Die Hochschule Niederrhein nimmt ihren Bildungsauftrag im regionalen und im internationalen Bereich wahr. Durch die Teilnahme am Erasmus+ Programm bietet sie ihren Studierenden und Mitarbeitern Möglichkeiten der fachlichen und persönlichen Entwicklung in internationalen Bereichen. Studierende werden somit während ihres Studiums mit kulturellen Unterschieden in Studien- und Arbeitsbereichen vertraut. Sie erhalten damit eine gute Basis für spätere Aufgaben in internationalen Unternehmen und sind offener für Tätigkeiten im Ausland. Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter haben die Möglichkeit, ihre internationalen Erfahrungen im Berufsleben auszubauen.In 2018/19 haben 54 Studierende ein Auslandsstudium und 21 ein Praktikum im europäischen Raum absolviert, 19 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter haben am Erasmus-Programm teilgenommen. Die Zahl der Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer am Erasmus-Programm ist mit 94 gegenüber dem Vorjahr leicht gestiegen.Unsere 27 Gaststudierenden wurden durch die Auslandsbeauftragten fachlich betreut und durch das Studiensemester begleitet. Das International Office und das GLOBUS-Team organisierten den Austausch und boten ein abwechslungsreiches Begegnungs- und Freizeitprogramm. Auch in den Fachbereichen wurden Gastdozenten begrüßt. Die Hochschule Niederrhein ist bestrebt, die Zahl der internationalen Austausche zu erhöhen. Dazu baut sie einerseits das Informationsangebot an der Hochschule andererseits das Angebot an englischsprachigen Vorlesungen für internationale Studierende aus. Seit dem Wintersemester 2018/19 gibt es den neuen englischsprachigen Masterstudiengang International Management.
