The goal was to improve the skills and competencies of the participants. To help students to become skilled labourers, to give teachers the opportunities to learn from methods used abroad and to improve the curriculum. At the beginning of this call we won the European award for being the most innovative college, this gave extra energy and media attention and a boost to the implementation of international activities. The project has gone well we succeeded in doing what we planned. We spend our budget almost completely in the first year of the period. There has been a change in the type of mobilities we offer, to support disadvantaged students and to increase the numbers of student that dare to go abroad, we have organized a number of projects of two weeks. This has a positive effect, more students went abroad, also from groups that normally never used to go.Staff mobilities are increasing, here we see that the interest to learn abroad is growing, more teachers see the need of keeping their knowledge updated and the possibilities to gain new knowledge abroad. We are involved in nine innovative KA2 projects, the majority for teachers, three of the projects involve also students. Da Vinci is coordinating one project. Because of the growing numbers and the investment in KA2 projects, we feel a positive attitude in college. We host a lot of guests from Europe and abroad, it is a normal situation to have foreigners in the college, students collaborate internationally, teachers meet and discuss possible projects for students. We try to benefit as much as possible from the presence of foreigners to give all students the chances to communicate in English and have internationalisation@home activities. In this mobility project students, staff and working life representatives went abroad. The partners are in most situations well known, sometimes a student finds a company that is accepted or staff participate in visits to new partners. The emphasis on quality is becoming stronger, we started using the Learning Agreement which makes the objectives of the training students do abroad more clear. We have set rules for tutoring the students via Skype or Whatsapp and if possible we visited students. Also for staff, it is clear how the procedure is working, they need to come up with clear goals and have a plan on how to implement the results in their daily working life. Going abroad in combination with working life representatives is a great extra bonus, it helps to create a common understanding and makes it clear that educating young students is a matter of co-creation.We have contracted since the beginning of call 2017 an English Teaching Assistant via the Fulbright program. This TA is working in the Language center, assisting in classes, tutoring students that need extra help, training students that go abroad and organizing activities for excellent students. The college has accpeted new strategy, internationalization is one of the pillars. This will be implemented in the years to come, but because of the success of the recent years, it is natural that we consider mobility, @home activities and participating in innovative projects as a basis for modern and challenging education. All in all call 2017 has been a continuation of our growing activities with new pathways to improve, broaden and deepen the offer for both students and staff.

This means that out of 46 third grade students - 21 participate in the Erasmus+ project supported by the European Union, which is almost 50 percent. The 20 female and one male students are between 16 and 18 years old. They are all eligible to take part in the Erasmus+ programme because they have to do a 12-week-placement between the third and the fourth year of our school to be allowed to sit the final exams two years later. That´s why for them the school year already ends at the end of May and starts again on the first Monday in October. They have to do their compulsory training within these four months. At our school there are two different focuses: 1. language and media 2. wellness and health management. Most of the students have very good English skills as well as good Italian/French skills. Some of them have even attended optional subjects like russian, wine-connoisseur, bar-keeper, patisserie, etc. During their placements abroad students want to practise, strengthen as well as enlarge their practical as well as theoretical knowledge which they have acquired in the first three years at our school. Furthermore, within this project students will get the chance to get to know a country which they might not know at all or only from a short holiday. Another important aim is to improve their language skills – make use of what you already know, internalize it and expand your vocabulary, phrases, etc. Which skills are to be focused on, will be put down in the Learning Agreements in accordance with teacher, employers and students. During the training (accompanying persons, reports from students and mentors), that is, afterwards - the achievement of these goals will be checked. Additional ECVET aspects included in the project are: Personal Transcript and Memorandum of Understanding which are to be signed in the course of visits in the respective countries.Taking part in this project is therefore useful for the students in many respects. By working in a foreign countries they can consolidate their practical as well as their language skills, brush them up and enlarge them and that way increase their chance on the job market significantly. A further important aspect is that with the help of the Erasmus Plus project the students are to crack prejudices, become more open-minded and tolerant. And last but not least, participants are to become more mobile, even at an early age. The results of the project will be published by means of articles in local and regional newspapers, a radio interview is planned as well. Moreover, experienced project participants will pass their knowledge on to students who are thinking of going abroad in the following year at informative events at school but also outside of it.Staff mobility is another aspect that will be focused on this year. Four teachers are going to take part at the Summer Academy at Lanarkshire College in Scotland. Scottish-themed-cooking is the title of the seminar two English as well as two cooking teachers will participate in. The ultimate aim is to overcome language barriers and to finally design and hold classes together. In the long run bilingual education in the nutrion department of HLW should become part of the curriculum and give us an additional cutting edge in the future competition for students.

