MUTE’s main objective is to investigate for the first time empirically and theoretically the use of music and sound in situations of confinement and displacement from the Cold War to contemporary times. It explores their weaponization in light of transnational developments in technologies of terror. At the same time, it carefully attends to how music/sound can become a tool of survival, even in the same setting in which they are weaponized. Also explored are ethical challenges of such research, and of music programmes for prisoners and refugees, highlighting their shortcomings and providing alternative models. MUTE innovates through a theoretical framework that investigates the interlocking of politics, ethics, and aesthetics, focusing on the ethics of sound and ethics of witnessing. Its comparative approach extends to (post)colonial Cyprus, Greece, Serbia, Germany, Soviet Union and contemporary Russia, Iraq, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay. MUTE will critically analyse this complex phenomenon across the disciplines of (ethno)musicology, social anthropology, history, critical theory, human rights law and sound art, since it cannot be fully grasped through the methods of any one alone. The PI’s extensive immersion into all disciplinary components over the last decade, evident in her novel approach, ensures the successful implementation of research objectives. MUTE’s findings and results will transform scientific discourse, changing current perceptions about music’s social function. This historical recovery is important in revisiting and assessing detention-related policies and current definitions of torture. Given recent mass asylum seeking in Europe and the growing number of music research projects with refugees, it will offer the needed ethical, methodological and theoretical foundations for present and future research, ensuring the well-being of participants and researchers, research excellence, and critically nuanced scholarship.

Κατά το ακαδημαϊκό έτος 2018-2019 μετακινήθηκαν μέσω του Προγράμματος 43 φοιτητές της ΑΣΚΤ, εκ των οποίων οι 26 ήταν φοιτητές του τμήματος Εικαστικών Τεχνών ενώ οι 17 του τμήματος Θεωρίας και Ιστορίας της Τέχνης. Οι μετακινούμενοι για σπουδές ανήλθαν στους 37 ενώ οι υπόλοιποι μετακινήθηκαν στα πλαίσια της πρακτικής άσκησης. Από το σύνολο των μετακινούμενων φοιτητών οι 36 ήταν γυναίκες και οι 7 άντρες. Η διαδικασία υποβολής αίτησης, μετά από γενική ενημέρωση του αρμόδιου Τμήματος, διήρκεσε από τον Δεκέμβριο του 2017 έως τον Φεβρουάριο του 2018, ενώ κριτήρια επιλογής τους ήταν η επίδοση του φοιτητή, η γνώση της ξένης γλώσσας (κυρίως της γλώσσας εργασίας του ξένου Ιδρύματος), και το έτος σπουδών τους. Κατά την ενημέρωση και διαδικασία επιλογής αναφέρθηκε ρητά από το γραφείο μας πως τα άτομα με ειδικές ανάγκες είχαν προτεραιότητα σε περίπτωση ισοβαθμίας, επίσης έγινε αναφορά στις ειδικές περιπτώσεις που ισχύουν για τις ευπαθείς κοινωνικά ομάδες. Τα τελευταία έτη παρεμπιπτόντως παρατηρείται μία αύξηση στον αριθμό μετακινούμενων ατόμων με ειδικά κοινωνικά κριτήρια, το οποίο δεν είναι πάντα εφικτό να υπολογίζεται από την αρχή κι έτσι προκύπτουν καθυστερήσεις στις αποφάσεις για την έγκριση παρατάσεων όσων μετακινούνται το χειμερινό εξάμηνο. Η τελική επιλογή των φοιτητών έγινε από τις αρμόδιες ακαδημαϊκές αρχές της ΑΣΚΤ, βάσει των κριτηρίων συμμετοχής, όπως αυτά τέθηκαν μετά από συνεδρίασης της Επιτροπής Erasmus+ της ΑΣΚΤ και με γνώμονα την