ESC projects officially launched in September 2016 by president of European Commission Jean- Claude Juncker. From 2016 to our day, still most of the NGOs and volunteers are confused and do not have enough understanding of ESC due to several conflicts such as; ESC guide is written by English language (by technicians, formal language) and it did not translated to other EU languages and there are new vocabulary such as quality label, ESC portal and new regulations except individual volunteering comes as solidarity projects, volunteering in humanitarian aid, volunteering teams in high priority areas. For this reason with this training course we wanted to achieve;-To help other youth workers/youth leaders/educators/beginners develop their knowledge quality label, skills, and attitudes to organize ESC projects.-Give our partners practical information of OLS (Online Linguistics Support), European Solidarity Corps portal, Cigna insurance, activity agreement between partners and how to develop a ESC projects for beginners.-To raise awareness and teach all details of ESC projects, extend the impact with project result products (guide and Youtube video), engage stakeholders and target groups.-To share best practices and know how, influence the practice of ESC and develop new partnership.-To foster solidarity in the European society by engaging more young people and more organizations in accessible and high-quality solidarity activities.,Objectives of our projects were;-To equip participants with the useful information about quality label, volunteering projects, traineeship opportunities ESC projects offer.-To provide support about other basic ESC elements like OLS, ESC portal, Cigna and agreements.-To improve participant’s skills in project management related to international youth and volunteering activities.-To offer an individual and group learning experience through a simulated process on setting up a ESC project based on non-formal learning practice, principles, and quality standards of the European projects.-To promote creation of ESC in partner's NGOs.-To offer the opportunity to meet trustable partners and to make contacts for future ESC collaborations.-To improve cultural awareness and language skills of participants.-After our project some NGOs organised a public event in their country and reach as many people as possible, they promoted ESC opportunities, we also created a Youtube video and we created simply ESC guide for Salto-youth web page, therefore we aim to reach many European NGO and youth workers & give more visibility to ESC.<< Implementation >>Activities that we implemented:The activities touch many aspects of European Solidarity corps; they are individual volunteering, solidarity projects, volunteering in humanitarian aid, volunteering teams in high priority areas. Which countries are permitted to organize them, what type of activities?-Stairway to heaven workshop, where we discover all the steps of a European volunteer projects (Which steps should be followed? Selection of volunteer, insurance, Activity Agreement, application form, VISA, travel, preperation).-Tips from Brussels (Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency) about quality label-Visit to other NGO in Ankara to see local perspective of projects and volunteering, also give change to our participants to learn first-hand examples of good practices-Case studies and simulation activities as for conflict resolution, how to find solutions-To discover quality label and ESC application form with Philadelphia 66 method.-National Evenings to promote the intercultural background & cultural awareness of the project.-Reflection and Evaluation activities, Youthpass to evaluate learning results.-Preparing a simplified guide in which we explained the European Solidarity Program and sharing the results on the Salto-Youth site, making it available to stakeholders, allowing everyone to benefit from our project,-Creation of Youtube video to give visibility to Erasmus+ projects and youth work, -Open space to create the chance to initiate new project among of the partners of the project. The working methods promoted active participation, exchange of points of views, teamwork and cooperation. They are based on informal and non-formal education as Philadelphia 66, Topsy-Turvy, simulations, world café, online evaluation tools such as Kahoot and mentimeter as well as Prezi presentations. We use the learning based on experimentation, learning by doing, sharing effective practices, successful case studies; We promoted self-reflection in brainstorming sessions each day and evaluation of skills acquired as the project in general.Number of participants and profile:There have been youth workers, youth leaders, high school and university students working on a voluntary basis, people working in non-governmental organizations, young people who want to learn about the European solidarity program, educators and association coordinators.A total of 23 participants, 5 from Turkey, 4 from Spain, and 2 from our other partners, took part in our project. 