    ESTA aims to improve the quality of Higher Education professional development of university science teacher educators staff towards teaching diverse sensitive methods in their courses. Thus, courses on diversity sensitive science teaching will be implemented in Georgia, the Philippines, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Starting from the needs analysis linguistic and cultural diversity is major focus here. In phase one, preparation will be done by Academic Staff Tour of Partner institutions in Program Countries. Second phase is development of courses following Action Research and CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) approach, their implementation and evaluation. Innovative here is the interdisciplinary development of the courses, where educators from science disciplines develop their teaching methods cooperatively with educators from language, general pedagogy and intercultural education departments. Thus, different competences and skills will be combined. Both pre- and in-service teachers should be reached by the courses and the knowledge and skills about diversity science teaching should be shared. Following new teaching and learning materials for diverse science classes will be developed and implemented. This aims improving learning outcomes. Developed courses will be implemented at the partner institutions and promoted at the regional and national level among decision makers and policy makers. All new teaching and learning as well training materials will be offered at the ESTA website in the meaning of OER and will be evaluable not only to the participants of the courses but also to other interested pre- and in-service science teachers. Thus, possibilities of internationalization and networking is given.

    As stated in the application, the ARTIST project sees science and technology in the heart of every modern society and highly relevant for the sustainable development of our future. Based on this assumption, the ARTIST consortium described the need for responsible investment in science and engineering for raising wealth and development of the present and future of any modern society. It was also acknowledged that all modern societies need a substantial part of the young generation to be interested, motivated and well prepared to embark in careers in science and engineering. The project Action Research to Innovate Science Teaching & Career Orientation (ARTIST) contributed to these goals by helping develop innovations in science education and for career orientation among the young generation in the participating countries. This was done by investing in the skills of science teachers and teacher educators concerning evidence-based innovation of science teaching and promotion of career orientation by action research and self-study. ARTIST helped improving science education by promoting teacher skills in doing action research and related small-scale innovation studies in their science classrooms supported by HEIs across Europe and Asia. Teacher education activities and corresponding materials were developed and applied in teacher education courses to enable teachers and teacher educators to innovate science teaching based on self-generated evidence. These materials are available in all relevant languages in the participating countries, namely a guidebook with theoretical resources, practical activities and illustrative cases and a PPT toolkit to be used in action research seminars. Case studies for innovations in science teaching were conducted, documented and exchanged across the ARTIST consortium and published via the ARTIST website. ARTIST centres were founded to act in the future as contact points and providers of competence to support teachers and schools in their ongoing process of educational reform and innovation. ARTIST networks were founded comprising HEIs, schools and business partners to support the process of curriculum innovation and career orientation. The networks were established to support teachers and schools in these processes via supportive materials on the ARTIST website and available competence in the ARTIST centres. A new journal was founded in 2018 as a place to publish and exchange innovations in science education, namely the journal Action Research and Innovation in Science Education (ARISE). The journal now completed its second volume and will be continued after the funding period.

    "ANTENA is a structural project that aims to increase the academic quality and research of universities in the Philippines through the development of internationalisation capacities. The ANTENA project will first of all consolidate the Internationalisation structure and build human capacities of 10 HEIs by means of targeted training programmes. Secondly ANTENA will accompany the governance reforms of CHED and enhance international networking through strategic actions in key areas of the Philippine higher education system.The ANTENA project will achieve the above-mentioned objectives by: 1. Increased inter-institutional cooperation and sharing of good practices via the needs analysis and Institutional Building: 1 Study Need Analysis of Internationalisation produced, 2 site visits to UA&UM workshops for Top and Managerial staff implemented and 10 IROs fully equip and ruining;2. Strengthening of Internationalisation of higher education system through the promotion of HEIs governance reforms. 2 National Round tables carried out (One by CHED), Internationalisation Strategic Plans developed for 10 HEIs in the Philippines and the drafting of a ""Policy Roadmap for the implementation of strategies on the Internationalisation of Philippines HE"" under the leadership of the Ministry-CHED;3. Enhancement of managerial and administrative staff capacities in dealing with internationalisation issues: set of 6 comprehensive training materials developed and 2 training completed. 20 replication workshops conducted and ready to be implemented by non-partners HEIs in the Philippines;4. Establishment of a National Network and conducting 2 Philippines Internationalisation of Higher Education Conferences, and promoting the participation of the ANTENA Network in higher education international events;5. Increase public awareness and understanding of Internationalisation within higher education institutions."

    Progress in early warning to tackle the threat posed by increasing coastal hazards is uneven across Asia, with some high-risk, low-capacity countries falling behind. Many countries are calling for regional multi-hazard early warning (MHEW) systems as an effective means of sharing scientific knowledge and applications, sharing costs and addressing trans-boundary disasters.CABARET aimed to promote international cooperation at the regional level, between Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) in Asia and Europe, and among Asian HEIs themselves, to improve MHEW and increase resilience among coastal communities. CABARET brought together a partnership of fifteen HEIs from ten countries in Europe and Asia, in cooperation with the IOC-UNESCO Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning System (IOTWMS) and the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center. Five selected partner countries in Asia – Indonesia, Maldives, Myanmar, Philippines and Sri Lanka – were the target for capacity building and included communities that are highly exposed and vulnerable to the threat posed by multiple coastal hazards. CABARET has achieved the goals by: Identifying intra and inter regional cooperation capacity needs across partner country HEIs for the development of more effective MHEW; Creating an innovation hub for resilient coastal communities, promoting scientific cooperation and knowledge transfer in Higher Education within Asia, and between Asia and Europe on MHEW; Developing a capacity building roadmap to address regional gaps and priorities; Exploring, promoting and initiating opportunities for fruitful university partnerships with socio-economic actors in coastal communities; Developing innovative multi-disciplinary training courses tailored for rapid skill (knowledge, qualifications,) acquisition for professional teams involved in multi-hazard early warning at the national and regional level; Publicising the capacity building progress, successes and outcomes as far as possible, and raising awareness across the field of HE about capacity building for MHEW and increased disaster resilience in coastal communities.Collectively, the partnership:•Organised 6 international meetings and four multi-disciplinary, capacity building workshops involving 319 participants•Supported a regional survey of tsunami capacity among twenty countries, in cooperation with the IOC-UNESCO IOTWMS•Published five national position papers and a regional position paper on MHEW preparedness•Published over fifty multi-institution, international and multi-disciplinary research papers on tsunami and multi-hazard early warning, and coastal resilience•Facilitated seven EU-ASIA and ASIA-ASIA exchanges involving thirty-five people from HEIs•Formed seven special interest groups that facilitated fourteen capacity building activities and provided a platform for further cooperation •Held a mentoring programme for early career researchers and developed six open educational resources on multi-hazard early warning•Organised special sessions on tsunami and multi-hazard early warning in six international conferences and events•Secured four externally funded spin-off projects and submitted numerous research proposalsThese activities have changed the understanding, awareness and attitudes among national and subnational actors on the critical areas of capacity for effective end to end tsunami early warning. CABARET has helped to enhance regional and trans-boundary cooperation for MHEW, and empower individuals and organisations with the skills, competencies and credentials needed to promote and sustain regional cooperation within Asia and Europe, and within Asia itself, aimed at reducing the likelihood and impact of disasters in coastal communities.
