The secondary school Virgen de las Nieves has extensive experience in European projects and wants to keep participating in Erasmus+ projects in order to provide innovative and quality education that could suit the current needs of the labour market and the European reality. That is why this school applies for a Vocational Training Project aimed to students and teachers. The activity for students consists of internships in companies of Italy, specifically in Palermo and Forlì: 42 students will be sent to Italy for 3 months, divided into 2 flows of 21 students; one group will go during the school year 2017/2018 and the other one during 2018/2019. Among the students’ profiles there are students of Basic Vocational Training and Initial Vocational Training. The fields of Basic Vocational Training are Car maintenance and Electricity. Regarding Initial Vocational Training, we can find fields such as Electromechanics in motor vehicles, Carpentry and Furniture, Technician in telecommunication installations, Electromechanical maintenance, Machining and Electromechanics of machinery. In addition, to promote equality of opportunities, this school encourages the participation of students at risk of social exclusion, mainly among the groups of Basic Vocational Training. This year also includes, for the first time, two students with hearing impairment in every flow sent to Italy. For this reason, we ask for the participation of accompanying teachers. In case of students with specials needs, these teachers will have knowledge of sign language interpreting in order to accompany them during the whole internship. In case of possible minors or students at risk of social exclusion, one accompanying teacher will be sent to Palermo and another one to Forlì during the first and last week in order to guarantee the project quality. Moreover, the activity aimed to teachers, will consist of job-shadowing in schools of Vocational Training in Germany and Finland. This school has collaborated previously with these partners and wants to keep collaborating because of the quality of its education provided in both countries. This way, we pretend that a bigger number of teachers could broaden their knowledge in training projects, ICT, administrative management, monitoring strategies, etc… and that good internships could be promoted. Participating teachers teach lessons in Vocational Training in specific subjects as well as in common subjects. This project is divided into three parts: “before”, “during” and “after” the mobility. Before the mobility, logistical and quality aspects will be organized. The school will be in touch with the project partners to arrange accommodation, transport, training programme and the different agreements between the parts involved in the project. The flight tickets and insurances will be managed as well as the preparation of the participants in order to facilitate the integration in the country. During the mobility, accompanying teachers, intermediary and host organisations will take part in monitoring process of students at the school. Managers of the school will be in contact by email and by telephone with different organisations. This monitoring process will be supervised by the accompanying teachers. Furthermore, participants will regularly complete assessment sheets and a final evaluation of the project that will make easier the monitoring and evaluation of the project. After the mobility, meetings with participants will be organised to make a final assessment and to analyse the results of the project. Those results will be disseminated through webpages, European result platform, local press, briefings, etc. With this project we pretend to improve the knowledge and professional competences, linguistic and technical skills as well as the intercultural knowledge of every participant. The school Virgen de las Nieves wants to offer quality education and to promote the continuous training of educational staff. This way, students would be able to improve their profile and acquire a greater autonomy, which will broaden their professional opportunities and will reduce in the future the employment rate. In addition to teaching of specific subjects in Vocational Training, our job is to teach qualified citizens, with autonomy and European values, to face difficulties in our society and in the labour market. For this reason, the school wants to keep taking part in this type of European projects and to keep promoting international education to achieve these goals.

"The project “JAÉN+: Formación Profesional con Plus en Europa” is an initiative of the Provincial Council of Jaén, which acts as promoter and principal beneficiary, together with 10 educational institutions in the province (from 7 to 10 after an expansion of partners of the consortium in the 1st amendment). Furthermore, the Provincial Council collaborates with the Delegación Provincial de Educación de la Junta de Andalucía (Education Regional Ministry) to make “Jaén+”, with a mid term view and after consecutive future projects, a provincial project for the improvement of personal, professional and linguistic skills of the students of middle-level training program and those with training leading to obtaining certificates of professional qualification of level 2. The main objective is the increase of their employability in the provincial labour market. Thanks to this international mobility, students will be able to carry out professional internships in companies of Europe, both in training in work centres (FCT) and extracurricular internships. For that reason, the mobility of graduates is prioritised. After an analysis of the labour demand of the provincial companies and those professions with greater perspectives (where there is a need for the development of linguistic and personal competences –autonomy, conflict resolution, maturity…-) together with an analysis of the educative offer in professional training centres, the professional groups which will be the core of the project were identified: Plastic sector; Administrative management; Administration and finance; Trade and marketing; Electricity and electronics; Computing; Communications; Nurse assistant; Kitchen and catering. The project was approved with a total of 70 mobilities of 9 weeks to the following destinations: Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Poland and the United Kingdom. Both the number of requests (36) and the effective mobilities (19) were lower; principally due to fears and lack of referents in the rural context of the potential participants and their families (17 of the 36 requests were abandoned or renounced before the mobility). These results should be contextualized as a first step in the mid-term improvement towards the change of awareness about the opportunities of the professional training internationalization, taking into account that in a province where there is a majority of rural municipalities, they are traditionally isolated and lack of habits and awareness about these kinds of competitive opportunities.Precisely for this