The aim of the project is to create and put into operation at Uzhhorod National University (hereinafter – UzhNU) a Jean Monnet Center of Excellence , which will be called the Jean Monnet Transcarpathian Center for the Studying European Development Strategies (hereinafter - JMTC). The importance of launching such an international institution at UzhNU, located in the westernmost region of Ukraine – Transcarpathia, is determined by its geographical location at the intersection of the borders of five European countries. In fact, after a number of Eastern European countries accessed the European Union in 2004, the Transcarpathian region has de facto acquired the status of an outermost EU region, i.e. the territory adjacent to the border territories of Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland. The activities of the Center will be aimed at studying the best practices of the first Eastern European Union Member States – Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Romania, primarily by analyzing the existing competitive strategies of the European Union and by creating specific scientific products to be implemented in this field, at the regional level, in the educational activities of universities and to inform the population. The JMTC’s operation will include: doing research on European and Euro-Atlantic issues (research activities); developing educational and methodological support for European studies (educational activity); accumulating and disseminating knowledge and documentary resources on the issues of European integration and its Ukrainian dimension through cross-border cooperation with neighboring Eastern European countries (education and outreach activities).

"<< Objectives >>The youth exchange entitled “Boost the European feeling” will have a duration of 10 months (01.06.2022 - 30.03.2023) so that the activities undertaken in the preparation, implementation, dissemination and follow-up phase will be of quality. The project will involve 60 young people of Ukrainian ethnicity, aged between 18 and 30 from both Romania and Ukraine. The idea for this project came after a meeting of young Ukrainians in Romania that took place in the summer of 2021. This 3-day meeting was organized by the Union of Ukrainians in Romania in order to create cohesion between young Ukrainians scattered in different parts of the country and to be able to see what their needs are and what actions we, as an organization, could take to help them. We identified that one of the biggest needs that young people of Ukrainian ethnicity in Romania have is the desire to learn more about the European Union, especially regarding the common values of the European Union, but also the principles of unity and diversity. Moreover, young people want to build an intercultural dialogue with young people from Ukraine. Following the discussions with them, they expressed their desire to have the chance to get to know their heritage better, both socially, culturally and historically. Young people of Ukrainian ethnicity have had the chance to participate in formal events organized together with young people from Ukraine, but they expressed their desire to organize a rather non-formal event. The aim is to create a suitable and safe space to give young people of Ukrainian ethnicity the chance to build a closer community and networking, while improving their knowledge of democratic life and the European Union.Objectives:1.Throughout the project, the 60 young people will learn about democratic life, the European Union and the importance of engagement in a democratic society.2. By the end of the project, the 60 participants will feel “more European” (realizing, at the same time, how important their ethnic value is) and more eager to be actively involved in their communities, both in civic and social life and politics.3. During the project, the 60 young Ukrainians will learn how to be more active in social and / or political life, will practice critical thinking and will put into practice methods of highlighting and protecting ethnic values and rights.<< Implementation >>The main activity of youth mobility entitled ""Boost the European feeling"" will take place in Tulcea in July 2022 between 18-25. This activity will bring together a total of 60 young Ukrainians from Romania and Ukraine. Each national group consists of 14 participants and a group leader, aged between 18 and 30 years. Also, 3 facilitators will be present who will coordinate the implementation of the sessions and activities. The selection process will be transparent. In selecting the group, the criteria ensured non-discriminatory participation, offering the same opportunities regardless of gender, religion, sexual orientation, political opinion, etc. We gave priority to young people with limited opportunities, those with no experience in the world of Erasmus + and those who had been involved in writing the project from the beginning.Because the Union of Ukrainians in Romania has several branches throughout the country and, implicitly, there are several young people who want to participate, we decided to do a small selection process, coordinated by the group leaders and the presidents of the organization. To be fair, each group leader and chairperson will select young people from the other country. We decided to use an application form.Together with our partner we decided that young people who want to take part in the project should meet the following criteria:-to be motivated and open to learn more about democratic life, its values, but also about the European Union and its values-to need this project (to have