Young people face several challenges to be in a situation which is based on cultural background and they don’t know how to react or don’t understand why they react how they react. Ambiguity is everywhere, among young people and between young persons and youth leaders. It is essential nowadays to develop and improve our intercultural competence with emphasis on intercultural sensitiveness because we don’t have to travel to an other country to face with different cultures, different cultures come to us, different cultures are around us. That is a really positive change nevertheless we have to learn to handle our fears and learn to understand, tolerate and accept each other and to learn to live together. Youth have to be prepared for that and provide support for other young people they live/study/work with to become interculturally sensitive for each other and go through the phases of intercultural sensitiveness and understand their and others’ reactions. The activities will be learner-centred because first all young people having different cultural backgrounds have to be aware that how sensitive they are interculturally and how much they need to improve their intercultural competence. So the teams will be guided in advance in the preparatory phase to organize togehter with the country project coordinators and leaders participatory and creative methods of non – formal education through the phases of the model of Milton J. Benett. During the project activities, youth will go through all phases and make self – assessment regarding to their own intercultural competence with special focus on intercultural sensitiveness. Meanwhile they have to consider how they can support their organizations' target groups to go through these phases in their lives as well and share opinions and life stories to each other about their intercultural experiences. Therefore, the activities will be theoretical and practical. We will select participants aged between 18 and 25 years old who are interested in this kind of activities and topics. Some of the Romanian participants have already participated in Youth Exchanges before, but we will also select youngsters who have not been in this sort of actions; with their participation, the information about youth unemployment, but also about the Erasmus + Programme will be spread around. We also take into consideration the involvement of young people with fewer opportunities, who can learn more about their chances on the labor market, given the theme of the project. The Romanians who want to take part in the activities of the project will be asked to send a CV and a motivation letter, so that we can choose the most appropriate and motivated persons. The project activities will be based on non-formal education, a learning and training process, operating outside the routines of the formal educational system. They will be based on the learning by participation methodology, taking into account the participants’ needs and interests. During the 14 days of activities here in Craiova, we propose for the 49 young people a series of activities that are compatible with the needs and interests of the participants. Generally, the activities will consist of group discussions, group work, visual presentations, brainstorming, case studies, role plays etc.For the results of the project we shall disseminate it in local and regional mass media: press releases to the local and regional newspapers, radio and TV shows, invitations to media to various events, etc, and we will ask our partners to do the same. We expect that during the project the participants will gain useful information that will help them to create strong links among the partners organizations in future regional cooperation and to develop their analytical and practical skills in order to implement the project idea in their local communities.

It is also the name of the youth exchange of 8 days dealing with raising youth awareness to the diversity of cultures living in the same space or close to each other. Culture is a complex concept dealing with everyday living and with confronting the same reality from different perspectives. There are numerous approaches towards intercultural thinking, but we consider extraordinary the 8 phase model of Milton Bennet which travels the participants from ambiguity to experience and goes around essential notions such as culture and time, sports and religion, types and stereotypes, gender and sexuality, social status, intercultural communication and dialogue. We have put focus in our activities in developing a sense of understanding and tolerance and we have gone over the stereotypes surrounding each country. CRV has hosted 6 groups from program and partner countries in the second half of September 2018, in the period 13-22.09, in the southern part of Romania, in Craiova, an area surrounded by mountains and cultural heritage, in the secluded space of a youth hostel. Participants, together with their leaders have been the actors who have prepared and then conducted the non-formal workshops and the community event in order to be able to grow, strengthen their sense of initiative, cooperation and intercultural understanding and to gain soft skills like public speaking, time and resources management, flexibility, team work, conflict solving. The public event during the exchange ans well as the dissemination caravan had the strongest impact on the youth involved. When met with the context of explaining their learning so that other could benefit as well, their awareness grew, their sense of responsibility as well. During the project, youth produced a facebook page, a blog and an online brochure and have participated in different follow-up activities.
