Study programmes are distributed among five faculties: Education, Computer Science, Economics, Design and Art and Science & Technology. Besides promoting in-house internationalization, unibz believes that mobility and international cooperation are equally important. The mobility of students, teaching and administrative staff, as a means of personal development and professional lifelong learning, is therefore encouraged. Through its networking with partner universities unibz has become an active participant in the large European Higher Education Area (EHEA).This positive trend was confirmed in the academic year 2017-2018 with regard to the number of students participating in the Erasmus+ programme: 145 study mobility participants and 16 traineeship mobility participants (94 outbound students in 2014-2015, 122 in 2015-2016 and 140 in 2016-2017). This is particularly remarkable when compared to the number of regular students enrolled at unibz. 12 new inter-institutional agreements were promoted by the teaching staff, which increased the number of unibz partner universities. But the most significant data is the index of satisfaction found among all those who participated in the programme which reaches a percentage close to 97%.The programme management by the International relations service is characterized by a process which includes:- submission, editing and approval or renewal of inter-institutional agreements;- preparation of the calls for mobility for study, traineeship, mobility of teachers and administrative staff as well as publication, promotion, advice, selection, allocation, preparation of the learning agreement and contacts with partner universities; payment of scholarships and contributions;- assistance and advice for incoming students: e.g., arrangements for welcome activities, support in finding an accommodation, registration, language courses, mediation with faculties, integration and socialization activities and issue of transcripts of records.Additionally, a network of unibz buddy students – interested in contributing to the activities of the International relations office, especially with regard to the support of incoming students’ integration – was established and increased. Buddy students also obtained dedicated office hours and took action to found, with the support of unibz, a local section of ESN (currently the association has been pre-accredited).Furthermore, a detailed and stylish guide for incoming students is available. It is complete with all useful information that can make the mobility period at unibz more accessible and enjoyable. Finally, teaching mobility has been made more attractive through supplementary unibz funds.

In their well-established work, “The imperial mode of living”, university professors Ulrich Brand and Markus Wissen have shown how our mode of living leads to global unsustainable development and causes rapid climate crisis. The choice our society has to make is whether prospective social changes will be by design or by disaster. In the project KAUZ we provide education for adults to empower them to take action for a Just Transition towards a solidary mode of living, that secures workers' rights and livelihoods during the shift towards an ecologically sustainable mode of production that counteracts climate crisis and protects biodiversity. The main OBJECTIVE of the project is to create a high quality blended educational package on the imperial and solidary mode of living, and Just Transition which promotes active citizenship, for which as underlying METHODOLOGY we will apply the Global Citizenship Education and Education for Sustainable Development concepts. For this purpose we will create four different intellectual outputs that can be used by NGOs and adult educators to raise awareness for these issues:(1) We will create 4 workshop programs including teaching and learning material providing profound education on the project’s topics. (2) We will create a coherent educational series of microlearnings to be shared via social media and reach a broad audience. It will comprise images, infographics, comics and short videos together with short text that can be consumed within three minutes inciting light bulb moments.(3) We will shoot educational videos comprising whiteboard animation clips explaining key terms, and thought-provoking talks with leading field experts. They will be included as content for discussion in our workshop series, while at the same time being (re)usable as standalone learning content.(4) By creating a podcast-series, we want to reach out to people on their way to work, while doing chores, doing sports etc. In two distinct programs, on one hand, interviews will be held with everyday-role models - from farmers and employees to activists - about their strategies to defy a resource consuming lifestyle; on the other hand, experts will discuss project related topics such as sustainable development, ecological and fair production and consumption. The test-workshops will include a total of 240 PARTICIPANTS, the multiplier events 220 multipliers and the project’s online learning will reach up to several 1000s. Our target group divides into two sub-groups: firstly, adult education professionals, particularly those working in the field of sustainability; secondly and as final beneficiaries, persons of employable age between 18 and 65 open to explore alternative, solidary ways of living and production. We chose this group because our intellectual outputs lay a focus on the topic of work and production. To ensure the LONG-TERM BENEFITS of the project, all content will be made available for download on a newly created website. Further, a database will be established, containing institutions, organizations, networks and dedicated individual multipliers which can be approached to hold workshops and disseminate the educational package.Through a distinct future plan and the active search for sustainable sources of financing to conduct the workshops and create even more microlearnings, videos and podcasts will guarantee sustainability of the project’s outcomes, even after the project’s funding period has ended. Therefore we intend to gain a certain degree of prominence and to raise interest for participation in additional countries.ACTIVITIESTwo TRAININGS will be held:1) Train-the-trainer for two workshops and an expert training on framing and moderation skills 2) Train-the-trainer for two workshops, peer-learning via the exchange of experiences, expert training on organizing and funding activities beyond the project’s lifetime to ensure long lasting success.Four MULTIPLIER EVENTS events are planned as a travelling exhibition “On the unstoppable path to a solidary way of living” with stopovers in all the partner countries. RESULTS AND IMPACT A network will be established between four different institutions, which have experience with the concept of the imperial mode of living, the solidary mode of living, an ecologically sustainable Just Transition, with designing digital and face-to-face teaching material for adults and teachers, and with implementing trainings for adults and teachers in AT, DE, I and HR. The project promotes active citizenship via interactive tools and the creation of lasting networks among the target audience. The intended impact of the project is the empowerment of adult learners to take part in a Just Transition that aims at transforming European societies towards ecological and sustainable development as promoted in the New Green Deal of the European Union.

