At the APV in Cardiff, Wales in April 2019 the leaders and participants who attended decide on which countries would deliver which workshops. The exchange then was held in May 2019 with each country providing 1 leader and 4 young people aged 18 to 30 years. The young people in each country had been chosen through a selection process open to all but with a focus on young people with fewer opportunities and each country chose the topics that they would like to work on and deliver on the exchange, doing this with each other through discussions and video conferencing on social media. They devised an innovative programme of activities to cover mental health, yoga and meditation, fitness and exercise including sport and dance, healthy eating, nature walk and rambling and use of technology and gamification for exercise, they were taught general coaching skills and excerise with a range od gym equipment is a beautiful outdoor fitness park in Barry Island. Each country has a range of problems and brought different skills and experiences to teach each other how to combat these problems in their countries. We devised a unique and innovative way of dissemination and confirming achievements, outcomes and results and also will award all participants from each country who complete achievements a nationally recognised accreditaion in Sports and Fitness from the UK. This has had an enormous impact on the participants and on the partners who now have a motivated and skilled (qualified) group of young people to help develop their provision back in their countries and also the potential of a dramatic impact of new ideas for health and fitness on the young people in the communities that the partners operate in and as wide across Europe or even the world that our dissemination and impact can take us. The range of activities, workshops and non formal learning skills were a fantastic credit to the young people involved.

The project covers three main activities: preparation, advanced planning visit, youth exchange in UK and evaluation and dissemination. Basic elements of the preparation activities will be the preparation of already selected participants, arrangements for hosting and learning and dealing with logistics matters. Exchange activities will directly provide the achievement of the project objectives. First of all, exchange days will become a special space created due to non-formal educational methods and wide NGOs' experience of social work for communication between youth from all partner countries. By interacting freely and opening their minds through specific games and tasks, young people will together find out elements of youth migrants' involvement (multiculturalism, tolerance, partnership, social volunteering and dialogue), discuss the importance of being involved in local community in friendly and supportive atmosphere and outline issues of youth migrants’ involvement. This part of the project will provide participants with critical thinking tools for filtering information about migrants, make a shift in their minds for eliminating biases and personal barriers to migrants. Participants will expound their insights, using the method of art therapy and will have an opportunity to feel the freedom of expression in the painting process. CHSI project objectives are; to bring together young people from 7 EU countries in Cardiff, UK building up space for the open, friendly and active communication on the problems of social adaptation of young migrants in the youth environment; To provide space and platform for conduction of constructive discussion and self-presentation in multicultural community; To investigate elements of migrant youth involvement (multiculturalism, tolerance, partnership and dialog) from partner's perspectives. Establishing new international contacts between young people for developing and realization of other joint projects in future; To develop critical thinking, ability to correctly filter social information, to generate ideas and work in a team; To assist in overcoming inner prejudices and stereotypes related to migrants and finding the ways of their adaptation in the youth environment; To expanding the participants’ ideas about the life of young migrants and expressing it via art and graffiti; Finally to enhance the level of young people’s knowledge British, Polish, Italian, Romanian, Lithuanian, Turkish and Slovakian cultures. Project results and project relevant information will be disseminated through various information sources. After project discussions and exchange activities, participants will better understand situation with migrants in other partner countries and find new ways of changing social attitude to migrants in their countries. Project is expected to activate NGO members inspiring them for future initiatives.