the desire to evolve in the field of the project and to create a strong networking with other young people of the same ethnicity)-a strong motivation to participate-no experience in E + projects-they are part of the organizations that take part in the creation and implementation of the project-to be actively involved in all stages of mobilityQuestions on the application form: What is your motivation for participating in this youth exchange? How many local social and / or political activities have you taken part in so far? What are the biggest challenges you feel being Ukrainian? What are your views on democratic values? What is your knowledge of the European Union and its values? etc.In terms of the activities, we have chosen to implement various sessions, using both formal and non-formal learning methods. To support conscious learning and to ensure that participants benefit from the project, we have developed a complex and interactive program with our partner and facilitators. The methods we have chosen and described in the project are methods that have already been used and tested in other projects by other trainers, both locally and internationally. Therefore, we are confident that the methods chosen are appropriate for the environment we will create during this mobility. Thus, we will use the following methods: getting to know each other, team-building sessions, ice-breakers, individual work, teamwork, research, lectures, presentations, debates, Ikigai method, Life Line, role play, etc. We consider it important to emphasize the activity in the community in which the participants will have the chance to take part in a meeting within the Tulcea City Hall.<< Results >>During the discussions with our partner from Ukraine, we were able to outline those elements that we could implement so that participants are better informed about the European Union and how to maintain ethnic identity in the context of European diversity, while respecting obviously the democratic values.Starting from this idea, below is the list of knowledge, skills and attitudes that we believe the 60 participants will improve by getting involved in all project activities (preparation, implementation, dissemination and follow-up).A. Knowledge- understanding the structure of the European Union and how it works- a brief overview of the history of the creation of the European Union- familiarization with the institutions of the European Union- familiarization and understanding of the concept of democracy- familiarization with the concept of ""European citizen""- understanding the EU accession process- understanding the motto ""Unity in diversity""- traversing all European values- familiarization with the opportunities offered by the various programs within the European Union- understanding of the Erasmus + Program and the opportunities offered by this program- participants will understand how important it is to preserve their ethnic values in the context of diversity at European level- understand the importance of being actively involved in policy making- participants will learn more about their rights and how they can exercise those rights- participants will become familiar with non-formal education- the 8 key competencies and Youthpass- understanding the Erasmus + environmentSkills-capacity to exercise rights-the ability to organize and implement local activities with and for young people about the EU, Erasmus +, democratic and European values-the ability to launch campaigns that take into account European values- ability to give coherent speeches- the ability to discuss issues related to democracy, the EU, European values, etc.- ability to implement non-formal methods- be able to recognize and use their strengths- to become a voice in their community on the subject of democracy and pro-Europe attitude- to be promoters of democracy and the EU- finding new development opportunities for their communities- Erasmus + promotionattitudes- raising awareness of the European context-aware of the importance of being active in one's own communities both socially and politically- understanding that they can exercise their rights- a positive attitude towards the EU and European values, which does not want to erase ethnic / national values, but to create unity- to feel more empowered to become promoters of democracy-will be motivated to get involved in their own communities and organize activities- they will be more aware of the political environment- they will believe in their ability to overcome obstacles and act effectively in their community-the desire to help other young people in their communities by the opportunities offered by E +In addition to improving the knowledge, skills and attitudes of the participants, we will also focus on creating results that we can share with other young people, in our own communities and in our organizations. We have established that we will have at least 2 concrete results at the end of the project:Video about our project:-we will film parts of the project-we will film different specific dissemination activities-we will create a script for the video: we will choose whether to make it as a serious instructional video, or as a funny one, with more animation, etc.- testimony to the participants about the projectVideo about the European Union and Erasmus +- filming certain parts of our project - even whole sessions- filming of young people standing in front of the camera and saying interesting things about the European Union and Erasmus +"

