They don´t want to be restricted in their thinking and conquer Europe as ambassadors of the HLW Perg. The project initiative Erasmusplus supports the mobility within the European Union. In the summer 2017, 20 students of the HLW Perg are going to complete their internship for three months in Spain, France, the United Kingdom and Germany in the period from June 1st until September 30th. 15 students chose France, Spain and the United Kingdom as their target countries to improve their language skills in French, Spanish and English. 5 students chose Germany for their internship. Their primary motive is the mobility within and for Europe. The five students are not ready to do their internship in a foreign speaking country yet. For 20 students the third school year ends on May 31st, 2017 and the following school year starts on October 2nd, 2017. In the curriculum of the five years of education at the HLW it is written, that a compulsory internship with a minimum duration of three months between the third and fourth school year is part of the school education. The internship may be completed in an economic and administration business, but preferably in hotel and gastronomy businesses. According to § 34a of the Vocational Training Act, many professional and training qualifications are connected to the school education after finishing the final exams. The proof of a three-month internship in the sectors hotel business and gastronomy and the associated organizational departments (kitchen, restaurant, bar, reception and catering) enable job-related advantages and clear the way for independency. Targets and expected results of an internship abroad: • Living and working in another country for three months. • Application and extension of the eight key competences and of the knowledges and skills acquired in school • Improvement of opportunities on the national, European and international labor market. The district of Perg is characterized by the settlement of many international economic businesses, such as Habau, Engel, Hödlmayr, … • Promotion of mobility and flexibility • Strengthening life skills, personality and independency • Development in self-determination and personal responsibility • Increased acceptance of challenges such as working and living in an intercultural environment • Improvement of language skills and communication in English, Spanish and French • New friendships • Expansion of personal horizon and getting to know other organization and cultures, business organizations and work flows

The aim is to convey European varietal and terroir-specific characteristics and to find adaptations to climate change.•The restrictive budgetary resources federal institutions only allow a few activities abroad for employees. With Erasmus funding, important individual activities can be supported.<< Objectives >>•Regional peculiarities in European viticulture and fruit growing are to be brought closer to the young trainees. With this knowledge, quality-promoting but also climate change-adapted strategies for Austrian wine and fruit producers should result.•The authenticity testing of wine is prescribed by the introduction of a community database within the European Union (EU wine database). This results in the obligation of the member states to produce authentic wines for isotope analysis. The samples are analysed in laboratories of the member states according to the standard of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV). The HBLA and BA for Viticulture and Pomology in Klosterneuburg has had the laboratory facility for a year and acts as the responible authority in Austria. The expert for stable isotope analysis is foreseen to be trained in the field of stable isotope analysis in wine at the JRC in Geel (home of the European Reference Centre for Control in the Wine Sector).<< Implementation >>•Short- and long-term mobilities for young people between 11th and 12th grade, but also job shadowing for employees abroad are planned.<< Results >>•On the one hand, the communication of varietal and terroir-specific characteristics but also strategies for adaptation to climate change within the European Union should lead to a diverse quality-promoting awareness. On the other hand, the international knowledge exchange and implementation of isotope analytics enables the identification of the origin of wines and fruits. In this way, major economic damage to the Austrian wine and fruit industry due to false declarations can be averted in the future."
