"Name of the project: Internationalization of Escola del Treball - III Start of the project: 01/10 /2018 Duration of the project: 24 months Mobility: 1 teacher, 19 students + 1 accompanying person Partner countries of the project: Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Poland, Slovenia, Spain and United Kingdom. IET-III is the third edition of the Erasmus+ project of Escola del Treball de Barcelona (EdT), framed in the Center's Internationalization Strategy, aim to strengthen our structure, the human resources and the procedures of the international mobility program that endow the EdT of an international dimension from which the whole educational community (students and teachers) could benefit. With this project we have intended that our school, one of the most important in vocational training in the whole country, improves the quality of their educational programs, introducing activities that benefit in their educational work, making it more attractive, innovative and in context with the European labor market. As a reference center in vocational eduation and training (for its variety of specialties, its size and its potential), we have bet on keeping participating in the projects developed in the European common area of education, recognizing the merits acquired by students in training schools through the participation in internships in foreign companies. We believe that this project is clearly committed to strengthe the employability of our students. The project, managed by an international coordination team of Escola del Treball, has had the support of different national and international partners that have helped in the realization of short internship mobilities for students and mobilities for teachers (job shadowing). The pandemic situation has led us to reduce the number of mobilities we considered in the initial project. Finally, 19 student mobilities have been carried out - one of which had to be terminated earlier than planned due to force majeure - and regarding of the four planned teachers mobilities, only one has been able to materialize; likewise, regardingof the two planned accompaniments, only one could be performed. Despite these changes, we consider it has been a success to have been able to carry out the whole project despite the pandemic situation. Regarding the teaching staff of Escola del Treball, IET-III has achieved: -To give them the opportunity to gain experience with new methodologies of foreign companies. -To establish new cooperation strategies with international organizations, companies and training centers. -To encourage the exchange of good practices in educational management and pedagogical methodologies with organizations in the local (Mundus) and international environment. -To educate the teaching staff about the importance of intercultural dialogue, and the learning of foreign languages, to develop an awareness of European identity. -To prepare in a coordinated way actions with the participation of young learners. -To create synergies between students and teachers from different departments. - To bring ""Europe"" to the educational community. Regarding the students, the project has allowed them: -To live the European business context, in order to acquire professional experience putting into practice the knowledge acquired during their professional training. -To develop transversal competences (8 key competences identified by the European Commission) that allow them to acquire basic skills at a personal level. -To encourage critical thinking, breaking stereotypes through activities that foster intercultural dialogue in the educational community. -To help them improve their job opportunitties at the end of their studies. -To reinforce their self-esteem and confidence, empowering them through experiences in international environments outside of their comfort zone. -To develop themselves as European citizens, opening up their minds to other cultures, languages and traditions of the common space. -To bring Erasmus + European mobility programs as well as non-formal and informal education to the students. In total, 19 students from the different professional families of Escola del Treball de Barcelona (+1 companion) and 1 teacher have participated in the project with mobilities that have been executed between 2019 and 2021 in 8 countries (Finland, Germany, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Poland, Slovenia and United Kingdom ). Regarding of students, they have carried out VET-SHORT mobilities, doing 1-month internships in companies. Regarding of the teacher, he has carried a job shadowing mobility for 5 days, in order to improve their preparation by visiting educational centers foreign companies and institutions."