αρχή της διαφάνειας, ενώ διευκρινίζεται πως όλοι οι φοιτητές που επιλέχθηκαν να μετακινηθούν, ανεξαρτήτως φύλου, φοίτησαν σε μία εκ των δύο επιλογών τους. Επιθυμώντας να προάγουμε το πρόγραμμα, και να μην στερούμε από κανέναν υποψήφιο τη δυνατότητα μετακίνησης – δεδομένου βέβαια ότι πληρούνται οι προϋποθέσεις – το γραφείο Erasmus φρόντισε να τηρήσει λίστα αναμονής με όλους τους υποψήφιους, διότι σε αρκετές περιπτώσεις σημειώνονται εκ των υστέρων ακυρώσεις από τους συμμετέχοντες για προσωπικούς λόγους, ή κάποιοι από τους υποψηφίους λαμβάνουν αρνητικές απαντήσεις από τους Εταίρους, με αποτέλεσμα να μην μπορούν να συμμετάσχουν ξανά λόγω του ότι χάνονται οι προθεσμίες υποβολής των υποψηφιοτήτων. Μετά την παραλαβή των σχετικών βεβαιώσεων ή ηλεκτρονικών μηνυμάτων αποδοχής από τα ξένα Ιδρύματα, οι φοιτητές συμπλήρωσαν τις συμφωνίες σπουδών και τις συμβάσεις επιχορήγησης. Λόγω βέβαια της ιδιαιτερότητας του αντικειμένου σπουδών του Τμήματος Εικαστικών Τεχνών, υπήρξαν και περιπτώσεις όπου οι φοιτητές αναγκάστηκαν να κάνουν αλλαγές στα επιλεγόμενα μαθήματα εντός του διαστήματος του πρώτου μήνα της μετακίνησης, διότι δεν ήταν δυνατό να έχουν σαφή εικόνα του προγράμματος σπουδών πριν την έναρξη της μετακίνησης. Ευτυχώς, το γραφείο Erasmus της Σχολής μας διατηρεί άριστες σχέσεις με τους ομολόγους των αντίστοιχων γραφείων των Εταίρων που προτιμούνται περισσότερο από τους μετακινούμενους, έτσι πολλές φορές λύνονται τυχόν προβλήματα που προκύπτουν σε ότι αφορά την επιλογή των μαθημάτων. Σχετικά με τα OLS, οι μετακινούμενοι συμμετείχαν όλοι στην πρώτη εξέταση, και σχεδόν όλοι πήραν άδεια χρήσης του προγράμματος, εκτός από εκείνους που σημείωσαν υψηλό αποτέλεσμα στην εξέταση. Ο Χάρτης Φοιτητή Erasmus διανεμήθηκε σε όλους τους εξερχόμενους φοιτητές πριν την αναχώρησή τους για το εξωτερικό. Σε ότι αφορά το ακαδημαϊκό έτος 2018-2019, ο αριθμός των εισερχομένων φοιτητών αυξήθηκε από 64 σε 67. Επιπλέον, λόγω περιορισμένων θέσεων σε αρκετά από τα εργαστήρια, η επιτροπή επιλογής έπρεπε να προβεί σε αυστηρή επιλογή των εγγράφων των υποψηφίων και να περιορίσει τον αριθμό. Τέλος, σε ότι αφορά τον αριθμό των εισερχόμενων καθηγητών και διοικητικών για πρακτική άσκηση, αυτός ανήλθε στους 28. Προκειμένου να εξασφαλιστεί η μέγιστη δυνατή διάδοση και η αξιοποίηση των αποτελεσμάτων, καθ' όλη τη διάρκεια της χρονιάς σημειώθηκαν ενημερωτικές συνεδρίες, εργαστήρια και εκθέσεις εικαστικών της Α.Σ.Κ.Τ στις οποίες συμμετείχαν Έλληνες και ξένοι φοιτητές, ενώ ενημερώθηκε το ευρύ κοινό με δελτία Τύπου ή μέσω ηλεκτρονικών μηνυμάτων. Oι εισερχόμενοι φοιτητές Erasmus+ είχαν τη δυνατότητα να συμμετάσχουν σε πολυάριθμα workshops που διοργανώθηκαν είτε από την ΑΣΚΤ είτε από κοινού με συνεργαζόμενα ευρωπαϊκά πανεπιστήμια, στους επτά (7) Καλλιτεχνικούς Σταθμούς που διαθέτει η Σχολή ανά την Ελλάδα και αποτελούν σημείο συνάντησης και αλληλεπίδρασης επιστημόνων και καλλιτεχνών από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό για την ανταλλαγή απόψεων, στοχασμών και την προαγωγή της καλλιτεχνικής και εκπαιδευτικής έρευνας. Οι εισερχόμενοι φοιτητές του εν λόγω έτους αποδείχτηκαν ιδιαίτερα ενεργοί, εκτός από τη συμμετοχή τους και την αλληλεπίδρασή τους με τους Έλληνες φοιτητές καθ' όλη τη διάρκεια της χρονιάς, έφτιαξαν ομάδα στο Facebook (“Asfa Erasmus Students League”) ώστε να συνομιλούν αλλά και να επικοινωνούν με το γραφείο Erasmus της ΑΣΚΤ και έστησαν μια ολόκληρη έκθεση με τίτλο Communitism σε γνωστό εκθεσιακό χώρο του κέντρου.

