Its production accounts for a fifth of the world market and employs more than 12.1 million people. It is obvious that this sector is one of the most important field of investment, with 41.5 billion yearly expense for research and development. Nevertheless, the industry needs to modernize constantly, in order to be always competitive. With this purpose, ICT may play a significant role in maintaining the position of automotive industry in the world market. As a matter of fact, both are characterized by the need of increasing the competences of internal resources - from top Manager to qualified employee - and investing, in a process of continuous update and training of its staff, as regards non only the operational activities, but the development of wide competences as well.In this contest, the project “TECH in VET - Technology in Vocational and Educational Training” aimed at promoting mobility experiences abroad for 100 recent graduates in the field of automotive and ICT industry, which had the opportunity of carrying out a 122 - day internship abroad, more precisely in Belgium, United Kingdom and Ireland. In order to facilitate their entrance in the labour market, the participants had the opportunity to participate in professional experiences in hosting companies abroad, characterized by: - the use of innovative learning methods and tools based on the “learning by doing”; - the cooperation and connection between the School and the labour market, in order to have a real and concrete exchange.""TECH in VET"" has achieved the specific objectives set, producing a positive impact on the participants, measurable both in qualitative and quantitative terms:- 30% of the participants received a job offer/continued professional training in the host company abroad;- 35% found work opportunity in Italy on return, in companies operating in the sector of reference;- 25% opted for the continuation of the higher education (University, advanced training courses) in order to complete the personal job profile;- 10% is made up of those who intended to carry out other professional experiences to enrich the technical and practical skills before finding a job (some participants have, for example, taken part in other Erasmus + mobility projects);- moreover, 85% of the participants declared that they have improved their technical and professional skills through mobility, considering, moreover, increasing the chances of finding work both in Italy and in an international context;- the mobility experience served to clarify future expectations and professional goals for approximately 90% of participants;- 80% of participants said to have improved transversal skills (critical thinking, flexibility, spirit of initiative, problem solving, team working), in addition to communication and expression skills in the foreign language. The achievement of these percentages, together with a medium-high level of satisfaction expressed by the totality of the participants, is indicative of a generally positive impact of ""TECH in VET"". As for participating organizations (Educational Institutions, the Municipality of Bologna, Unindustria Bologna, Formamentis Srl, Confimi and the companies involved), the partnership has obtained an improvement in the ability to cooperate at a European level by strengthening the collaboration with some institutions and establishing new contacts with foreign actors; the acquisition of new working methods to improve the training offer in the field of vocational training and the adoption of an innovative working modus operandi, in line with the European proposals and the international context; the development and implementation of the internationalization strategies of the single entities; the improvement of training evaluation and verification methods together with the collection of inputs for the integration of learning and teaching approaches adapted to the professional needs of the local companies."

KGFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2017-1-IT01-KA116-005666Funder Contribution: 231,707 EUR"The Novara area, hinge between the North-Mediterranean and East-Western EU, suffers from years of economic decline, a situation that severely affects young people: ISTAT 2016 data confirm a youth unemployment rate (15-24 years) of 42.8% (mean value Italy 37.9%, EU 22%), of which 18% NEET. The increase in adult unemployment has led to a significant increase in the nr of families in difficulty (of which 6% in a state of poverty) and the need, in relation to professional training, to promptly and flexibly prepare young people with respect to the requirement of “openness” and internationalization demanded by a profoundly changed market and also by a society that has to simultaneously cope with the social and working inclusion of a large number of resident migrant families: 37,400 foreign citizens (10% of the population), of which 4,185 young people. In order to contribute to the recovery of its territory, the CSCI has long developed a strategy of internationalization among whose objectives the following are of particular importance: a) The professionalization of High School students of the consortium institutions, by encouraging them to complement and strengthen the skills acquired in school/ training, by working closely with non-Italian European companies b) The strengthening of a European prospective in the education and vocational training of the Novara area, by encouraging teachers / school staff to undertake job shadowing mobility experiences in other non-Italian European facilities, in order to acquire methodological, didactic, substantive and organizational best practices that would strengthen local training initiatives. SWEET2017, by introducing important changes compared to the previous edition, has enhanced even further the experience: 1) Students – with whom “tailored” mobility experiences have been defined, and also documented by storytelling. By the ""flipped classroom"" method, tutors have guided the students to share the experience transforming the subjective insights in shared objective experience and have guided them to create a personalized career plan, adapting their professional goals to real abilities and aspirations. 