The knowledge, skills and competences which people acquire in VET should enable them to manage their career and to play an active role in society. These actions will positively influence in the promotion of equity, social cohesion and active citizenship.According to CEDEFOP (The European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training), COMPETENCE is the ability to apply learning outcomes adequately in a defined context (education, work, personal or professional development). It is completed by a comment: ‘competence is not limited to cognitive elements; it also encompasses functional aspects (involving technical skills) as well as interpersonal attributes (social or organisational skills) and ethical values’.The implementation of transversal competences to educational systems is in constant development and brings important benefits. However, these benefits are accompanied by the difficult of the process of assessment by trainers. Based on their own experience, the participants of this project have concluded that the “assessment” of transversal competences is the core issue to be addressed in a competence-based training model. The annual Work Programme adopted by the Commission stress on the need to foster the assessment of transversal skills and promote the take-up of practical entrepreneurial experiences in education, training and youth work. With the main objective to contribute to the EU objectives in this field, the CompAssess project will firstly, establish a European network integrated by recognized organizations that already count with solid basis in the field of transversal competences and have made achievements in assessment methodologies, in order to share best practice experiences in such areas; secondly, the partnership will identify best practice cases in order to proposed assessment methodologies or tools able to be implemented at European level in the VET system; thirdly, it will develop implementation and assessment plans; and finally, the consortium will present new proposals and recommendations about methodologies and tools for competence assessment to education authorities to promote their implementation in the European VET System. The partnership will define a strategy for the establishment and operation of the Network, the best practice cases and definition of methodologies will be carried out through four workshops that will allow the interaction among the partners. Based on the results of the workshops, best practice papers will be drafted, which are crucial for the recommendations for EU policy makers dealing with the VET system. A final event will be held in Spain to present the project outcomes and the establishment of the Network.Participants:The partnership is integrated by universities, VET providers and innovation centers, all of them with vast experience in the implementation of transversal competences: 1. Tknika-ES2. Libera Universita di Bolzano-IT3. Aalborg Universitet-DK4. Ssociedade Protuguesa de Inovaçao-PT5. Colegio Regional del Norte-UK6. Mondragón Unibertistatea-ES7. EUC Syd-DK8. Tangram-ITIntellectual outputs:O1- Set up of the Network and Network operational strategy, evaluation and monitoring methodologyO2- Reference guide of key resourcesO3- Best practices cases on the field of competence assessment at EU levelO4- Best practices implementation and assessment plan05- Best practices assessment report, evaluating its impact. 06- New proposals and recommendations about methodologies and tools for competence assessmentTarget Groups: VET providers Pedagogical development centers Curriculum design responsible teachers Teachers/trainers Trainees VET authorities Trade organizations EU level: EU policy makers dealing with the VET systemAll of them will be the future users and beneficiaries of the CompAssess outcomes.Impact:It is important to belong to a consolidated group focus on “assessment of transversal competences” and that such group counts with the support of education authorities. This is the main objective to consolidate the European network. The target groups will count with tools/methodologies of assessment tested and validated at European level, which will be available to be implemented at VET providers. The tools/methodologies proposed by the CompAssess project will represent a direct contribution for the achievement of the objectives of the EU education strategy 2020, and addressed by this call. VET education authorities will count with key recommendations on the field of assessment of transversal competences.

LUNA (LUnga Notte della ricerca – Lange NAcht der Forschung), which takes place every other year, is a great opportunity for the population to get in touch with scientists, to learn about research projects in the region and to have fun with scientific themes. The main organisers of LUNA are committed to creating a tradition for science and innovation in South Tyrol, organising different science events at planned intervals: LUNA every second year, science cafés every summer, activities for schools throughout the school year, etc. LUNA will be organised for the fourth time on 26 September in Bolzano/Bozen, the principal town of South Tyrol with 100,000 inhabitants. Once again a consortium comprising the European Academy of Bolzano/Bozen, the Free University of Bolzano /Bozen and Techno Innovation South Tyrol will be the main organisers with their headquarters used as the major venues. A further five to seven additional partners (businesses, museums and other research institutions) are expected to open their doors as well. The Night will thus transform Bolzano into an exciting science park, where children and adults will be able to have fun with science at up to ten different venues connected via a free shuttle service. An intensive Awareness Campaign will ensure that about 300,000 people will be aware of LUNA. We expect around 14,000 – 16,000 visitors. From 5 pm until midnight we will show our guests, how “Science makes you fly” – which is the main theme for this year’s event. People will be given the opportunity to participate in many different interactive presentations, games, quizzes, experiments and science performances. They will have the chance to talk, enjoy themselves, eat, drink and even dance with experts and scientists from many different discipline