13 of these participants came from disadvantaged groups geographically, economically and culturally. Participants from disadvantaged groups were mostly youth leaders and people working in associations on a voluntary basis. These people consisted of people who either work without a salary or have low living standards, since youth work is not developed much in their country and their work is perceived as a 'hobby'. Other of our participants are cultural absorbed working on their local community with the local cultural background and methods but not so well knowing the standards EU youth skills and methods used on international youth work. Lastly, we had participants that came from geographically disadvantaged places.<< Results >>Local & National Level:-We had 'Volunteers in action activity' there participants communicated with public and promote ESC, in that way we reached young people who never heard about ESC and gave direct promotion and visibility. For this purpose, we visited institutions located in Kızılay Olgunlar Street and the aims and possibilities of ESC were explained, ESC informative flyers were given to students.-We had NGO visit and there our aim were improving the communication between youth workers and NGOs, to ensure that best practices known by more people. Beside it, we plan that our partners and visited NGO create communication for future cooperation.-Youth workers who work only in local level and youth workers who work in international level discovered their potential, learned all detailed information about ESC.-With our project, the importance of being volunteer with ESC and the awareness of Youthpass was explained to universities students and decision makers. Participants coming from Hacı Bayram Veli and Ankara University shared our project with their friends and in their social media accounts.-Project results shared with other NGOs who organize ESC projects, in that way we aim to reach many NGOs by our e-guide where we explain about ESC and share our best practices.-With the dissemination activities of the Limit Gökyüzünde such as simplified ESC guide published on the Salto website, the video on our Youtube channel and Instagram live broadcasts, more young people have been informed about ESC possibilities. Partners Level:-NGOs who are experienced in Erasmus+ but know little or nothing about ESC, improved their knowledge and learned about how to write ESC project, important points in volunteer selection, calculating budget, activities to support volunteer, OLS, Cigna, agreements between partners and Youthpass teaching for volunteers with informal techniques.-In 45 days after our project ends, some of our partners organized an activity to promote our project in their country, thanks to this activity our project disseminated in more languages and youth workers got experience by doing it.- Our partners have included people who work on a voluntary basis (with or without a salary, come from disadvantaged geographical areas and have cultural & social difficulties) to our project and have them gain international experience.-Communication between our trainers from Spanish association and our Turkish group has been strengthened, and the experience of the Spanish trainers and our group has increased.- Our partners were given the necessary tips about European Solidarity Projects and encouraged to take part in ADP and create projects.- With the networking activity we have done, it has been ensured that our partners establish partnerships for their future projects.European Level:-Simple guide to explain ESC and contain best practices of ESC shared in Salto-Youth. (SALTO-YOUTH works within the Erasmus+ Youth programme, the EU programme for education, training, youth and sport)-Some of our partners were responsible for the dissemination of our project in their own countries after our project was over. Our partners represent a large part of the countries that make up the European Union and it was expected to reach many young people & youth workers through the dissemination activities of each partner in their own country.-After our project, some of our participants started to write their own projects and it was aimed to increase the solidarity in Europe by giving young people the opportunity to take part in these projects.- The footage we recorded during our project, the views of our participants and the video we prepared with sections from our activities were shared with other European institutions, especially our partners, on our Youtube channel.-Our Spanish partner shared our project on the Anna Lindh network, to which more than 3000 thousand associations are affiliated, and our other partners shared our project on their web, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok pages. Visibility was given to ESC and awareness of this program was increased.-In order to give wider impact, through instagram live broadcast, we explained what is ESC and our project to our followers.

