This action supports physical and blended mobility of higher education students and staff from/to third countries not associated to Erasmus+. Students in all study fields and cycles can take part in a study period or traineeship abroad. Higher education teaching and administrative staff can take part in professional development activities abroad, as well as staff from the field of work in order to teach and train students or staff at higher education institutions.

The Silesian University in Opava realized the project of Erasmus+ Key Action 1 – Learning Mobility of Individuals - mobilities between programme and partner countries number 2017-1-CZ01-KA107-034877 for the period of 26 months from 1st June 2019 to 31st July 2019. The main aim of the project was to establish the cooperation and realize the mobilities with the universities in the India and the Uzbekistan.In accordance with the project rules and documentation the inter-institutional agreements with:-Chattisgarh Wxani Vivekanand Technical University (Bhilai Institute of Technology Durg) - BIT-University of Delhi – Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women - DU-National University of Uzbekistan - NUUzhave been signed.On the basis of these agreements the student mobilities for study and staff mobilities for teaching were carried out. The main project´s indicators were successfully fulfilled by realisation of 37 mobilities. Out of the total number there were:-16 student mobilities for study (2 outgoing and 14 incoming students)-21 staff mobilities for teaching (7 outgoing and 14 incoming academics) In cooperation with NUUz there was realized 15 mobilities. 22 mobilities were realized in cooperaton with Indian universities. The participation in the project supported the strategic goal set in the Long-term Plan of the Silesian university in Opava for the years 2016-2020 in the field of internationalisation – “Strengthen the international dimension of the educational scientific research and creative activities and academic environment at the university”. The university fulfilled its commitment to maintain and extent the international character of its activities including the direct cooperation with international partners that contributes to the growth of the attractiveness of the university as a scientific and research institution at the international level. The project enabled to increase the number of visiting academics and international students. The participating students increased their employability in the labour market. The academics had a chance to extend their experience and skills in teaching of the students from different cultural environment. The mobilities of the academics significantly contributed to the transfer of knowledge. The theoretical knowledge of the academics of the Institute of Computer Science SU were complemented by the application-oriented knowledge of Indian colleagues.Fully consistent with the Long-term Plan of the Silesian university is the Strategy of NUUz to maintain and extend the inter-institutional character of educational and scientific activities including the direct cooperation with foreign universities. The realisation of the project contributed to fulfill the strategic objective to encrease the number of international students and teachers.

"The project number 2015-1-CZ01-KA103-012928 that was realized under the Framework of Erasmus+ programme Key Action 1 – Learning mobility of individuals in programme countries represented the main mean of support of students´ a teachers´ mobility and played an important role in the development of internationalization of Silesian university in Opava in the academic year 2015/2016.All objectives defined in the Grant agreement were successfully met. There were realized 179 mobilities. 86 students participated in the activity Students mobility for Studies, 22 students participated in the Students mobility for Traineeship. 57 teachers participated in Staff mobility for Teaching and 14 employees participated in Staff mobility for Training. There were 71 men and 108 women involved in the project.The total duration of students’ mobilities was 494 month and 24 days (433 months and 6 days were used for the students’ mobility for studies and 61 months and 18 days for students’ mobilities for traineeship). The total duration of staff mobility was 434 days (Staff Mobility for Teaching 329 days, Staff Mobility for Traineeship 105 days).There were realized 2 mobilities of students from disadvantage background and 4 traineeship mobilities of recent graduates.Financial support allocated to SU for the project was completely used.All the activities were realized in accordance with the Erasmus+ programme rules, Grant Agreement, Erasmus Policy Statement (EPS) and quality commitment of SU Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2014-2020 (ECHE). Top partners of the university in academic year 2015/2016 were Canakkale Onsekiz Mart Universitesi, Turkey; Univerzita Mateja Bela v Banskej Bystrici, Slovakia; Oulun Ammattikorkeakoulu, Finland; Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Slovakia; Univerzita Pavla Jozefa Safarika v Kosiciach, Slovakia;As a result of good practices exchange with Oulun Ammattikorkeakoulu, Finland the new centre ""Business Gate"" was opened at the School of Business and Administration in Karvina in the academic year 2015/2016. Oulun Ammattikorkeakoulu, Finland is a long-term partner of School of Business and Administration and it runs centre called “Business Kitchen”. Both centres serve as a platform for cooperation of the students and teachers with the representatives of business and the students are given a chance to participate in solving the real problems of business sector there. The cooperation with Pavel Josef Safarik University in Kosice, Slovakia under Erasmus+ programme resulted in the preparation and accreditation of joint degree master study programme Public administration and public policy in the centre Europe. The study programme was opened and the first admission procedure was realized in the academic year 2015/2016.All these activities are in accordance with the long-term strategic objectives of the internationalisation of the university and support the international environment and development of SU."
