The project Youth workers united through intercultural dialogue was an initiative implemented by a partnership between two member organizations of Black Sea NGO Forum - Asociatia EIVA from Romania and National Council of Youth from Republic of Moldova. The project was proposed in order to strength the collaboration between organizations from Romania and Moldova and the main focus of the mobility activity was to develop the intercultural competences of youth workers in Moldova and Romania. We have also encouraged the transfer of knowledge and experience between organizations from Romania and Moldova. Another important focus of the project was to foster a clear understanding regarding the civil society organization in the two countries, with a special regard on intercultural education and all the issues related to intercultural encounters. The main activity of the project consisted in a youth workers mobility tailored on concrete realities in Europe and Moldova aiming to strengthen / develop intercultural competences useful for both personal and professional integration. The activity was implemented in Chisinau area (Vadul lui Voda), Moldova between 04.08.2016 – 11.08.2016 with the participation of 20 youth workers from Romania and Moldova – 2 trainers and 18 participants. Throughout the project we were targeting the following objectives:1.Increasing the level of competences for 20 youth workers from Moldova and Romania in regards with the intercultural education.2.Exploring the opportunities for cooperation in the field of intercultural education between youth NGO’s from Romania and Moldova.3.Creating a network of resource people/contributors in development of intercultural education based upon a non-formal educational approach. The methodology used in the training activities emphasized the learning in both non-formal and informal educational contexts. We have also explored the inner connections and the cultural diversity in the two represented countries, Romania and Moldova, based upon cultural and historical connections, as well as the actual intercultural, geopolitical, and educational realities: cultural influences, minorities, educational system. The main results of the project consisted in the competences (knowledge, skills and attitudes) developed by the participants in the mobility. The new competences developed allow them to better deal in real contexts in their daily work in the youth work they’re doing: intercultural work, educational activities focused on intercultural issues (cultural diversity, minorities, intercultural encounters, stereotypes, prejudices, dealing with immigration issues). The participants are now more able to facilitate learning sessions with youths approaching elements of intercultural education.Another important result developed by the project is related to the networking activities facilitated throughout activities: there are now concrete plans for initiatives in the framework of Erasmus + in cooperation between youth civil society actors in Romania and Moldova. This generated an important effect of the project: the strong commitment of the promoters to continue the collaboration and to facilitate contexts in order to promote intercultural education, human rights, and European democratic values.