"The INS Lacetánia faces different needs of its students (and the center itself): lack of transversal skills, need to improve knowledge of foreign languages, need to expand the work experience of students. To meet these needs, the center has developed an internationalization plan 2 years ago. The first step in 2017 was an international mobility project for internships for students and training for teachers. In 2018, we have created ""Move Manresa to Europe"" submitted with the aim of continuing to improve and strengthen the professional profile of students, motivate students with new challenges, and offer more innovative teaching methods thanks to the mobility of teachers. 1) Number and profile of the participants - Students: 24 students mobility in two years, Germany, Poland, Itàly and France. Profile: students committed to Erasmus +, who demonstrate a desire to improve their knowledge of a foreign language, and with good grades and behavior in class. - Teachers: 2 mobilities of teacher training to the destinations of Germany and Italy. On the other hand, we establish 2 mobilities of accompaniment to France and Poland. The profile of these participants: good curriculum with international experience, motivation, commitment to students and the project. 2) Specific activities and objectives - 24 student mobility for internships in companies with the aim of: Develop their skills, both professional and transversal, including their self-esteem, their autonomy and their maturity. Improve their linguistic skills, and above all, their command of English and their communication skills Expand your work experience and help them to better define their professional career Two mobility flows will have a companion, with the aim of: adding security and support to the mobility of the student and personally know the host partners and the conditions of accommodation and practices. - 2 Teacher Mobilities for a study visit with the aim of: Improve your level of foreign languages Import more innovative methodologies and teaching techniques Establish network of contacts 3) Partners in the project The INS partners are the following: - Mundus Association, as a sending partner organization, will manage mobility, training and documentation. - Intermediary partners from France, Italy and Poland, plus a homologous center in Germany: they will manage the reception, the deal with the company of internships, accommodation and help with student follow-up, reports and documentation. 4) Results, impact and long-term benefits. We foresee a profound impact on our participants and consequently throughout the center. Students will improve their self-esteem and autonomy, they will feel more prepared for an international professional career and will have more interest for other cultures and languages. They will be encouraged to participate in other educational projects at local and European level. The center will improve its projection at the local level as a point of reference in the field of European projects in the field of professional training. In the long term, the goal is for the entire educational community of the center to be aware of the importance of initiatives of this type and each year more students and teachers are interested in participating in mobility projects."

Context and Background:The Project that has now been completed had the overall aim of consolidating Escola del Treball as a coordinading organization of a VET Erasmus+ Project. It terminates the second phase of the strategy of Internationalization of the Escola del Treball (EdT), a school that aims at improving its educational offer by means of encouraging the participation of students and academic staff in mobility activities of the Erasmus+ Programme. We must highlight the firm committment on the part of the School Board to a leadership and management of the school international relations of a more professional and collaborative kind, different from the existing one rather based on individual, specific teachers who often relied too much on their personal networks to identify partners abroad. Only 24 of the 25 student mobilities for a traineeship abroad in an enterprise or any other relevant workplace that we were awarded for this Project were executed, since one of the students decided to give up his scholarship and come back to Spain. The 24 mobilities took place in 5 different countries Italy, Poland, Germany, Portugal and Finland, in 2 flows: the first, from May to July 2017 (7 mobilities, no dropouts), and the second, from May to July 2018 (18 mobilities, 1 dropout). We were not awarded any of the 8 staff mobilities we applied for. Nevertheless, in the budget we were awarded the corresponding amount of OS.In most cases, the mobilities lasted 30 days + 2 of travel. Objectives:As for the objectives related to the students, in the short and medium term, the Project aimed at testing the students in a foreign working environment. This experience would help him grow as a person thanks to the expected acquisition of transversal key competences as identified by the European Union, especially the use of a foreign language, the awareness of an European citizenship, basic competences in science and technology, learning to learn, social and civic competences, sense of initiative and entrepreneurship, cultural awareness and expresion. In the long run, the objective was to improve employability, reinforcing self-esteem and building up confidence. We could not fulfill the objective of creating work teams of students and teachers to learn languages, but no doubt this Project has contributed to our school community empowerment. It has given us a positive assessment of our educational task in the context of cross-curricular work abroad. There have been some changes from the original application: two of the target countries -UK and Greece- were dismissed due to lack of proper partners; France was given up by the student. The distribution according to the country of destination were as follows: 4 students to Poland (Wroclaw); 2 students to Portugal (Setúbal:Montijo); 1 student to Germany (Leverkusen); 1 student to Finland (Rovaniemi). The 16 students who went to Italy were scattered through the country: Bologne, Anzola dell'Emilia(bo), Messina, Zola Pedrosa, Atessa, Forli, Ravenna and Lippo di Calderara di Reno, in cities where we found the most suitable workplacements.Number, type and profile of the participants:Only one third of the students were female (8 out of 24). This inequality reflects the fact that most of the students that enrol in the courses of sport, science or technology are male.- 12 students of Laboratory Operations (Italy), of which 7 female; - 3 students (2 males, 1 female) of Administration and Management (Finland, Germany and Italy);- 2 students (male) Electromechanical Maintenance (Portugal);- 1 student (male) of Electrical and Automatic Installations (Poland);- 3 students (male) of Welding and Boilermaking (2 Italy, 1 Poland);- 1 student (male) of Mechaning (Poland);- 2 students (male) of Football.Seven of them were already graduate students and three were under 18. The distribution of the scholarships was made taking into account the profile of the applicants, their interests and the need our school has to promote the courses related to sports and tehnical branches. The expected learing outcomes were achieved. The International Team was in charge of the mobilities management. The two mobilities in Portugal were directly managed and supervised by a teacher of Administration and Finance of EdT; the mobilities in Finland and Germany by our English teacher and Mobility Coordinator. Mundus Association was in charge of the management of the rest of mobilities under the supervision of the Head of Studies and the International Team. In all cases, a monitoring plan was established before the mobility. The non-graduated students were enrolled in the Qbid system, an online application developed by the Department of Education of the regional government of Catalonia to better manage and validate the traineeships inland and abroad.

