"The main goal of the project was to establish a permanent cooperation with the institutions from the partner countries, with whom we, through cooperation on other projects, have established contacts and found common needs and possibilities for cooperation in the field of education and research. The cooperation with the partner institutions is mainly related to the fields of science and technology, environmental protection, viticulture and wine production, and, to a lesser extent, to the fields of cultural history, world literature and arts. In addition to establishing a long-lasting cooperation, as the main objective of the project, important goals were to provide the possibility of quality education and training for students, involvement of foreign experts in the pedagogical process and research work at the University of Nova Gorica (UNG), as well as the UNG associates’ help in developing and raising the quality of higher education at participating universities, especially from Azerbaijan and Ukraine. In addition to raising the level of internationalisation in participating universities and successful student education and training of professional staff, with the realisation of the project, we achieved significant results in the scientific and research field (especially with the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), University of Niš (UNiš), University of California), which are already reflected in joint scientific publications in international journals and presentations at the international conferences. In addition, the UNG coorganized the International Summer School ""Photothermal and Photoacoustic Techniques: Theory, Instrumentation, and Applications"" together with MSU and got a bilateral project for the period 2019-2020 “Russian scientist in Lubiana – Evgen Kansky”. The cooperation with Chiang Mai University in Thailand enabled to UNG students the participation with their pieces of arts at the international festival in Thailand. From the indirect results of the project, we should also mention the involvement of the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University expert in the commission for evaluation and defence of doctoral dissertations at UNG. The number of planned mobilities was 48, the UNG realized 49 exchanges, what is more than expected. The majority of exchanges were realized by the staff for the purpose of training, following by the students, who studied at the UNG. The majority of the exchanges were done with Serbia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Russia, whereby the major number of student exchanges were from Ukraine. An active dissemination of information on the possibilities and results of the project through the websites and social networks also helped to achieve a great interest of exchanges. Long-term benefits of the project are primarily seen in the establishment of quality cooperation in the research area between the UNG and the partner institutions which will strive towards more successful engagement in international projects, in joint mentoring, and the possibility of a double diplomas, which will ensure management of state-of-the-art achievements and raising the quality of personnel and education in different study fields."

The main goal of the project was to establish a permanent cooperation with the institutions from the partner countries (Azerbaijan, China, and Russia) with whom we, through cooperation on other projects, have established contacts and found common needs and possibilities for cooperation in the field of education and research. This is mainly related to the fields of science and technology, environmental protection, viticulture and wine production, and, to a lesser extent, to the fields of cultural history and world literature. In addition to establishing a long-lasting cooperation, as the main objective of the project, important goals were also to stimulate exchange of students of the University of Nova Gorica (UNG) abroad, to provide the possibility of quality education and training for students from participating universities at the UNG, involvement of foreign experts in the pedagogical process and research work at UNG, as well as UNG associates’ help in developing and raising the quality of higher education at all three levels of study, especially in relation to the participating university from Azerbaijan. The latter also influenced the profile of participants in the project, among which there are four professional associates of the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU), who were additionally educating themselves in the field of internationalisation in higher education, in Bologna studies, as well as in quality assurance in higher education. Foreign students who were studying at UNG, especially at the first and second level of studies, and were included in the study programmes Economic Engineering, Environment, Physics, and Viticulture and Enology, realised the majority of exchanges.Apart from one doctoral student, the UNG included experienced professors from the field of environment, viticulture and winemaking, and world literature. Visiting professors at the UNG lectured in the field of analytical chemistry, materials, economics, and marketing of wine. We also included one expert associate at the UNG, in order to be acquainted with coordinators of the Erasmus+ programme at the participating university in Azerbaijan, which will enable better cooperation on the new joint projects that we have acquired in the meantime. In addition to raising the level of internationalisation in all participating universities and successful student education and training of professional staff, with the realisation of the project, we achieved significant results in the scientific and research field (especially from the Lomonosov Moscow State University, where an UNG student has performed an important part of the research work within her doctoral dissertation), which are already reflected in joint scientific publications in international journals. In addition, the UNG signed an agreement on joint mentoring and a double degree in doctoral studies with the ADAU and prepared a new study programme in the field of viticulture and wine production, in which the first ADAU students already enrolled in the academic year 2018/19. From the indirect results of the project, we should also mention the involvement of the Lomonosov Moscow State University expert in the commission for evaluation and defence of doctoral dissertations at UNG.According to the number of exchanges, the project had the biggest impact on the ADAU, where interest in exchanges and studies at the UNG has greatly expanded among students, although it is still significantly obstructed by the lack of English language skills. An active dissemination of information on the possibilities and results of the project (exchanges, agreements) through the website and social networks of the ADAU also helped to achieve a great interest.Long-term benefits of the project are primarily seen in the establishment of quality cooperation in the research area between the UNG and the Lomonosov Moscow State University, which will enable participating universities to more successfully engage in international projects, in joint mentoring, and the possibility of a double diploma between the UNG and the ADAU, which will ensure management of state-of-the-art achievements and raising the quality of personnel and education in the interdisciplinary field of chemistry, biomolecular, and environmental science at the ADAU.
