Our project 2014-1-HR01-KA103-000041 is an Erasmus+ KA1 Learning Mobility for Individuals project. Its objective is to provide mobility opportunities for students and staff at the University of Split. Students reach the objectives of mobility: studying in an international environment, broadening horizons, acquiring new knowledge, skills and cosmopolitan spirit. Teaching staff enrich their professional background and portfolio; acquire new knowledge, skills and competences that could help them improve their teaching approach and technique, as well as make new contacts in their professional world. Administrative staff attend structured staff training weeks and/or job shadowing scheme in order to further develop their knowledge, skills and competences required for their daily routines at work, especially if those routines concern administration of EU funded projects, outgoing and incoming mobility administration and procedures. From 1 June 2014 to 30 September 2015, 304 individuals from the University of Split benefited from this opportunity and spent a mobility period abroad. 170 students experienced student mobility for studies, 49 students benefited from student mobility for traineeships, 21 teaching staff members performed their staff mobility for teaching and 64 staff members experienced their staff mobility for training. Student mobility for studies had an average duration of almost 5 months (4 full months and 19,83 extra days). The most popular destinations were Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Portugal and Spain. Number of students from disadvantaged backgrounds is high: 68 out of 170. Student mobility for traineeships had an average duration of 4 months (4 full months and 3,78 extra days). The most popular destinations were Italy, Germany, Spain and United Kingdom.Staff mobility for teaching had an average duration of 5 days. The most popular destinations were Czech Republic, Turkey and Slovenia. Staff mobility for training had an average duration of 5 days. The most popular destinations were Italy, France, Spain and Czech Republic. Majority of students and staff reported improvement in their competences after participating in the mobility. General satisfaction of participants, both outbound and inbound, with their mobility experience ranges from 89.80% for student mobility for traineeships to 100% for outbound staff. Students took OLS assessment tests prior to and after the mobility, some of them completed the OLS language course as well. Results of our project are visible across the University of Split and wider. Mobile participants spread the word of the benefits of mobility and encourage their friends, colleagues and co-workers to apply. Information and dissemination activities organised by the International Relations Office of the University of Split tend to reach the entire academic community and offer reliable partner for mobility preparation, implementation and reporting. Impact of this project to our current Erasmus+ project is more than obvious: only for student mobility for studies we received 100 applications more than a year before, while student mobility for traineeships is already going over the estimated numbers. Another impact is that the University of Split is becoming very attractive to foreign students. Increase in the number of incoming participants, both students and staff, proves the domino effect of the results of our last Erasmus projects to influence this one. One of the brilliant examples of the synergy of results, impact and long-term benefits is International Staff Training Week that we organised third time in a row. It took place from 25 May ? 29 May 2015 under the title Administration and Management of EU Projects and hosted 14 participants from 8 European countries. Participants were selected on the basis of their professional background and job description. We focused on case studies and exchange of best practices, creating a pool of ideas for future reference, using networking to establish strong interinstitutional and interpersonal ties with colleagues who attended the event, creating the framework for future joint projects. Longer-term benefits for our institution arising from this project are raising the awareness of the academic community on the importance of opening towards international activities, mobility and projects; accepting and living the fact that mobility can improve the quality of studying, teaching, learning and working at all levels.
