"In the last months of 2017 the economy of Treviso Province, where the Consortium members are located, recorded positive signs of economic recovery, achieving the highest growth rates among provinces of Veneto region. Despite positive performance of exports in the main manufacturing sectors, the youth unemployment rate above the regional average and the drop in new business conducted by young people testify a reality in which growth opportunities, however, do not involve young people. Attentive to the requests of the economic context in which they are integrated, some Institutes from Treviso territory shared the need to join in a Consortium to create a network of collaboration and exchange of good practices that will develop their European dimension and offer to students the opportunity to develop those skills (linguistic, technical, soft skills) necessary to increase their attractiveness towards the national and international labor market. In collaboration with trade associations and local public entities, Institutes from Treviso participating in the project (ITIS ""E. Barsanti"", IIS ""Vittorio Veneto"" Città della Vittoria, ITS ""Riccati-Luzzatti"", ISISS ""C. Rosselli"", ISISS ""F. Besta"", IS ""G. Galilei"") have created a mobility consortium, aiming at improving the level of collaboration and exchange of teaching methods among schools so that they can compete, for the quality of the educational offer, with the main national and European institutes; involving the world of work and local production companies in the training process to reduce the distance between the world of education and the world of work; enhancing the language skills of students from technical and vocational schools, in line with the export vocation of local companies, and ensuring the inclusiveness of the local school system through training experiences that can involve all students, even those who have fewer opportunities. These objectives will be pursued through the implementation of vocational internships in companies and professional studios in Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Malta in the summer of 2019, involving 120 students (20 for each school) coming from the following fields of study: mechanics and energy, electronics and information technology, graphics and communication, administration and finance, international relations for marketing, industrial and craft production, commercial and social-health services. After a phase of linguistic-cultural and technical preparation, the young participants will spend 4 weeks of internships abroad in companies and institutions in line with their school path, where they will be supported by a company tutor who will assign them the tasks necessary to reach the learning objectives established in the Learning Agreement before their departure. Once the mobility is over, students will be involved by their teachers in the assessment of the acquired skills, which, through written tests and group sessions, will help them to re-elaborate the experience and to hypothesize its impact in the long term. The definition of a clear communication strategy and the identification of operational teams will ensure efficient cooperation within the Consortium, necessary for the coordination of the partners in the planned activities and for the achievement of the project objectives. Participants will acquire and enhance their skills both at a professional level and at a personal level, which will allow them to face the challenges arising from the world of work with greater confidence and preparation and to integrate more easily in multicultural socio-working contexts. In turn, schools will be part of a more European network, thanks to the establishment of professional relationships with foreign organizations and companies, and will adapt the educational paths to the needs of the labor market, reducing the distance between the school world and the world of work, thanks also to the cooperation with trade associations and local municipalities. These organizations will offer young people greater visibility and connections with local and national companies, promoting the intersection of labor demand with job offer and reducing, in the long term, the youth unemployment rate within the province of Treviso."