So for that reason, we need better coherence in the process of how the organisations “work” and how the volunteers “work”. The Global Digital Report 2018 is showing that the number of internet users worldwide in 2018 is 4.021 billion, up 7 percent year-on-year and the number of social media users worldwide in 2018 is 3.196 billion, up 13 percent year-on-year. Thus, together we implemented this project that has the aim of increasing the capacity building of the partner organisations in the field of Volunteer Engagement with focus on aligning the youth worker’s communication competences to the new online trends used by young volunteers. In order to reach that aim we reached 3 specific objectives: 1.Developing creative and innovative online communication competences specific to volunteer engagement work, among 30 youth workers from 9 countries, in 10 months. 2.Enhance the effective use of innovative social media and creative art methods such as graphic facilitation and creative writing as tools for online communication with young volunteers, in at least 1 learning activity for each partner organisation, in 2 months. 3.Support the exchange of experience and good practices in the field of volunteer engagement, among the 30 youth workers from the 10 partner organisations, in 10 months. The following activities were done in order to reach these objectives: Step 1. Activity 1 - Training for youth workers on volunteer engagement with a focus on aligning the youth workers’ communication competences to the new online trends used by youth: this activity (6 days mobility in Turkey, April 2019) The training provided the youth workers with the opportunity to explore and exercise in a collaborative environment creative online and offline tools that could be used in working with youth, in attracting and ensuring volunteer engagement on the long term. Step 2. Piloting of methods back home in the period of 4 months after the mobility (at least one of the methods acquired during the training in one of their learning activities / org.) in at least 1 learning activity for each partner organisation, in 2 months. Step 3. Online seminar (1 day) for sharing good practice and lessons learned during the pilot activities, further develop the ability to engage with constantly using selected methods and tools, learn more about Erasmus+ Program and project development. Step 4. Dissemination plan implemented by each partner organisation using online tools. Each partner organisation created a video with key words and images (drawings, pictures) about the main leaning points of the project and disseminated it using multiple online tools. The training program was based on the experiential learning approach which was reflected on voluntary and assumed active participation of participants in the learning process, methods and instruments that covered participants’ needs in different moments of the training, adaptation and usage of methods that complied with all learning styles, facilitation of participants’ initiative and contribution. The 30 participants to the training on volunteer engagement focused on aligning the youth workers’ communication competences to the new online trends used by youth, increased their: - ability to choose, adapt and use creative online and offline tools and methods that are in tone with youth interests into visual and online; - ability to attract and involve youth volunteers, to empower them and raise their responsibility towards the design, implementation and evaluation of activities; - capacity to design and implement effective communication campaigns to attract youth volunteers; - ability to use an innovative online tool and increase their IT knowledge and skills; - openness to communicating in a creative manner, using both visual and writing skills to create innovative experiences for youth volunteers; - sharing of experience through systematic documentation and documentation; - understanding and ability to use the opportunities of the Erasmus Plus Programme in developing projects aimed at capacity building for youth and other youth workers; - capacity for self-evaluation and usage of European evaluation instruments such as the Youthpass and creative methods to disseminate learning impact to stakeholders; - intercultural communication competences such as dialogue, tolerance, diversity management; Youth workers and partner organisations are now more aware and able to integrate in a systematic way creative methods and online communication tools, dissemination plans, thus having a clear, genuine, increasingly qualitative image on reached impact which makes them more accountable to their beneficiaries and donors and increases their chances to secure funding.

Both APV and the exchange took place in the village Vevang, Eide municipality in Møre and Romsdal, Norway. The APV took place over two days and was a preparatory meeting for the exchange. The exchange last for eight days, Ten youths from Norway and ten from Spain participated, while Wales lined up with seven youths. The youths were all in between the age of 13-17 years old. There was one male and two female leaders from Spain, and one male and one female leader from Wales. From Norway we participated with one male and one female leader, as well as one youth leader/aspirant.The goal with the project was to increase understanding and consciousness around - how we communicate and how we can communcate to open up for constructive dialogue and not to create conflict.-How the way we communicate in can help to lift others and give others a better self-understanding and confidence in themselves and their intrinsic.-How communication affects health and wellness/self-esteem.-The value of knowing other cultures.-To create contacts and friendships across the borders in Europe.-Own culture.-To be a European. Also, we of course wish to dare to speak more English and experience that we are getting better in languages. We wish to grow in our selves, feel safer, dare to talk in meetings, support each other and to be great role models. The objectives have been achieved, for better or worse. We have worked with theatre as a method and learned about non-violent communication. We have learned from a theater instructor, and from each other. The participants have been active through concrete participation, observation, listening, dialouge and reflection. Through common experience we have built a greater understading for who we are, for what and how we communcate and what this does to ourselves and to others. After the exchange the participants dedicated themselves a greater understanding about what it means to be a youth in another part of Europe. We have through the exchange linked friendship ties, learned to knwo each other, become more aware of what is equal, and maybe even surprised that we are more alike than different. Through gaining knowledge about non-violent communcation, we have gained increased understanding, built pride and broken down insecurity/xenophobia. Bringing young people from Wales, Spain and Norway together have given us the opportunity to get first-hand knowledge and knowledge of each other. This have created greater understanding for culture and promoted the democratic thought acroess the borders of Europe. Through the exchage, with common arenas and experiences, the youths have grown bigger understanding for what it means to grow up in Europe, what it means to be a European citizen. We have also received a lot of questions which we have not been able to address in this project. The project objective have been relevant also for the local society. Representatives from the local society have have, in different ways, participated in activities. That they have been exposed for our projects has contributed to the goal also being relevant for them. We believe that the project have been involved in linking lifelong bonds between many of the participants. A goal has been to create a spark that makes more people want to participate in this kind of project; other youths that belong to our project, other communities which sees the opportunity this kind of project can give.Several of the participants still holds contact with each other on whatsapp, Facebook and some have visited each other. Some of the Norwegian youths have asked about further projects. The next step for some of them is attending courses organized by Youth in Action, so that they can take an even more active role than they have done in this project.
