The primary goal of this study is to use the state-of-the-art methods to study the changes of engineered nanomaterials (ENMs) during water and wastewater treatment and to evaluate how these changes will affect ENMs fate, toxicity and interaction with other contaminants. It is assumed that the major part of ENMs gets into the environment with wastewater. It is interesting though to study how different conditions of water and wastewater treatment will affect ENMs properties. It is very important because of the changes in the physicochemical properties of ENMs caused by these processes may affect the mobility, toxicity and bioaccumulation of ENMs. Moreover, interaction between ENMs and other contaminants may affect their fate in the environment. These results may completely change our approach related to environmental risks associated with ENMs. In addition, the results may open a new area of research focused on realistic scenario. The achievement of these goals requires an inter- and multidisciplinary approach including environmental nanotechnology and chemistry, ecotoxicology, physics, material chemistry and engineering. These goals will be achieved through the implementation of research in one of the most advanced environmental nanotechnology lab in the world. During the outgoing phase I will be trained in new and powerful research techniques from laboratory experiments, physical and chemical analysis and field mesocosm experiment. During the return phase both groups will establish a collaboration, share theoretical and experimental expertise, and possibly initiate a long-term student exchange program. Beside of resolving very important environmental scientific issue, this fellowship will give me the opportunity to work with experts, will create a network of international collaborators, and will co-lead a 3-year long project with increased responsibilities in its conception, design, implementation, administration, and dissemination.

Projekt Programu Erasmus+ AK103 mobilność edukacyjna realizowany w roku akademickim 2018/19 był jednym z głównych sposobów realizacji strategii umiędzynarodowienia na Uniwersytecie Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej. W projekcie realizowano wymianę studentów i pracowników z uczelniami z krajów programu oraz wyjazdy studentów na praktyki zawodowe do krajów programu. Celem działań realizowanych przez uczelnię było zwiększenie poziomu umiędzynarodowienia Uczelni oraz jakości kształcenia zgodnie ze Strategią Rozwoju Uczelni. Projekt pozwolił zrealizować ten cel poprzez zwiększenie międzynarodowej mobilności edukacyjnej studentów i pracowników Uczelni zgodnie z zasadami Karty Erasmusa dla szkolnictwa wyższego w ramach wyjazdów do krajów programu.Zarządzaniem jakością mobilności uczestników zajmowało się Biuro Programu Erasmus (3 osoby) oraz sieć koordynatorów wydziałowych na Uczelni. Zespół ten gwarantował prawidłowe wykonanie działań i osiągnięcie oczekiwanych rezultatów jakościowych i ilościowych. Główne cele jakościowe i ilościowe projektu zostały osiągnięte. Realizacja wymian odbywała się na podstawie porozumień programu Erasmus+ mobilność edukacyjna z partnerami w krajach programu.Cele ilościowe zrealizowano w 90%, przy czym spadek mobilności odnotowano głównie w liczbie mobilności na praktyki zawodowe.Zrealizowano łącznie 205 mobilności w tym 115 wyjazdów studentów na studia, 38 wyjazdy studentów na praktyki zagraniczne, w tym 16 to wyjazdy wczesnych absolwentów, 44 wyjazdy nauczycieli akademickich i 8 wyjazdów innych pracowników uczelni na szkolenia. Wszyscy uczestnicy otrzymali wsparcie finansowe na zrealizowanie swoich mobilności, w tym 165 uczestników z funduszy Programu Erasmus+, a 41 uczestników z funduszy Programu PO WER. Uczestnicy: W projekcie brali udział studenci Uczelni, w tym studenci cudzoziemcy oraz pracownicy– nauczyciele akademiccy, w tym także nauczyciele cudzoziemcy oraz pracownicy jednostek administracyjnych Uczelni.Proporcja udziału kobiet do liczby mężczyzn we wszystkich mobilnościach wyjazdowych wynosi 4 do 1 (w mobilnościach studenckich to: 81% do 19%, a w pracowniczych 2 do 1 (67% do 33%), co odpowiada ogólnym proporcjom spotykanym w Uczelni. W procesie organizacyjnym mobilności Uczelnia stosowała ogólne zasady dotyczące jakości mobilności Programu Erasmus+ oraz PO WER oraz przyjęte zasady szczegółowe dotyczące procedur kwalifikacji, finansowania i rozliczania wyjazdów. Uczelnia nie dyskryminowała kandydatów ze względu na obywatelstwo, płeć, wiek i kierowała się zasadą równego dostępu do informacji oraz równego traktowania uczestników.Do Uczelni przyjechało 119 studentów zagranicznych na studia częściowe (5% wzrost w stosunku do roku poprzedniego) oraz 26 pracowników uczelni partnerskich na krótkie pobyty w celu prowadzenia zajęć i szkoleniowym. Rezultaty: Projekt pozwolił uczelni realizować swoją strategię rozwoju, w tym strategię umiędzynarodowienia uczelni poprzez zwiększenie atrakcyjności programów studiów, umożliwienie rozwijania tych programów o częściowe studia za granicą i podnoszenie