The participant were students and unemployed young people, with fewer opportunities as social minorities (migrants), economical disadvantages, geographical difficulties, (racist-inclusive regions) and rural areas, most of them were participating first time in Erasmus+ projects. The project joins 2 topics apparently, the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 and the foreigners&migration&refugee issues.Cultural heritage brings people together and contributes to more cohesive societies, it is central to Europe’s exchanges with the rest of the world. This is a great potential for Europe and it must be better exploited. For this reason we wanted to celebrate all together European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, to see the common cultural elements that we share (all the countries of the project), how we share customs and influence in each other culture, how we conform Europe. We also wanted to bring the aspect of migration (also refugee). Not because is trendy topic, but because we want to correct prejudices and false messages that promote discrimination. The countries who were bridges between people (countries) have richer traditions and culture. Many of our elements what we consider traditional and typical (food, dance, etc.) from our country has its origin in other culture, that thanks to move of people (migration) come to us. In our project, participants coming from different cultures motivated to discover common points by several type of activities. General Objectives: -Encourage young people to explore Europe's rich and diverse cultural heritage and reinforce a sense of belonging to a common European space. -Develop intercultural skills of participants through creative activities (socks theater, cart game, drama). -Discover how rumours and prejudices prevent good relations among people, especially against migrants and refugees. Specific Objectives: 1-Finding out how our cultural heritage bring elements from different cultures through gastronomy, history, music, art. 2-Discover all together our common elements in our traditions as Europeans. 3-Finding out what the contributions of migrants on our traditions are. 4-Foster the emotional learning to promote tolerance to other cultures and religions(islam) through drama and creative activities. 5-Know differences and similarities migrants, refugees, asylum seekers. Besides know about horizon 2020, creative Europe and European heritage days. 6-Share the European cultural year and Erasmus+ projects with public. 7-Promote Erasmus+ youth projects (EVS and European Civic Service), Youthpass and the year of cultural heritage. We used diverse types of activities to achieve the objectives. The methodology was based in non-formal education and informal learning. To get together the group we had dynamics, drama and games; workshops to learn about the programme: Erasmus+ youth and Youthpass; to contact, interact and increase the visibility and local population impact we had the Gymkhana and the exhibition in mall (Cepa mall) with info stands, flash mob, videos, workshops. To understand, compare and share our cultures the National Evenings and workshops about culture and heritage; creative activities such as socks theatre to share it on Youtube and European Cultural heritage card game to play it with local people in Mall, we used drama and art techniques to promote it. Dynamic and workshop (from SALTO youth and council of Europe) to work about prejudices, and discrimination about migrants and refugees, as well as understand the contribution of migrants to our European culture and heritage. We had evaluations with visual methods. We made tasks division, where all the young people shared responsibilities and the implementation of energisers, NE and workshops. We used the work in small teams, with activities that catch the interest of the young people and include emotional learning. We encouraged the full participation of the participants and reflection in every activity to measure the development of the project (and evaluate the learning results). As results: -Campaign Stop Rumours by socks theatre and we shared it in Youtube. -We did promotion of Erasmus+ and year of EU cultural heritage to local population and flash mob in CEPA Mall. -We gave awareness of refugees, migrants’ situation, culture&religion. -We collected traditions that have in common in Europe. -More active young people. -We created one card game for European Year of Cultural Heritage. -We uploaded a toolkit in SALTO with relevant activities and card game. Thanks to activities that we implemented in Mall and gymkhana, it was an impact on the local people, raising the visibility of Erasmus+ and EU culture; the participants are more tolerant to migrants and other groups and be more aware of their cultures.