reason, high quality mobilities have been made for the satisfaction of these first participants, as they are the fundamental base for the growth of participants in future projects. After a common selection process in all the centres through public call for selection of participants and grants; that was previously agreed in the Mobility Committee created by the Provincial Council and all partner centres for this purpose, and according to the project presented, different training and complementary activities have been developed: -Informative seminar for applicants, previous to the mobility, with the collaboration of Provincial Counsellor EURES, that will inform both about the project and the professional mobility opportunities in Europe;-Previous intensive training both on-site and online for the beneficiaries, financed by the Provincial Council’s own funds: linguistics (English); intercultural; and information about Erasmus+ and practical issues about each destination;-Concluding round after the mobility, about job orientation and entrepreneurship, with technical staff from the Área de Emeplo de Diputación y Provincial Counsellor EURES, in which students have received provincial resources in order to make an active search of employment, together with information about the support lines of the Provincial Council of Jaén, both for the entrepreneurial and companies for the recruitment of qualified staff (see in Área de Empleo, Diputación de Jaén https://www.dipujaen.es/conoce-diputacion/areas-organismos-empresas/areaJ ). In its idea of continuity, the Provincial Council has opted for this program by making available a series of human resources to the project (previous hiring of a technician), own materials and economic, that have complemented the funding received from ERASMUS+. This continuity has been achieved with a second ERASMUS+ project, approved in the 2017 call: “JAÉN+II: FP con Plus en Europa"" (2017 – 1 – KA102 - 036871), in which it can be appreciated both the high level of satisfaction achieved by the participants and the results of the dissemination in the incorporation of 28 centres to the new consortium.More information about “JAÉN+” in: https://www.dipujaen.es/conoce-diputacion/areas-organismos-empresas/areaJ/proyectos-europeos/jaen-plus/ , with links to news, partners websites, call for papers, files and videos about the project and participant’s experiences."

"The project, named ""TUBALCAÍN VET IN EUROPE"", has as its main goal the improvement of the personal and professional education of the Vocational Education students of the IES Tubalcaín. The duration of the internship was:- 32 days in Italy- 31 days in PolandDue to the difficulty of being able to travel on the scheduled dates given the availability of flights, the duration of mobility for students from Poland has been 31 days.During the mobilities the students made 160 hours of internship in the companies. Most of the students went with all the approved modules and the internships have been part of the 410 total hours of the professional module of Training in Workplaces (FCT) which is required in each VET studies. After checking the training needs and considering the objectives of the project, several companies from 2 different countries were chosen that operate in the fields of our three educational branches: Transport and Vehicle Maintenance, Installation and Maintenance, and Administration and Management. The countries chosen for this project were Italy and Poland. These destinations have been chosen on the basis of students' preferences, their language level and the quality of the companies in which they were able to carry out the internships, with the aim of offering a variety of experiences, European techniques and methodologies to improve their vocational and personal training.Although it was planned to carry out mobilities in companies in Slovenia and France, in the end no internships were carried out in these countries. The mobilities that took place in the 2018/2019 academic year were:- Italy: 15 students in the first year, in 2019.- Poland: 3 students in the first year, in 2019Taking into account that 3 students were minors and that, in general, they do not have previous experience of travelling abroad, 3 teachers travelled with them and accompanied them during the first week.In the 2019/2020 academic year it was planned to carry out 14 mobilities of this project, and despite having carried out all the necessary formalities and training to carry out the mobility, Finally, the students were not able to do the internships due to the international situation generated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The objectives of the project have been:- To provide better opportunities for pupils/students: Students have been given the same opportunities as other young people/students in Spain. The IES Tubalcaín is located in a rural area away from large population centres and therefore in an area that offers fewer opportunities for students/ as they have fewer services. We have offered our students the most complete training and new opportunities.- To improve the intercultural skills of students: our students have had the opportunity to leave home and to get in touch with people from different countries and cultures, with different customs and have found it necessary to practice, speak and understand a language other than one’s own. Thanks to an international experience, students have improved their intercultural skills, developed values of respect, tolerance and will help to contribute to a more inclusive society.- To promote study and employability, and reducing school drop-out: in the area where the Centre is located, such initiatives are a very positive complement to the training of pupils/s. International internships mean an improvement in the training offered by the Centre, helping in the training of students, facilitating their subsequent integration into the labour market and improving their employability, as well as encouraging entrepreneurship. All this encourages the students to continue with their studies, decreasing the dropout rate.- To Improve the personal and professional skills of students/s: this international experience has exposed students/s to new situations and has helped them to mature and develop on a personal level, and to acquire key personal and professional skills. In addition, pupils/students have improved their language skills. The benefits of the project has had a positive impact on all participants:- The students/participants have benefited in terms of improving their personal, professional and linguistic training. This has improved their opportunities to enter the world of work, or for continuity with higher education or entrepreneurship: a high percentage of participants are working in companies in the area and the rest are studying a higher degree.- The Education Centre offers more complete training and is open to the outside world. The area benefits from the best qualifications of its workers and helps to improve the perception of vocational training."
