for practical experience and the testing of theoretical knowledge.103 participants planned a three-, four- or six-week program of which 53 participants could not start their stay due to the Corona Pandemic. Besides the originally planned destinations Bournemouth and Torquay (UK), the participants also completed their mobility in Spain and Finland due to the uncertainties regarding the Brexit. In addition to the educational and cultural preparation in Germany, the participants who took part in the four or six-week project in Bournemouth took part in a one-week linguistic and intercultural preparation at the destination. The participants who completed a three-week stay took part in a linguistic and cultural introduction on the first day of the programme. Afterwards, all participants completed the internship. The internship took place in SMEs or educational institutions. The participants, who are in commercial training, were given an insight into the areas of marketing, PR and public relations, administration, accounting, logistics and warehousing. The participants who completed training as educators were placed in educational institutions such as kindergartens or pre-schools. In addition to the sending and hosting institution, teachers were available to support the participants throughout the entire mobility process."

The Erasmus + KA102 Program has allowed us to support our students and teachers in internship activities and continuous training in the acquisition and use of knowledge, skills and qualifications for their personal development, employability and participation in the European labor market. The participants of this project have been:- 52 students of Certificados de Profesionalidad (training for unemployed people) or initial and basic VET education (mainly unemployed young people and women over 25) who have received training in our SEFED Project and who have improved their knowledge and skills in the administrative field through internships in Ireland, Italy, Lithuania or the United Kingdom. Thus, the project consisted in undertaking 52 internships in companies in Ireland, Italy, Lithuania or UK, performing administrative and management tasks during 5, 8 or 12 weeks as these students can not be out of the country for personal and employment reasons.- 28 SEFED teachers: the project has allowed us to give a unique opportunity to VET teachers of the SEFED Project so that they can share and improve their knowledge and experiences in a different country and organizational environment, including the transfer of competences and / or innovative methods and practices in the VET field. The transfer of know-how aims to improve the quality and access to continuing education, and to modernize and adapt European education and training systems.
