All partners in this strategic learning partnership are deeply interested in our chosen common topic: democracy/active citizenship education and environmental education through urban beekeeping. Our goal in our strategic partnership was to use urban beekeeping as tool of deeper understanding of active citizenship and practicing participatory democracy. We used urban beekeeping as an environmental educational activity, and we also created youth program and our local beekeeper learning groups. Local groups in Portugal, Hungary, Spain, Germany met regularly and did bee-keeping activity e.g. setting bee hives, making bee hotel, bee wax canvas etc. The members of the group learned practical knowledge, that they can use in their everyday life, learned about environmental problems of cities. This type of community activity re-established the connection between young people and healthy food production, contributes to a sense of involvement and inclusion, re-engage people at risk into our community, and increases citizen responsibility by giving them a sense that they do have the power to make changes in their city.4 partner organisations also created a special educational material together during the blended mobility. Our Blended mobility lasted 12 days. Started with physical meeting in Barcelona, where our youthgroups met and changed ideas, experience, designed the virtual (on line) mobility. The virtual (on line) mobility we invited bee- and democracy experts (professors) to give lectures via video conferences and we were studied bee-democracy to learn about bee democracy and social democracy. This part was important to achieve the final goal of our project that was named in the title of our project: Let’s learn deep and flavourful democracy from bees. And we believe that the youth participating in this project became more active citizens. Their entrepreneur skills, communication and leadership skills improved.During the 9 days of virtual mobility 4 organization worked together to write an Urban bee-keeping guide based on the expert meetings. This guide we as an Intellectual output, though there was no named in our proposal.