The secondary school Virgen de las Nieves has extensive experience in European projects and wants to keep participating in Erasmus+ projects in order to provide innovative and quality education that could suit the current needs of the labour market and the European reality. That is why this school applies for a Vocational Training Project aimed to students and teachers. The activity for students consists of internships in companies of Italy, specifically in Palermo and Forlì: 42 students will be sent to Italy for 3 months, divided into 2 flows of 21 students; one group will go during the school year 2017/2018 and the other one during 2018/2019. Among the students’ profiles there are students of Basic Vocational Training and Initial Vocational Training. The fields of Basic Vocational Training are Car maintenance and Electricity. Regarding Initial Vocational Training, we can find fields such as Electromechanics in motor vehicles, Carpentry and Furniture, Technician in telecommunication installations, Electromechanical maintenance, Machining and Electromechanics of machinery. In addition, to promote equality of opportunities, this school encourages the participation of students at risk of social exclusion, mainly among the groups of Basic Vocational Training. This year also includes, for the first time, two students with hearing impairment in every flow sent to Italy. For this reason, we ask for the participation of accompanying teachers. In case of students with specials needs, these teachers will have knowledge of sign language interpreting in order to accompany them during the whole internship. In case of possible minors or students at risk of social exclusion, one accompanying teacher will be sent to Palermo and another one to Forlì during the first and last week in order to guarantee the project quality. Moreover, the activity aimed to teachers, will consist of job-shadowing in schools of Vocational Training in Germany and Finland. This school has collaborated previously with these partners and wants to keep collaborating because of the quality of its education provided in both countries. This way, we pretend that a bigger number of teachers could broaden their knowledge in training projects, ICT, administrative management, monitoring strategies, etc… and that good internships could be promoted. Participating teachers teach lessons in Vocational Training in specific subjects as well as in common subjects. This project is divided into three parts: “before”, “during” and “after” the mobility. Before the mobility, logistical and quality aspects will be organized. The school will be in touch with the project partners to arrange accommodation, transport, training programme and the different agreements between the parts involved in the project. The flight tickets and insurances will be managed as well as the preparation of the participants in order to facilitate the integration in the country. During the mobility, accompanying teachers, intermediary and host organisations will take part in monitoring process of students at the school. Managers of the school will be in contact by email and by telephone with different organisations. This monitoring process will be supervised by the accompanying teachers. Furthermore, participants will regularly complete assessment sheets and a final evaluation of the project that will make easier the monitoring and evaluation of the project. After the mobility, meetings with participants will be organised to make a final assessment and to analyse the results of the project. Those results will be disseminated through webpages, European result platform, local press, briefings, etc. With this project we pretend to improve the knowledge and professional competences, linguistic and technical skills as well as the intercultural knowledge of every participant. The school Virgen de las Nieves wants to offer quality education and to promote the continuous training of educational staff. This way, students would be able to improve their profile and acquire a greater autonomy, which will broaden their professional opportunities and will reduce in the future the employment rate. In addition to teaching of specific subjects in Vocational Training, our job is to teach qualified citizens, with autonomy and European values, to face difficulties in our society and in the labour market. For this reason, the school wants to keep taking part in this type of European projects and to keep promoting international education to achieve these goals.