2) Teachers / school staff – that after the conclusion of the experience have been encouraged to share feedback: - With colleagues, in the closing event on 26/09 and during a workshop in the 2018/2019 school year, coinciding with the presentation of the sweet2018 activities - With students, through a lesson in a foreign language using teaching methods, technology and experiences gained through the mobility experience In the 2017/2018 school year, ""SWEET2017"" has promoted: - 90 * 5 weeks mobility placements, aimed at students of the fourth year (priority has been given to students from poor families) + 12.5% compared to 2016 in combination with - 15 * 2 weeks mobilities for teachers/ school staff (priority has been given to CLIL teachers) + 50% compared to 2016 of the 13 Technical/Vocational Institutes and vocational lyceums in Novara area which are CSCI members. The mobility, which took place through an agreement with nr. 7 entities located in ES, FR, HU, DE, IE, MT, has been validated on the basis of ECVET criteria and has been organized, in the logic of EQAVET quality, as per plan presented to obtain the Mobility Card The activities, divided into months and detailed in the plan, are: 1-2: Start Up - Finding a tutor and mentor in Italy and abroad; Coordination Committee constitution; agreement definition with the partnership 3-5: Selection of candidates - Information activities on the project; selection (written and oral) and validation activities (ranking system by defining the beneficiaries of the grants and possible reserves); Match between selected candidates and destinations. 6-8: Preparation of participants (orientation, soft skills and language strengthening); Accommodation and companies/identified schools confirmation; transfers organization; MOU and LA signing 9: Departure of candidates and internships start (work placements, tutoring and mentoring) 10-12: Placement end (compilation and reporting back), meetings with the participants (follow-up), validation of acquired skills. 1-12: Organization, coordination and management - Monitoring and Evaluation of the project activities - Dissemination Project start date 11.01.2017; Duration: 12 months. N. 8 escorts have accompanied (one for each group) students with minors, VISA or need to change the means of transport during the journey. The activity last 7 days (5 on-site and 2 travelling) during which accommodation of the participants and their integration in the context was verified. Thanks to the assistance received on the first part of the journey and to the skills acquired through mobility the students were able to travel alone on their return journey. In case of maltese students' group,CSCI organized an “accompaniment” service during the return journey."

On the basis on different indicators, it is confirmed that in Italy there is a very difficult condition for what concerns the youth unemployment rate (aged between 15-24) at 36,4% (Istat data october 2016), this date is above the european average, despite it is the lowest since 2012; the italian labour market, on the basis on Istat data, seems infact more favourable for the over 50 (+0,9%). The NEET (aged between 15 – 29) are 2,5 millions (26,9%), is constantly growing from 19,5% in 2007, and even more alarming is that the 32% of them is going through this situation for over a year (OCSE data 20015). Consequently, the project aims to favour and promote: - Transition processes for young people into the labour market; - Reintegration processes of young people into education paths; - Continous staff training to favour “changing” processes; - Intercultural approaches. The 250 VET learners involved in the project are: - included in IVET training paths (2,3 e 4 annuality); - qualified young people, since no more than one year, in the following sectors: heating and plumbing, mechanic, electric, restaurant (cookery, bar), food processing (bakery), wellness (hairstyle and beauty), graphics and multimedia, administrative, tailoring and fashion. VET learners mobilities will have a length of 2,3 and 4 weeks in Spain, Ireland, UK, German, Austria and France. The length of the mobiliy and the choise of the destination country will be closely linked to the tipology of Learning Outcomes identified in each youngster's mobility programme. The realization of the mobilities will refer to “the guide to transnational mobility services” (http://www.scformazione.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/guida-servizi-GORES-sett2016-IT-5.pdf) pubblished by SCF to facilitate and to promote awareness among the operators of the sending and the hosting organizations in terms of: - selection of the destination country on the base on the companies/sectors excellences to guarantee padagogical quality; - choise of the mobility lenght in line with the training project of the beneficiaries (training as: strengthening of the acquired competences, intercultural experience; training embedded with the formal path; work experience in addition to the learning path); - selection of the learning outcomes to be acquired during the mobility through valorization formulas (reuse of the knowledges and of the skills acquired abroad, transfer peer to peer) or utilization of “recognition” procedures through collecting, evaluation and validation tools foreseen by GORES. In particular it will be used in an experimental way the web platform that SCF, presented to the DoYourMob event 2016. The 50 VET Staff mobilities are addressed to different professional figures (Trainers, coordinators, tutor, educator) involved in training activities (both professionalised and cultural), tutoring, training on the job, orientation, supporting on the job, etc. The main proposed topic is the didactic innovation, observed from different perspectives and in particular: - work-based learning, digital teaching or in general learning through technologies; - internationalization of competences. For these mobilities we distinguish between to 2 competence areas, in accordance with both Young People and Adult “Target” - in the first one: IVET learners, including young people at despersion risk, with a physical and mental disadvantage, immigrants and unaccompanied migrant children; - in the second one: people over 18 (vulnerable persons in generale, e.g. unemployed, immigrants, people with disabilities), with a particular attention to NEET The VET staff mobilities will last 3-5 days (included travel days)in Spain, France, UK, Finland, Austria and Ireland. The project foresees, also, 10 training paths of 12 days in Uk and in Ireland for the English language training. For the VET staff mobility, SCF wants to invest on methodologies: * WBL in accordance with: - the coordination of its own network concerning the Dual System experimentation, in collaboration with CONFAP and FORMA (www.lanostraviaduale.it); - The promotion of the didactic enterprise in terms of pedagogical innovation. *Media Education in accordance with the investement started in 2013 with the Project INN.