It is the continuation of previous work fostering equality among young people in 2 seminars (2008, 2014) and youth exchanges. It responds to the demand of young LGBT people and our partners, due to their lack of training and support resources for these young people, especially in multicultural groups. It is aimed at youth workers, youth leaders, educators, people working with youth; 12 participants with fewer opportunities: immigrants, refugees, LGBT+, rural areas, cultural minorities, with economic difficulties. There will be 22 participants from 10 programme countries Spain, Italy, Poland, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Estonia, Sweden, including 2 Non EU: FYROM, Turkey; & 1 Eastern Partnership country: Armenia. All will collaborate for 5 months (July-Dec). The meeting will take place from 8-15 October 2018 in Andalusia, in Sanlúcar de Bda. (Cádiz), a coastal town of 67,000 inhabitants with traditional character and the highest unemployment rates in Spain (33%). The main goal of the training course GET READY TO INCLUDE LGBT+ is to develop the competencies of participants (and organizations) to improve inclusion of LGBT youth in E+ projects and in society. Competences will be developed to empower LGBT people and to raise tolerance, empathy and acceptance of the mainstream groups, through deeper knowledge of sexual diversity, cultural diversity, equality, discrimination, and by using methods of non-formal education to fight discrimination caused by sexual orientation. Firstly, we will create a supportive learning environment, establishing respectful coexistence rules to create a safe/learning environment. Secondly, we will work to create one team. Third, work the topic of the project: inclusion, cultural diversity and youth work. Various methods of non-formal education will be used to provide knowledge, awareness and tools to work for inclusion with the heterosexual majority and the LGBT minority through workshops, group dynamics, role plays, case studies, guest real stories, tests, cinema forum, roundtable with local politicians. Including local population in 6 activities: city game with LGBT surveys, human library, street art, reception in the townhall, intercultural night, Youthpass delivery. In addition, participants will learn in a practical way 4 NFE methods during the course. Participants will be involved in all phases of the project with support of partners, including visibility and DEOR activities. The program of activities is flexible to meet the needs of participants during the preparation stage by a personal questionnaire. The workshops will be implemented by a multidisciplinary team: 1 educator of Fundación Triángulo de Jerez expert in LGBT+ sensitization and support; 1 expert in intercultural learning and conflict resolution, 1 facilitator of Demeter, expert on equality since 2008 and on mobility programs since 1999. We will use different methods to evaluate the project in each phase, formal methods like questionnaires, analysis meetings, reports; Daily sessions for learning reflection with different non formal educación methods; a personal diary (digital or paper) will be provided; non-formal education methods such as World Cafes to share information and learn from each other about competencies, Erasmus + and Youthpass. The most anticipated outcome of the short-term training course is mainly to raise awareness among youth workers and therefore their environments about sexual diversity, improving their professional skills to work effectively with minorities and majorities at local and European level in multicultural groups, providing methods of non-formal education for the inclusion of all young people; broadening the knowledge of European cultures, esp. on social, labour, educational and political discrimination. We also hope that this project will serve to create synergy against homophobia with LGBT associations, youth centers and local authorities; banishing the idea that fighting discrimination based on sexual orientation is only a matter for LGBT groups. The creation of inclusion products (digital guide and Facebook page) will increase the awareness and training of other people, organizations and institutions throughout Europe. Short-term, we expect to increase the number of projects on inclusion, on LGBT; number of young people with fewer opportunities participating in E +, especially LGBT with greater guarantees of inclusion, in the short-medium term. In conclusion, in long term, the benefit of the training course GET READY TO INCLUDE LGBT+ will be to live in a Europe that is more peaceful, more equal, fairer and respectful towards diversity."

There are many NGOs that do not feel safe enough or have difficulty understanding the guidelines written by the European Commission. They don't see the advantages of joining international volunteering and feel a bit lost to start ESC projects. For this reason, we have created this training course GET INTO ESC!, to share our information and experiences on Erasmus+ and ESC to help others develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to organize ESC projects, based on non-formal learning, the exchange of good practices and quality standards. The European Voluntary Service (EVS) has been running for decades; however, the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is a new program that comes with new procedures that youth workers and NGOs are not familiar with; but it is also a broader program, which brings new and convenient possibilities. In addition to the usual volunteer activities, it comes with solidarity projects, jobs and internships.ESC projects were officially launched in September 2016 by the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker. From 2016 to the present day, most of the NGOs and volunteers are still confused and do not have enough knowledge of the ESC due to various conflicts such as; the ESC guide is written by technicians, the formal language with new concepts (such as the quality label, the ESC portal) and the new regulations that come with the ESC (such as priority areas and solidarity projects). For this reason, with this training course we wanted to achieve:-Help other youth workers/youth leaders/educators/beginners to develop their quality label, knowledge, skills and attitudes to organize ESC projects.