The main purpose of the project is to create internship opportunities for students in enterprises / organizations abroad in order to gain valuable work experience and broaden their business horizons. The main activity which will take place will be students' mobility for internships.The administration of the Programme and the procedures followed are reflected in the quality manual (ISO) and comply with the principles laid down in it. This project ensures high quality mobility with maximum impact on students while the mobility meets the learning needs and personal development of students associated with each diploma. In most cases, internships are embedded into the student curriculum. Students on their own have to investigate and find the host institution , to ensure their acceptance for the period of their placement interest . This happens not only for practical reasons, but also because this is useful and contributes to the students socialization and the acquisition of communication skills.University of West Attica consortium consists of the following Institutions: Agricultural University of Athens, University of Peloponnese, School of Pedagogical and Technological Education, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Ionian University, University of Applied Sciences of Thessaly, University of Western Macedonia, Higher School of Tourism Education of Crete, University of Applied Sciences of Central Greece, Athens School of Fine Arts.University of West Attica is the Coordinator of the Consortium through the Institutional Coordinator of the ERASMUS+ Programme and the Department of International Academic Issues & Student’s Exchange. The procedures are reflected in the quality manual (ISO) and have the maximum information dissemination. The Steering Committee consisting of the Institutional Coordinator of the ERASMUS+ Programme, the Head of the Department of International Academic Issues & Student’s Exchange and representatives from all partner institutions, has the overall responsibility for the coordination. The Steering Committee established on 14th December 2016, when the first meeting was held, with important results for the project.The financial administration of the project is implemented by Special Account for Research Finance, who holds managerial capacity to implement the financial scope and adequacy in order to conduct procurement tenders and contracts, development and physical object implementation monitoring, operating IT and Legal Service.The objectives of the Consortium coincide with the results and the impact (long-term benefits ) of the project and these canbe summarized as follows :- Improved learning outcomes- Improved employability- Increased sense of initiative- Increased personal empowerment and self-esteem- improved skills in foreign languages- Improved intercultural awareness- More active participation in society- Support to people who belong to vulnerable population groups- Absorb the greatest possible number of beneficiaries - students, through their their placement in foreign companies- The achievement of maximum interdisciplinary, the selection of students from various scientific fieldsThe creation of academic networks and universities and enterprise networks have multiple added value for the institutions involved, relative to the benefits that they had if they developed individual actions. The impact for the parties involved is huge since a large ""pool"" of productive entities is created from which universities can draw valuable information for the redefinition of educational and research guidelines. On the other hand, companies can choose from a wide variety of disciplines, human capital and services which strengthen their innovative and competitive character globally."

The project’s aim was to come close the two oldest Academies of Art in Greece and Russia for the first time in their history. As a start was programmed the interaction on their common cultural ground of their byzantine past which is expressed on the field of icon and monumental painting through a research of educational treatment on the subject nowadays. On the other hand, it is a fundamental objective for ASFA to enrich its experience by the renowned continuity of academic painting and also the subject of Conservation of Works of Art in Repin Academy by exploring the curriculum on these fields in educational practice. Two members of ASFA’s teaching staff in painting were moved for 5 days in Saint Petersburg Academy, followed in vivo the educational practice in academic painting in the Studios of Repin Academy and discussed relevant issues with its teaching staff. An undergraduate ASFA’s student followed for one semester the lessons and laboratories in Conservation of Works of Art in Repin Academy. The programmed mobility of the Russian Student to follow the ASFA’s Studio of Icon and Mural Painting was canceled due to Covid 19 pandemic. The impact of ASFA’s mobility in Repin Academy had the importance to realize the structure of studies in academic painting which has to do with the different needs in contemporary Art in both countries, and the importance of modern technology in Conservation of Works of Art and how it reflects on educational process in the educational structure of a modern artist, theme that inspired ASFA to include in its curriculum the subject of Art Material Science.
