    Funder Contribution: 380,288 EUR

The project comprised outgoing staff mobilities and incoming staff and student mobilities for study from a total of 11 partner organisations; four from Kosovo, four from Albania, two from Egypt and one from Lebanon. These mobilities were focussed on three main fields of study: Business, Engineering and Computing. Each field was led by a project lead who was a specialist in the area. A total of 133 mobilities were completed. This followed on from a previous ICM collaboration with Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Egypt (ICM022799), as well as links already developed by relationships with institutions in Kosovo and Albania. An example of this collaboration is the 4 Tempus projects in Albania that Staffordshire University has co-ordinated (JEP09816-95, S_JEP12157-97, AC_JEP14356-99 and 145061-Tempus2008-UK-JPHES). A total of 107 mobilities was granted, and this was exceeded. Activities included student participants from undergraduate to PhD level, as well as pedagogic developments with staff on both training and teaching mobilities. The project has fullfilled its objectives in increasing the scope of international relationships with existing and new partners in order to promote educational, research and cultural links with these partners.

    Funder Contribution: 274,480 EUR

The project comprised of incoming staff and student mobilities for study and training from a total of twelve organisations: Four partner organisations from Jordan, three partner organisations from Albania and four partner organisations from Kosovo. Two of the Jordanian organisations, Tafila Technical University and Al-Balqa' University, had been partners in previous International Credit Mobility Projects (2015-1-UK01-KA107-022799 and 2017-1-UK01-KA107-036258) and two organisations were new partners, while the Albanian organisations had also been partners in previous mobilities (UK2015-1-UK01-KA107-022799), as had the Kosovan organisations, with the exception of N.Sh.Kolegji Aga Xhite which was a new partner. The initial project plan was for a total of thirteen outgoing staff mobilities for teaching, with twelve incoming staff mobilities for training and eight student mobilities for study from Albania and with fourteen incoming student mobilities for studies and twelve staff mobilities for training from Kosovo, largely based in our Staffordshire Business School and focussing on Business and Finance; eight student mobilities for studies and four student mobilities for traineeships, eight staff mobilities for training and two staff mobilities for teaching from Jordan, based in our School of Creative Arts and Engineering (later Digital Technologies and Arts) and focussing on Electrical Engineering. A total of 90 mobilities were completed, exceeding the original plan: The increase in number of student mobilities (undergraduate, at Level 6) was made possible by reducing their length of traineeships, although this was also impacted by the global pandemic from March 2020. It also proved more beneficial to reduce the length of time for staff mobilities so that a greater number of staff were able to participate in a manner that was more manageable within their workloads at their home institutions. Activities included student participation in study alongside home students, as well as pedagogic developments with staff through training mobilities. The project has built on existing collaborations and developed these, as evidenced in the continued collaboration with a number of the Albanian and Kosovan institutions in the current 2019-1-KA107-061366, and with collaboration in a KA2 project in which both Staffordshire University and Al-Balqa' Applied University are partners (Project No. 610265-EPP-1-2019-l-HR-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP: Enhancing Teaching, Learning and Graduate Employability through University-Enterprise Cooperation) .The project has fulfilled its objectives in increasing the scope of international relationships with existing and new partners in order to promote educational, research and cultural links, contributing to the transfer of knowledge and research best practices from the UK higher education sector to the partner institutions. There was a significant impact on the project caused by the global pandemic which restricted travel and completion of a number of planned training mobilities, as although we were able to extend the duration of the project to July 2021, we were not able to carry out any additional mobilities as international travel was restricted for the length of the extension.

The project comprised of incoming staff and student mobilities for study from two partner organisations from Jordan. One of these, Tafila Technical University, had been one of the partners in a previous International Credit Mobility Project, 2015-2-UK01-KA107-022799, while Al-Balqa' University is a new partner. The initial project plan was for four outgoing staff mobilities for teaching, with six incoming staff mobilities for training and six student mobilities for study, based in our School of Creative Arts and Engineering and focussing on Electrical Engineering. A total of 30 mobilities were completed, exceeding the original plan: The increase in number of student mobilities (undergraduate, at Level 6) was made possible by reducing their length of study to one semester which also had the benefit of requiring Short Term Visas for study. It also proved more beneficial to reduce the length of time for staff mobilities so that a greater number of staff were able to participate in a manner that was more manageable within their workloads at their home institutions. Activities included student participation in study alongside home students, as well as pedagogic developments with staff through training mobilities. The project has built on existing collaborations and developed these, as evidenced in the continued collaboration with the two institutions in the current 2018-KA107-046977, and with the development of a successful KA2 bid in which both Staffordshire University and Al-Balqa' Applied University are partners. The project has fulfilled its objectives in increasing the scope of international relationships with existing and new partners in order to promote educational, research and cultural links, contributing to the transfer of knowledge and research best practices between the UK higher education sector and the partner institutions.
