It contains important principles relating to ERASMUS activities. The OVGU currently cooperates with 163 Erasmus partners from 27 countries in the areas of student and teaching mobility as well as staff training mobility.ERASMUS objectives at the OVGU are as follows:1.Internationalisation of TeachingIncreasing the number of internationally competitive curricula at all levels;Increase of teaching mobility and the number of international academic staff;Increase of incoming students mobility;Intensifying the partnerships with strategically important countries.2.Strengthening the cooperation with non-university institutions and companiesClose cooperation with the city of MagdeburgUniversity staff abroad as a ""training period"".3.Internationalisation in the fields of organisation and human resources developmentPromoting administrative administrative staff mobilities;Human resources development measures;Increased participation in multilateral projects.136 student mobilities and 22 ST mobilities were funded through the 2016 Erasmus + program.136 SMS mobilities, of which 65 are Bachelor, 63 Master and 8 Staatsexamen students.13 STA mobilities: 5 in the field of sport, 7 in the field of engineering and 1 in the field of medicine.9 STT mobilities, of which 4 are academic staff members who have completed further training at universities, 3 staff members from the International Office who have undergone a staff training at a partner university and 2 staff members who have completed a language course. The targeted Erasmus goals could be fully achieved providing a highly positive added value for the OVGU's internationalization process. In particular, the monthly funding rates for the student mobility were perceived in a highly positive light by the students and enabled a broader range of interested persons to strive for a stay abroad and to realise it in most cases. Erasmus mobilities promoted the internationalisation of the university drastically and ensured the increase of intercultural awareness among students, as well as administrative and academic staff."

The aim of this project is to solve this problem using a novel laser-based temperature-velocity imaging technique developed by the host organisation (Lehrstuhl für Technische Thermodynamik (LTT), Otto-von-Guericke Universität Magdeburg, Germany), which uses thermographic phosphor particles as a flow ‘tracer’. The primary objective of the action is to increase the measureable temperature range via synthesis of new phosphor particles optimised for flow temperature sensing. LTT will collaborate with the Advanced Combustion and Propulsion Lab (ACP), Princeton University, USA, who have developed innovative synthesis methods capable of producing phosphor particles with specific physical and optical properties. At ACP, the candidate fellow (LTT) will learn how to produce phosphors using these advanced methods, and then return to LTT where the new materials will be characterised and proven in flames. A laboratory for phosphor particle production and luminescence characterisation will be installed at LTT. The candidate fellow will develop unique, interdisciplinary expertise in thermographic phosphors, materials that will be at the forefront of future remote sensing technologies. The project will result in completely new measurement capabilities for fundamental and applied research, allowing the design of cleaner, fuel-efficient engines in key automotive, aerospace and power generation industries, thereby using fewer resources and reducing environmental impact. These novel materials will find use in lighting and display technologies and biological sensing, maximising both the impact of the action and opportunities for future collaboration with ACP and other EU research institutions and industry.

It contains important principles relating to activities within the Erasmus+ programme. The Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility, which was launched in 2015, enabled OVGU to cooperate more closely with partner universities in Russia and Ukraine. The Erasmus+ objectives at the OVGU are as follows:1.Internationalisation of teaching•increasing the number of internationally competitive curricula at all levels•increase of teaching mobility and the number of international academic staff•increase of incoming students•intensifying the cooperation activities with strategically important countries•implementation of double degree programmes with Russia and Ukraine2.Strengthen the cooperation with non-university institutions and companies•university staff abroad as a ""training period""•realisation of administrative projects between partner universities3.Internationalisation in the fields of organisation and human resources development•promoting administrative staff mobilities•human resources development measuresThe targeted Erasmus+ goals could be fully achieved providing a highly positive added value for the OVGU's internationalisation process. In particular, the monthly funding rates for the student mobility enabled incoming students to study at OVGU and consequently the achievement of a degree. For this reason, the funding rates were perceived very positively and profitably by the students. It first received the university charter in 2003 which contains the principles for the ERASMUS activities. The Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg is currently cooperating with 129 ERASMUS partners from 28 different countries in the areas of student, teaching and training staff mobility. The objectives set for ERASMUS at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg are:1.Internationalisation of teaching Increasing the number of curricula developed internationally; Increasing the teaching mobility and the international teaching capacity; Increasing the student mobility; Intensification of cooperations with Central and East European Countries;2. Extension of the cooperation with non-university establishments Promotion of internships abroad; Promotion of the university staff's ""training period"" abroad3. Internationalisation in the areas of organization and human resources development Promotion of the administrative staff's stays abroad (""study visits"") abroad; personnel development measures; increased participation in multilateral projects and intensive programmes137 student mobilities and 26 ST mobilities could be supported by the ERASMUS+ Programme in 2014. 137 SMS mobilities: 68 Bachelor students, 59 Master students and 10 state exam students.12 STA mobilities: 4 in the field of Sports, 3 in the field of Languages, 2 in the field of Engineering, 2 mobilities in the field of Politics and 1 in Education.14 STT mobilities: 6 academic staff doing further education at a partner university, 3 administrative staff completing a language course, 4 international officers doing staff training at a partner university and 1 administrative staff member qualified in gender equality. The ERASMUS objectives have been fully achieved and made a positive alue on the internationalisation of the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. Due to the higher monthly promotion rates the requests for staying abroad have increased and have been implemented in many cases. Moreover, there is a greater flexibility concerning funding opportunites which cover more than one semester. The internationalisation and the cultural sentizitation of students and university staff can be clearly felt."
