Model International Criminal Court (MICC) is an innovative approach in human rights education. The project proposed by five partner organizations from Germany, Lebanon, Poland, Tunisia and Turkey encompasses a youth meeting of 60 youth (aged between 15 and 20) and a training for youth workers. During the training course in Trebnitz the youth workers have the possibility, to learn in depth about the method MICC and to exchange good practice in human rights education with youth. After the training they can apply the new method in the youth meeting. During six days of the youth meeting that will take place in Krzyzowa (PL), the young participants are taking over the roles of prosecutors, defenders, judges and journalists and will deal with historical cases that had been heard before international tribunals (Nuremberg trials, ICTY and ICTR). The language of communication is English. With the help of the project MICC, the young participants are going to approach problems related to the protection of Human Rights, the basic concept of justice and the rule of law. MICC encourages young people to learn about Human Rights and their implementation within the frame of international criminal law. At the same time they are familiarizing themselves with domestic affairs of justice. Participants learn to raise awareness in their daily life and to understand themselves as part of an active European citizenship. It raises the European consciousness of the young participants as well as it underlines the achievements of a democratic and peaceful European confederation. Our participants will be strengthen in order to stand up for maintaining democratic principles. Through critical reflection and exchange, the young participants will learn to understand and accept different point of views. With its multinational character and teamwork, the MICC lays the foundation for intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding between participants with different nationalities and cultures. In addition the MICC encourages to continue the international cooperation among all partner organizations. The mobility of young people and youth workers will be promoted. The project partners will contribute to an intercultural dialogue. With the help of the mutual project, a sustainable international network shall be created. It will serve as a foundation for the exchange of knowledge and methods in the field of non-formal education and will lead to a lasting discussion about topics and research connected to Human Rights and the ICC. A short movie created by the pressteam and a manual about the MICC methods (OER) for the youth workers, will both support a wide range of dissemination of project results and inform about contents of the project.

Energy problems play an important role in the global development of industrial and underdeveloped countries. Energy issues are usually accompanied with the challenging trade off of energy production and environmental sustainability. Recently, an offshore reserve of Oil and Gas was localized in the Mediterranean Sea near the Lebanese coast. The Lebanese Government set up a new “Gas and Oil Committee” belonging to the Water and Energy Ministry. The goal of this Committee is to publish tenders for Gas and Oil Offshore inspection and exploitation. An increasing demand for Engineers in the field of new reservoir drilling and fuel raw material processing is expected in the upcoming twenty-five years. The Lebanese Higher Education sector is a well-developed one. This sector regroups one public University which is the Lebanese University and more than 50 private universities. All the Lebanese universities’ curricula are one step behind in the field of Gas and Oil processing. This is due to the fact that the country is not a producer of this kind of raw material. Two refineries were present in the country before the civil war (1975-1989). Those refineries were completely destroyed during the civil war and their actual role has been reduced to the imported fuel storage. This project will address all the above problems by setting up a new teaching curriculum at the Lebanese universities by a joint effort with the European universities members of the Consortium. This project will also help in creating a network of Lebanese and European universities promoting academic excellence through joint research, education, and exchange of experience. This will contribute in the sustainable development of the Lebanese higher educational system and in improving the career prospects of scholars in their home countries. This new curriculum will allow forming engineers who can produce and manage innovation in the chemical, Gas and Oil processing, environmental, and new materials sectors.

Road traffic accidents are a growing health, social and economic problem in the partner countries Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon. Whereas EU countries, steadily and systematically reduced the numbers and severity of road accidents last decades, by implementing modern solutions and applications, the problems continue to grow in EG-JO-LB. Much of this existing knowledge, practices and know-how in EU can be transferred and implemented in partner countries. The overall aim of the project is to design, develop, adapt and implement a new MS.c curriculum in the field of Road Traffic Safety within joint efforts between EU-EG-JO-LB partner Universities according to Bologna requirements and EU traffic safety standards and best practices. The developed curriculum will be based on a market analysis and job demands for graduate engineers in EG-JO-LB. The curriculum will be tailored to the problems, needs and traffic characteristics in EG-JO-LB. This curriculum will be supported with several innovative elements e.g.:- The EU-MENA Network in Traffic Safety for sharing best practices and know-how between universities and stakeholders.- The EU-EG-JO-LB traffic accidents database for benchmarking and analysis.- The EU-EG-JO-LB handbook of best practices in traffic accidents.- The EU-EG-JO-LB handbook of traffic accidents standards. This curriculum will be also supported with ICT supported platforms e.g. OpenCourseWare for sharing teaching and learning material, Webinar online meetings, etc.The project will be structured into 4 phases:1. Current curriculum analysis (from Month 1 to Month 6).2. Development of the new curriculum and innovative elements (from M7 to M24).3. Realisation of the new curriculum (from M19 to M24).4. Implementation and evaluation (from M25 to M36).This curriculum, supported material and gained skills will contribute positively on economy and society development in partner country by making road traffic in MENA region safer and sustainable.

"Recently, artificial intelligence and robotics (AIR) have been making huge advances enabling them to enter new applications, constituting disruptive forces to various aspects of our lives. Developing countries such as Jordan and Lebanon suffer from slowing economies and high unemployment rates. These problems will worsen as AIR technologies succeed in automating more jobs and shifting production and jobs to the countries that employ these technologies to efficiently offer better services and products. Therefore, it is essential for all countries to engage in using and developing these technologies to create new businesses, improve existing products and services, and foster human prosperity. The consortium of this proposal is taking the initiative of ""Developing Curricula for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (DeCAIR)""; a project that intends to develop curricula in the areas of AIR through new master's and bachelor programs. These programs will give students opportunities to specialize in AI technologies, Robotics technologies, or using AI solutions to develop smart and autonomous robots that can solve unconventional problems. Additionally, DeCAIR will improve the curricula of existing masters and bachelor programs in the areas of AIR, establish relevant modern laboratories, and implement modern teaching methods such as flipped learning and project-based learning. All this will improve the graduates' practical skills and enable them to exploit these revolutionary technologies to solve local and regional problems, create new jobs, and to start new ventures.Other project aims are to improve the teaching capacity at universities of the Partner Countries, build a network of highly qualified professionals in these areas among partner universities, and improve collaboration with local and regional industries and community for applying AIR technologies in solving industry and community problems."