"<< Objectives >>We want to implement this project because unfortunately the idea of united Europe still does not cover all European countries. Thus, some spacesand areas outside the EU are slightly ""exotic"" for its young citizens, and therefore also slightly less available. What is more, the youth from the other side of the border living outside the EU, due to visa regimes, economic and social differences, unfortunately has difficult contact with their peers from EU countries. Social studies and humanities show that only through interpersonal contacts and direct interactions individuals are able to overcome mutual prejudices and stereotypes. The project has the following objectives:- personal development of young people, development of intercultural competences, overcoming language barriers and acquiring the skills of intercultural cooperation and team work, as well as acquiring the skills of public speaking- to get acquainted with the culture, tradition and history of south-eastern Poland and Transcarpathian Ukraine- familiarization and workshops with the ""oral history"" method allowing to learn about the local micro-history from the perspective of the inhabitants explored as part of the project of the town- to get young people acquainted with the natural and cultural heritage of the Eastern Carpathians in Transcarpathian region- to promote international cooperation and the Erasmus Plus program- to develope creativity and the ability to work with new technologies among young people<< Activities >>The project foresees advanced planning visit and a youth exchange , which will take place on 7 - 16 September 2019 in the city of Użok in Ukraine. Young people from Poland will have two additional days to travel to the resort and return home. The exchange will be attended by representatives, volunteers and beneficiaries of all partner organizations of the project, a total of 24 people. Each partner will play an active role in the implementation of the exchange program, conducting workshops for young people, organizing classes or coordinating specific dissemination activities.<< Impact >>Thanks to the project, the youth will develop new passions and skills, in the future will be more motivated to engage in the social life of their own local communities. By getting to know and mastering the tools of ""oral history"" he will also gain a tool to discover and activate the local identity from their own backgrounds of origin. In addition, the Polish-Ukrainian youth exchange will positively influence the overcoming of the still living mutual prejudices and stereotypes between Poles and Ukrainians. The project will also significantly affect partner organizations, it will be the beginning of further cooperation for the promotion of intercultural dialogue, active lifestyle and the search and maintenance of cultural identity."

"<< Background >>The aim of the project is to improve the quality of education regarding the fight against climate change in universities throughout Eastern, Central and Western Europe. It is well known that CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere are at the highest levels. So, we have an impact not only on human health but the real danger to the environment. Let us take into consideration CO2 emissions per capita in each partner country. In Spain, CO2 emissions per capita are equivalent to 5.4 tons per person, in Romania – 4.0, in Slovakia - 6.5 and in Ukraine - 4.8. Buildings consume an excessive amount of energy and produce too much waste. Their operation is also linked with consumption about 25 % of the world’s water and 40 % of its resources, while creating one-third waste and 40 % of global carbon emissions. Despite these statistics related to buildings unsustainability, buildings have huge untapped potential to become a key part of the solution to urgent sustainability challenges. Promoting energy efficient building is considered as the most successful strategy for CO2 emission reduction and energy saving during the life cycle of the building, while applying for suitable green building products plays an important role in facilitating energy efficient building promotion. New eco-friendly designs of buildings based on the construction of environmentally friendly materials can give improving human health, safety, comfort, and productivity in the current conditions of climate change. Environmentally friendly materials must become part of a sustainable world buildings design because their production and use could offer minimization of the negative environmental impacts. These impacts are representing by climate change, ozone layer depletion, acidification of soil and water, resources exhaustion or human toxicity in connection to indoor and outdoor air pollution. Therefore, it is very important to include sustainability ideas into products, operations, and research and development to apply best technologies, produce materials/products and increase waste construction materials by recycling/reusing them leaving a smaller negative environmental footprint. This situation requires clear steps to be taken to reduce the impact of climate change as a result of human activity. One of the first steps is to increase awareness, knowledge and opportunities to achieve “carbon neutrality”. Therefore, this project aims to create a Hi-EduCarbon educational course aimed at: •Determining the greenhouse gas emissions and removals on the level of product - building materials and building services.•Determining the greenhouse gas emissions and removals on the level of product - structures and building.•Determining the greenhouse gas emissions and removals on the level of organization, neighbourhoods and cities.