Every student is not just an "" MBO catering participant "" but an ""MBO catering participant and committed citizen in the present and future society"".To achieve the objectives , the duration of the mobility is customized to their personal abilities and the level of study. The deliberate choice of partners will certainly make a positive contribution to the quality of the project. We have a large number of partners with whom we work. Depending on the level and abilities of each participant, we find the most appropriate country and type of accredited training company for each. Therefore the number of partners exceeds the number of participants that we send each year .Moreover, participants can enroll at any time during the year in any training programme at Europrof, therefore, a broad -based partner contact is of great importance.- The content of the project is aimed basically at 13 students MBO BOL (Level 1 / m Level 4 ) at the initial vocational training in the context of Hotel and Catering , Hospitality, Pastry and Culinary arts. Participants will do a part of their training program, training (BPV) in a European accredited hosting partner. The intention is that participants go for an internship duration of between 7 and 15 weeks . They will gain their practical experience in accordance with the practical skills required in these accredited training companies. Two applications which will have a big impact:1 -The fact that Europrof gives participants the opportunity to do an international internship , during their first year of study , in a ""real-life "" situation, ensures the development of their enthusiasm and interest and passion for their future work and employment ( if at 16 or 17 years of age they have this opportunity and experience, one can surmise the tremendous help and encouragement it will mean for them!!) Our experience is that their passion and enthusiasm increases as if they were already 19 and 20 years of age.!!!.... The future will change for them . Their ambition will grow and their performance will be enhanced. 2 - The fact that we give the students immediately in first year, the opportunity to follow internships in 4 star* and 5 star * companies. We teach them right from the start to set the bar very high and then ... naturally passion and motivation will grow rapidly! The nice thing is that if they are looking for their internship of the 2nd year, they are not satisfied with “lower” places .... This is the beginning of a passionate future! they learn from the beginning at the highest level ! This improves entry and employability in the labour market .Internationalization applied in this way you can presume it represents a real modernization of VET ! !Improving language skills also plays an important role (e.g. English, Spanish and German ). It creates interest and appreciation for the culture and customs of the host country. This helps them to adapt during their stay.STAFF :A total of 5 participants (practical trainers , teachers , etc. ) .a) internships in approved / accredited training companies in the EU countries .b) in collaboration with a number of Hotel and Catering Companies in the EU countries designing and developing educational modules that will be given in the new Europrof Qualification programme .=============With this “2 in 1”- project implementation , we are confident that we will achieve our five broad objectives , namely :- Achieving modernization of vocational education by internationalization- Accelerating the development of personal, general, and branch-specific competencies- Improving the quality of learning and teaching- Improving employment and sustainable employability- Increasing the value and attractiveness of vocational education through closer cooperation with the industryTogether with a number of partners, with Erasmus + projects, we are trying to promote reciprocity. Mutual reciprocity we experience as a great enrichment.Cooperating countries in the proj: AT, BE, ES, NL, UK , SE and MT (new)"

Moreover, the “Passion & Service project in the hospitality industry-2” aims at a biger impact: promoting the motivation to learn and the passion for your future profession!!! This also increases the ambition and the performance enormously! How do we do this? - International (EU) long traineeships from the first year (most of them are 16 or 17 years) they involve a major development both in personal and in their vocational learning process. ""You know what you learn: because you immediately fit everything you learn in practice from theory"". - A 3 years program ( with a 5 to 6 months internships each year) in small groups and with a 'personal coach', also during the internship. - Internships at a high level (learning in the place and at the level where their capacities lie). This formula is unique in the Netherlands! - The use of E-learning plays an important role in making the theory more attractive and immediately applicable. - A better preparation for language and culture with the aim of cultivating interest and appreciation for the culture and customs of the host country. This helps them to adapt themselves during their stay. Both during the training and during the internship students are made aware of different cultures, also in the context of social inclusion (through master classes of intercultural sensitivity and interaction with other cultures). Furthermore, the optional subject International part I and part II components are also offered during their EU internship as an exam (see also the attached example). - Greater opportunities for a job immediately after the study (they obtained real experience as a professional worker). Better understanding and cooperation between education and the labor market with the aim of achieving a more optimal connection. This makes vocational training much more attractive, the opportunities on the labor market much greater and especially the sustainable employability in the labor market, the personal qualities better developed, the languages more important. We continue to work on better and sustainable cooperation, especially with (new) foreign partners. We are working on looking for new partners who are open to this formula! We have a large number of partners with whom we work together. Depending on the level and qualities of each student, we look for the most suitable country and type of apprenticeship for each student. As a result, the number of partner countries is sometimes larger than the number of participants we send per year. With this project we want to make the participants aware of the personal responsibility and the positive contribution that they can make in this current society. We are convinced that citizenship competences are of great importance in vocational education. Every student is not only a ""catering student"" but a ""catering student full-fledged citizen in the current and future society"". In order to achieve the desired objectives, the duration of the mobility is adapted to the personal possibilities and to the study-level. The conscious choice of the partner countries will certainly make a positive contribution to the quality of the project. The content of the project is intented for in principle for 10 students who will do a 5 to 6 months internship in the context of Horeca- Hospitality and Patisserie. The participants will follow a large part of their training path in a European receiving partner country. They gain their practical experience according to the specific competences in accredited training companies and they also do exam / validation (one example attached). STAFF: Professionalization of 4 participants (practice trainers, teachers, administrators, volunteers, etc.) so that they can develop both professionally and personally and thus bring added value to the educational institution and to the students. We are in the process of inviting companies from the EU to come and give masterclass / guest lectures within the context of the branch and industry. Participants take innovative training / courses in apprenticeships and institutions in the EU countries both for their expertise promotion and for improving the quality content of the programs. In collaboration with a number of hospitality companies in the EU countries, we will revise the study-curriculum in order to create more fluent transfer possibilities. Improvement of languages by following language courses in order to create a better understanding during teaching and guiding. With a number of partners, with or without Erasmus + projects, we continue to promote reciprocity. On the other hand, both parties, we experience reciprocity as a great enrichment!"