-Give our partners practical information on OLS (Online Linguistics Support), European Solidarity Corps portal, Cigna insurance, activity agreement between partners and how to develop an ESC project efficiently.-Be aware and teach all the details of ESC projects, amplify the impact with project results products (guide and YouTube video), involve stakeholders and target groups.-Share good practice and knowledge, influence ESC practice and develop new partnerships.-Promote solidarity in European society by involving more young people and more organizations in high-quality and accessible solidarity activities. The specific objectives of the project GET INTO ESC! have been:- Provide the necessary information about the quality label and the ESC projects (internships, work and volunteering).- Provide practical information on the essential elements of the ESC (OLS, ESC portal, forms, mobility tool...)- Improve the skills of the participants in the management of projects related to volunteering activities in Europe.- Create a learning experience through a simulation process of creating a ESC project based on non-formal learning and the quality standards of European projects.- Promote the ESCs to the new NGOs that join.- Provide a guide for the management of conflicts and emergency situations.- Offer the opportunity to meet trusted partners to network for future ESC collaborations. -After our project, each NGO will organize a public event in their country and reach as many people as possible, promote the CES opportunities, we will also create a video on YouTube and create a simple ESC guide, therefore, our goal is to reach many European NGOs and youth workers and give more visibility to the ESC.<< Implementation >>TC GET INTO ESC! ACTIVITIES:The activities touch on many aspects of the European Solidarity Corps:-What is volunteering, to be able to correctly identify it as opposed to a job or an internship. What kind of activities?-Workshop Stairway to Heaven, where we discover all the steps of a European volunteer project (What steps and order should be followed? Selection of the volunteer, insurance, activity agreement, application form, VISA, travel, preparation).-Advice from the Spanish NA on the program and the quality label.-Meet the European volunteers and see the local and regional perspective of the projects and volunteering, also give our participants the opportunity to ask their questions.-Case studies and simulation activities regarding conflict resolution, how to find solutions.-Discover the quality label and the ESC application form with the Philadelphia 66 method.-Reflection and Evaluation Activities, Youthpass to evaluate learning outcomes.-Debate on emergency situations and provide tools and methods to work with young people in times of pandemic, offering complementary activities to carry out with young people in an online version.-Creation of a simple guide to the ESC process.-Creation of a video on YouTube to give visibility to Erasmus+ projects and work with young people.-Open space to create the possibility of starting a new project among the project partners. The working methods have promoted active participation, the exchange of points of view, teamwork and cooperation. They are based on informal and non-formal education such as Philadelphia 66, Topsy-Turvy, simulations, world café, online assessment tools such as Kahoot and Mentimeter, as well as Prezi presentations. We have used experiential learning, learning by doing, sharing of effective practices, success case studies; we have promoted self-reflection in brainstorming sessions each day and assessment of skills gained from the project in general.PARTICIPANTS:The participants have been +18 years old, youth workers, youth leaders, educators, NGO workers, ESC coordinators and mentors. They are professionals and/or volunteers who already have or will have responsibilities in their organizations as mentors, tutors or coordinators of ESC and wish to create volunteer projects, solve doubts and acquire new skills. The participants have been diverse to increase the impact and the result of the project, one of the members of the group being the one with the most experience in working with young people and the other younger with the profile of learning to become a future tutor, mentor or youth worker. The partners have also contributed some skills and knowledge to the project, bringing some specific knowledge as the case of Romania with digital learning.5 participants from Spain and 2 participants from each of the associated NGOs, in total 25 participants. They have been youth workers (such as Romania or Turkey) but, at the same time, participants with fewer opportunities due to different reasons, such as low economic income (derived from the non-recognition of youth work in most of the countries of the participants, they have low salaries as youth workers or are unemployed as youth volunteers, still dependent on family income). For example, the Polish, Italian and Armenian