<< Objectives >>Hi-EduCarbon course targeted for universities, state and public administrations and all private organizations is focused on the current state of ""Carbon neutrality"" in the world; the concepts of environmental audit at industrial enterprises; GHG emissions reducing in heating systems, ventilation and air conditioning; renewable sources of energy; optimal use of natural resources. One of the objectives of this course is to support all cooperated Universities in their internationalisation process. The educational program will help all participants to take decisions to solve complex and interdisciplinary questions by relying on gained knowledge. Through selected actions, they will progress in the program levels, achieving the outcome of a sustainable management and developing different skills and cognitive capacities. The aim of this education is not only to gain knowledge and experience in quantifying greenhouse gas emissions at the level of a product or organization, but especially a holistic view of the possibilities of reducing greenhouse gas emissions at the level of neighbourhoods and cities. Thus, this education will also give the latest information, knowledge, and opportunities to mitigate climate change through green materials, energy, technologies and approaches on specific examples from the countries involved in this project. The project activities, intellectual outputs, project report will be shared on the project website freely. Academic studies to evaluate project results will be carried out and published in high impact journals. Project results and project’s intellectual outputs will be disseminated at the national and international conferences, seminars, workshops. These will make it appeal to a wide audience. Erasmus+ project results platform is an effective international platform and will be used in order to share the project results. Social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Linked-in will be used to reach a wider audience. Online streaming with the involved partners will be done on a regular basis in order to update the followers with the activities in the project. Results of the project are intended to help reduce the impacts of climate change and to be very useful for practice, in the design of buildings, entire urban areas, in the production of various products (construction, machine, textile, …). Therefore, the results will be presented to investors, developers, employees of state and public administration through seminars, workshops, and conferences.<< Implementation >>In the project, five transnational project meetings are planned to be held every six months, including the opening and closing meetings. Participants from each partner country will join in project meetings. The details about the meetings are:•Kick-off meeting: This will be the opening meeting of the project. Kick-off meeting will be organized in Slovakia or online (depending on the COVID situation). Project work plan, task and responsibilities, evaluation and reports periods will be discussed in this meeting. (January 2022)•1st project meeting: This meeting will be held in Spain or online (depending on the COVID situation) and will be the one of the periodical meetings in order to monitor and evaluate the project activities and discuss the course of the project. (September 2022)•2nd project meeting: This meeting will be held in Romania or online (depending on the COVID situation) and will be the one of the periodical meetings in order to monitor and evaluate the project activities and discuss the course of the project. (March 2023)•3th project meeting: This meeting will be held in Ukraine or online (depending on the COVID situation) and will be the one of the periodical meetings in order to monitor and evaluate the project activities and discuss the course of the project. (October 2023)•Final Meeting (Closing Meeting): This meeting will be the closing meeting of the project and held in lead partner’s country, Slovakia or online (depending on the COVID situation). (June 2024).During the project period, three main activities will be carried out to determine the greenhouse gas emissions and removals, with the first activity focusing on building materials and building services; second one on the structures and whole buildings and the third activity on the organizations, neighbourhoods and cities. Each training will be provided by experts involved in the project on a given topic from each participating university. The training will be provided by employees at universities, state and public administration, architects and other professionals who want to raise awareness in general in the field of creating a carbon-neutral environment and gain experience in determining greenhouse gas emissions for construction and other products and services. The training course (1 activity) will run for three days, 8 hours a day. Two days will focus on theoretical knowledge, current state of knowledge, legislative and normative regulations and requirements. The third day will be devoted to the practical calculation of greenhouse gas emissions for the selected product. The aim and result of the activity is to acquire knowledge and skills in determining greenhouse gas emissions.<< Results >>The project activities, intellectual outputs, project report will be shared on the project website freely. Academic studies to evaluate project results will be carried out and published in high impact journals. Project results and project’s intellectual outputs will be disseminated at the national and international conferences, seminars, workshops. These will make it appeal to a wide audience.
