The aim of the participation itself was that the students and staff of UWB had the opportunity to gain not only international experience but also to develop communication skills with international exchange students and teachers attending UWB. The internationalization of high schools and universities plays now the key role in the long-term strategic goal not only at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (UWB) but overall emphasis is put on this issue throughout the tertiary level of education worldwide. Participation in this project is the way how to fulfill this strategic goal. This project gave the opportunity to the students and also employees of UWB to know the conditions and rules at the foreign universities and companies. In addition, the project allowed us to reach, helpand advise underpriviledged students, who would not be able to study abroad, and give them higher scholarship for their exchange. This project was fulfilled in accordance with the submitted project application and general rules of Erasmus+ programme.Hence, the participating students are more likely to become globally succesful in the fields of science and industry. This project allowed us to became acquainted with other educational systems, quality and study models and funding mechanisms of other succesful universities. By participating in the project, the University of West Bohemia has achieved improvements in the process of integrating student mobility to their study programme, and teacher/ staff mobility to their professional career. The main aim was to eliminate unnecesary barriers in the procedure of the recognition of credits earned abroad and generally simplify this process at all faculties. These activities positively impacted on the whole organization and processes concerning sending and receiving students, staff and researches to and from our partner institutions. The participation in the project allowed us to target better spending and fund acquiring activities, as well as to tailor the project to fit the specific needs of our institution. Furthermore, it provided us with tools to develop incentives and to support strategic choice of science and research diversity within the university research centres. In addition to that, it helped us to gain the autonomy needed to set the academic and research direction, as well as modernise our human resource management. We would really appreciate the opportunity to continue in the following project period.Four activities for student and employees were realized in this project - total 382 mobilities.Student mobility for Studies: 203 students per academic year.Student mobiliy for Traineeships: 60 students.Staff mobility for Teaching: 57 teachers.Staff mobility for Training: 62 employees.

The roadmap of the European Materials Modelling Council has identified a strong need in European industries for materials modelling, especially on the atomic, molecular and quantum level. A key bottleneck is the lack of scientists that can translate industrial problems into modelling strategies, to carry out simulations with the right tools, or to derive results of practical engineering value. EUSpecLab addresses this problem by training a new generation of innovative material scientists that will bridge the gap between industrial processes and theoretical understanding, and leverage novel informatics tools in artificial intelligence. EUSpecLab will train students in the theory, development and application of computer codes for the modelling of cutting-edge spectroscopies. Examples are the time and spin-resolved spectroscopies at the forefront of fundamental research in the characterization and designing of the new materials that will shape the future of our society. The results will be exploited using machine learning, to leverage first principles results and explore vast classes of materials. To provide beyond state-of-the-art training, EUSpecLab gathers the expertise of scientists in quantum physics/chemistry, in theory/ modelling and experimental methods, in computer science and artificial intelligence, in atomic and spin/time structure, working in academic laboratories and in companies involved in the making and modelling of materials. The students will become fluent with high-level programming, able to develop innovative computational approaches and software. With the involvement of the software or applied research companies, the Researchers will be exposed to the process of transforming research programs into professionally supported simulation platforms with applications to industrial problems.

During the period of the project Volunteering in preschooling education 2017 have been realised three educational volunteering mobilities. Aim of the project was to support the education process of children, the development of friendships between Czech and German people and reduction of prejudices which can appear regularly in a multicultural environment. Both hosting organisations besides other things are focused on the development of the second language from an early age of the children. The volunteer Julia Schmidt worked during September 1st, 2017 until August 31th, 2018 in the Pilsner Czech-German kindergarden Junikorn, volunteer Frederike Moos realised her volunteering service from October 1st, 2017 until September 30th, 2018 in the Czech-German kindergarden KIDS Company in Prague, same as volunteer Georgina Grond, who was in KIDS Company from July 1st, 2018 until April 30th, 2019. The volunteers have been actively involved into the team of the hosting organisations, under the supervision of pedagogical employees they realised planned tasks and gained many competences. KIDS company took part in the volunteering project for the first time.

The aim of the project is to realize three European voluntary services of 12 months in two organizations working in Czech-German cooperation, international youth work and intercultural education. The project should in the long term view strengthen Czech-German relations and expand existing cooperation activities. Two Czech and one German volunteers will one year work in the Coordination Centres of Czech-German Youth Exchange in Pilsen and Regensburg on a Czech-German web portal for youth and the preparation of three-day training seminars for youth from Czech Republic and Germany.
