Be part of the solution was a seven day conflict resolution training that was organized in Germany in December 2015 and hosted 45 youth workers from 12 different countries from the world that have conflicts with each other. The participants were from Turkey, Cyprus, Macedonia, Greece, Kosovo, Serbia, Croatia, Ukraine, Russia, Germany, Palestine and Israel which are all countries that are in the middle of war, post war reconciliation, political problems and many other challenges. The partner organizations and their participants showed that they want to address these problems and want to learn how. There were many feelings of anger, sadness and hopelessness, but also feelings of hope, joy and direction while the participants learned how to address conflicts. They shared their experiences, and made strong commitments that they will continue working on the reconciliation and peace building. This project showed that it is possible youth workers from different conflict countries to sit on the same table and discuss their issues openly, but also focus on solutions, to be a bright example for their communities. Upon their return in their home countries, they continued the youth work around conflict resolution and implement the gained knowledge in workshops for the local community with small and practical steps doing local projects between the two countries that will be small but should bring the two countries closer together.

With particular focus on Creative industry tool of: Theatre; Art; Digital; Literacy; Photography; & Social Media to promote their thoughts to decision-makers.Furthermore, the inter-cultural element, utilising the WWI as the key subject to encourage participants from different countries, some with a history of aggression to promote conflict resolution amongst young people.EGAR Youth ExchangeThrough a multi-lateral Youth Exchange, focusing on 5 countries which were the destinations of 5 significant aspects of WWI: Gallipoli; the Arab Revolt; Europe and Eastern Battlefields, young people learnt about the World War I, which was particularly poignant as its’ centenary of the Great War between 2014 to 2018. Young People developed new skills, designed to improve their opportunities to move into employment/self-employment, as well as mobilising digital and art-based skills to promote an outlet of self-expression. EGAR also connected young people from different backgrounds, to learn about their different cultures and shared history through World War I and most importantly how the Great War influenced and affected their own countries from 1918 to present day. Young people were from diverse backgrounds and included: Israelis; Arabs; Serbs; Bosnians; Macedonians; Turks; Kurds; British young people (including BAME groups). Furthermore, the groups included young people from a range of faiths and beliefs: Judaism; Christianity (Anglicanism, Catholicism, Orthodox etc.); Islam; Atheism; and many others. The EGAR programme used a 5 stage model throughout the Youth Exchange programme to deliver its key objectives:• Work Development training• You:ME• Creative Skills• E-Film production• Film LaunchWork Development training: participants developed a range of Life & Work skills, to assist them into long term employment including: Communication; Inter-personal; Respect; Understanding; Employability; Team skills. They learned and practiced different languages, through games, theatre role plays and photography-based scavenger hunts. Participants were assigned to mixed nationality teams and learned about the differences in UK, Israel, Serbia, Macedonia, Turkey pre & during WWI & the changes in society post World War I. Participants considered identity; ideologies; democracy & different types of citizenship. This was supported by the Imperial War Museum in the UK, who ran a bespoke workshop for the London-based youth exchange.Creative Skills & E-Film (stage 2 & 3): Participants took part in a range of Art-themed informal learning activities, investigating the World War I. So following a Film-making workshop on day one, participants gathered materials (photos, film, ideas etc.) throughout the week. Film Launch: participants launched in March 2016 following the UK youth exhcange, marketing it through online channels & social media, and learned at each step required for a successful launch. The film was also distributed by partner organisations.EGAR also incorporated a Youth worker mobility element, where youth workers from the UK, were able visit partners in Israel, Serbia, Turkey and Macedonia, participate in job shadowing and training, while they learned about different cultural approaches to youth work with particular focus on citizenship, inter-cultural dialogue, conflict resolution, self-representation and language learning. Whereas, teams in host countries were able to learn about youth work methodologies in the UK, youth mentoring, Information, Advice and Guidance and best practices when with young people from diverse backgrounds, such as present in multi-cultural London.

"""Lets raise the bar"" was training and networking for youth workers project that was held in Bad Sachsa, Germany from 9th to 16th of November 2014. On this project there were 42 group leaders, presidents, trainers and project managers from 19 different countries from partner and neighboring countries. We created this project together with our partners on the last training course where we saw the need to raise the bar or increase the quality of the projects that the NGOs are making and to increase the impact on the societies that we are living in. The achieved goal was to share the know-how, good and bad experiences between all these people and to use them like a human library in order to develop guidelines on how to make better and more relevant projects that will make difference. This will ""raise the bar"" for all other organizations also and it will create a increasing curve. The organizations had the chance to make meaningful and long term partnerships with countries that are member of the European Union and countries that are partners of the European Union that will create a snowball effect in the future. As a result of the project we developed new tools that make the work of youth workers much easier, projects have a better quality, more opportunities were created for the young people around Europe and in the partner countries."