participants.Other participants are culturally absorbed working in their local community with local cultural backgrounds and methods, but are less familiar with EU standards on international youth work skills and methods. Semper Avanti, the Polish partner has this background of fewer opportunities. In the project we provide participants with a European dimension in youth work and volunteering.Other participants coming from remote places and rural areas, on the other side of Europe (Turkey, Armenia, Italy or Estonia). Also with participants from an ethnic minority, Circassia, in Turkey. In a number of these countries, skepticism of the EU has been on the rise over the past year and thus negatively affects its work with young people and national funds. We are 11 partners from France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Armenia, Romania, Turkey and obviously Spain.<< Results >>We have increased the number of young people and organizations that are aware of the E+ and CES program in each partner country Spain, Estonia, Latvia, Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Romania, Turkey, Armenia, involving 17 organizations from 10 countries:-During the ""Volunteers in action"" activity, the participants communicated with the local population to promote the CES and E+, reaching more young people and citizens who do not have access to the Internet and do not know our organization or work.-We did an interview on the radio show, Frontera Radio on September 10, 2022 for Erasmus+ and CES to reach more young people and local organizations at a local and regional level.-They have known another model of volunteering based on cooperation at the local and regional level: Cádiz volunteering platform, a group of NGOs managed by volunteers to promote volunteering at the local level for social purposes. They have known the Spanish and Andalusian regulations of the volunteering law as a model for other countries. It has also served to interact, make contacts and ensure that best practices are known by more people. Also, we plan for our partners to create an interaction for future cooperation.-We have promoted the ESC volunteering projects and the importance of the Youthpass in educational centers and those responsible for decision-making at the local level (House of Youth of Jerez, Delegation of Citizen Participation and Youth of the Jerez townhall, regional Youth Institute (IAJ Cádiz). The participants with a university profile have promoted the project among their friends, colleagues and relatives, they have shared the information about the project on IG and FB. In addition, we maintain a collaboration with secondary schools (such as IES Andrés Benítez), and youth institutions such as the IAJ of Cádiz where we will make presentations of the results of the project.-More young people and more NGOs (youth workers, mentors, educators, tutors, coordinators, youth leaders) have been able to learn about the ESC through dissemination activities in each country through online/offline presentations of the project and products, in 10 different languages.-Approach and cooperation with the Spanish NA to better understand the ESC and our orgs.Impact PARTICIPANTS:-Participants from 17 European organizations are better able to create ESC volunteering projects: they know more about the program, what volunteering is and what it is not, key elements, recommendations and advice to create and implement quality projects.-Through the session with ESC volunteers and a trainer of the ESC mid-term evaluation of the NA of Spain, and a conflict resolution session, the participants are better able to deal with the difficulties of the ESC volunteers, they have known what they are the experiences, needs, conflicts and specific and most common difficulties of the volunteers, as well as possible measures to solve them.-17 NGOs with experience in Erasmus+ but who know little or nothing about ESC, have improved their knowledge and have learned how to write the ESC project, important points in the selection of volunteers, budget calculation, volunteer support activities, OLS, Cigna , partner agreements and teaching of the Youthpass for volunteers.-Participants with fewer opportunities (low-wage workers or volunteers, living in a disadvantaged demographic situation and with social and cultural challenges) have gained international experience, enjoyed the opportunities of E+ and felt more part of the EU.-Further strengthening of cooperation between partners and the European youth network of AJ Inter.-Thanks to the activity of the ""fish market"", our partners have had the opportunity to initiate future collaborations and discuss future projects of ESC and E+.AT EUROPEAN LEVEL:-Simple guide to explain the ESC to beginners and provide good practices, with practical information and accessible online for free on our website and Salto-Youth.-C/partner has organized dissemination activities with its participants in their mother tongue, online (IG, FB, web) and offline, they have created presentations and workshops to disseminate the products, the results of the project, methods and good practices learned (video on the activities and memories of our projects, ESC guide for beginners, videos and photographs of the participants themselves) inviting members, volunteers, other local NGOs, local/regional networks, educators and youth professionals.-New cooperation and ESC projects between the project partners and other partners, strengthening and increasing the cooperation network at European level.-Inter will share the results of the project with Anna Lindh's network (more than 3,000 NGOs in her network) at the network's meetings.