umiejętności zawodowej swoich pracowników. Jednocześnie umożliwił studentom i pracownikom uczelni podnoszenie znajomości języków obcych, co zwiększyło jakość nauczania i poziom wykształcenia uzyskiwanego przez studentów Uczelni. Wszyscy uczestnicy złożyli ankiety ze swoich mobilności. Uczelnia jest ważnym partnerem dla władz miasta i województwa w rozmaitych działaniach i inicjatywach edukacyjnych i gospodarczych. Program wymian Erasmus wzmacnia w perspektywie długoterminowej możliwości Uczelni pozyskiwania studentów zagranicznych, w tym także na studia płatne w języku polskim i w języku angielskim. Uczelnia utrzymuje wysoką pozycję w krajowych rankingach dotyczących liczby studentów zagranicznych.Rezultaty mobilności Programu Erasmus+ upowszechniano przede wszystkim w działaniach przygotowujących nowe formy współpracy międzynarodowej, a także podczas konferencji naukowych, regionalnych, w materiałach promocyjnych Uczelni oraz rozmaitych ankietach i sprawozdaniach.

The Erasmus + KA107 project was designed to support student and staff mobilities among 12 universities from 8 different countries including PL LUBLIN01 - the Maria Curie-Sklodowska University as the coordinating institution and 3 universities from Taiwan, 2 universities from Brazil, 2 universities from Ukraine, 1 university from Moldova, 1 university from Georgia, 1 university from Russia and 1 university from the USA as those from Programme partner countries. The partners exchanged 25 student and staff mobilities. All the participating institutions intended to attain their development strategy objectives and their main target to internationalise the universities’ operations in education, research and administration. The collaboration between the coordinator and the partner universities was good and effective at all the stages of the project development: information, documentation management, recruitment and selection, participant monitoring, learning outcomes recognition, result dissemination. The cases raising difficulties in organisation were solved by additional instruction or actions agreed upon among the coordinator and the partners. The partners received the necessary documentation and explanations to their queries, which helped them apply the Programme requirements regarding the quality of the planned mobilities. The mobility organisation funds were shared with the partner universities abroad basing on the incoming mobilities.The project’s quantitative objectives were attained at 96 percent. Out of the 26 planned mobilities, 25 mobilities in total were completed including 3 student mobilities for semester study periods at LUBLIN01 and 22 staff mobilities for short visits: 11 mobilities for teaching assignments and 11 mobilities for training purposes. Two student mobilities from Russia and to Ukraine were not completed as the selected students called off their mobilities.All the project mobilities were based on the relevant Erasmus+ interinstitutional agreements. English was the language of communication among the partners in the plane of organisation and information.All the project participants were assigned financial support from the Erasmus project funds in due financial contracts. In all participant categories, women outnumbered men, at the proportion of 60-40 per cent. The process of preparing international participants to their mobilities was carried out by the University’s Erasmus+ KA1 mobility coordinator with some support from Erasmus office staff, faculty coordinators and collaborators at the partner institutions. The process included information on the mobility objectives, information on the receiving university, visa regulations, insurance, legalisation, accommodation, and financing. The study programme syllabi were available for students and staff at the right time before the planned selection procedures for the planned mobilities. The University’s Erasmus+ KA1 mobility coordinator monitored the project outgoing and incoming mobilities and LUBLIN01 faculty coordinators monitored the study processes of their incoming international students. The University’s Erasmus+ KA1 mobility coordinator also managed the project staff mobilities. The mobility financial support was always delivered to the participants on time and in accordance with the financial contracts. The mobilities outcomes were recognised by the sending institutions, especially in the case of the student mobilities. No relevant complaints from the participants were received during the project implementation.The participants’ surveys show that most participants gained new competencies during their mobilities and their overall assessment of the mobilities was in the positive. Raising staff professional experience helped harmonise collaboration among the universities’ international offices and among coordinators at faculty levels. In the opinion of the participants, the project helped the partners to attain its strategic objectives in internationalisation in education and administration on their local and regional markets.
