The Jean Monnet Module in European sustainable values in Common agricultural policy (CAP) shall establish in depth teaching and research on the current European Union agricultural model embedded in the CAP. By studying the EU model of agriculture and perfuming research encompassing the CAP legal framework and sustainable economic, social and environmental values, the module shall also foster understanding of the future obligations of the Republic of Serbia stemming from EU membership process, under the framework of opening negotiations of Chapter 11 - Agriculture and rural development. The Jean Monnet Module in the European sustainable values builds on the results of past activities and represents a continuation of the Jean Monnet Modules “Accession of Serbia to the EU” and “Application of EU values in the polices of the candidate states“. The module shall concentrate on important strategic advantages of the sustainable EU agriculture, as well as on the transposition of the EU acquis and alignment with the CAP's principles of the Republic of Serbia agricultural policy. The Module will include six new teaching courses (288 hours in three years) that shall cover 360 students during three year period, three events involving students, researchers, experts, policy-makers and agriculture sector producers and production of new scientific research publications. The new courses will have an EU added value and will improve the teaching contents of the existing range of undergraduate and master syllabus in European Union studies. The Module aims to contribute to the extension of the number of students studying European integration with a special focus on including those students who do not automatically come into contact with EU studies. Understanding the sustainable principles and values of the Common agricultural policy, linked to the process of European integration, will provide our students (also from rural areas) with relevant knowledge for the future employment market.
