In the past 90 years since their discovery, antibiotics have saved millions of lives from bacterial diseases. However, emerging resistance to antimicrobials now threatens many advances achieved in modern medicine. AMR is a critical global health issue tightly linked with the One Health concept, which recognises that human and animal health are inextricably linked, and that diseases are transmitted from humans to animals and vice versa. One Health also encompasses the environment as another link between humans and animals and a potential source and reservoir of AMR. Antimicrobial resistance is a growing global health concern and threatens the future treatment and health of humans and animals. In addition, AMR limits our ability to achieve several of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The global challenge to address AMR goes beyond the production of new antibiotics and therapies. Reducing demand for new antibiotics through public awareness, infection prevention and control, prudent and rational use of antibiotics for humans and animals, as well as effective diagnosis and surveillance of antibiotic-resistant infections and monitoring antibiotic use, are crucial when dealing with this problem globally. The transmission and spread of AMR in and between One Health compartments is complex, which emphasises the need for comprehensive interventions to reverse the trend of increasing human and animal infections resistant to treatment. The ERA-NET Cofund JPIAMR-ACTION will tackle this central challenge by supporting research and innovation for the development and testing of strategies and methodologies to reduce the transmission and spread of AMR within a full One Health spectrum. The JPIAMR-ACTION co-funded call and other activities will be instrumental in producing new innovative approaches, and advancing existing actions towards the development of new and improved interventions to inhibit or limit the development of AMR in humans, animals and the environment.

The Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETP) is a transnational initiative on joint RTDI programming to boost and accelerate the energy transition, building upon regional and national RTDI funding programmes. It aims to empower the energy transition and contribute to the EU’s goal of becoming the first climate-neutral continent by 2050, by pooling national and regional RDTI funding for a broad variety of technologies and system solutions required to make the transition. It will foster transnational innovation ecosystems from the very local and regional level, up to the transnational European level, thus overcoming a fragmented European landscape. The CETP is aiming to enable 70 national and regional RDTI programme owners and managers from 32 countries to align their priorities and implement annual joint calls from 2022 to 2027 (original first proposal as published by the EC on CORDIS). Actually 30 countries and 55 programme owners and managers formally participate in this Initial Grant Agreement. They also organise joint accompanying activities to enable a dynamic learning process, extract strategic knowledge (“Knowledge Community”) and maximise the impact (“Impact Network”) to accelerate the upscaling, replication and market diffusion of innovative solutions. This will foster the up-take of cost-effective clean energy technologies. The common vision of the CETP is already manifested in its Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) that has been co-created in a broad engagement process during 2020, together with the involved countries, the EU SET-Plan Implementation Workin Groups and ETIPs, all energy relevant ERA-Nets as well as the EERA joint programmes (over 500 editors, co-authors, commenters and discussants). The SRIA was endorsed together with the European Commission (DG RTD and ENER) in November 2020 . This articulates the common goal of (1) building a transnational transformative Joint Programming Platform, (2) developing and demonstrating technology and solutions for the transition of energy systems, and finally (3) building innovation ecosystems that support capacity building at all levels.

M-ERA.NET 3 aims at coordinating the research efforts in the participating EU Member States, Regions, and Associated States in materials research and innovation, including materials for future batteries, to support the circular economy and Sustainable Development Goals. A large network of national and regional funding organisations from 25 EU Members States, 4 Associated States and 6 countries outside Europe will implement a series of annual joint calls to fund excellent innovative transnational RTD cooperation, including one call for proposals with EU co-funding and additional non-cofunded calls. Continuing the activities started under the predecessor project M-ERA.NET 2 (3/2016-2/2021), the M-ERA.NET 3 consortium will address emerging technologies and related applications areas, such as - for example- surfaces, coatings, composites, additive manufacturing or integrated materials modelling. Research on materials supporting the large scale research initiative on future battery technologies will be particularly highlighted as a main target of the cofunded call (Call 2021) with a view to supporting in particular SDG 7 (“Affordable and clean energy”) by enabling electro mobility through sustainable energy storage technology and SDG 9 (“Industrial innovation and infrastructure”) by enhancing scientific research and upgrading the technological capabilities of industrial sectors. Several relevant action plans and initiatives will serve as programmatic guides for M-ERA.NET 3 when defining the joint activities, such as the Circular Economy Action Plan, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the EC communication “A clean planet for all”, and the “European Green Deal”. The total mobilised public call budget is expected to reach 150 million € with additional private investment of 50 million €. Thus, the leverage effect of the EU contribution will reach a factor of 13, exceeding by far the minimum required factor of 5.

"The training course project ""OLYMPISM FOR VALUES EDUCATION"" brought together 31 participant from 9 countries: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Italy, Portugal and Germany. The training course was implemented in Druskininkai, Lithuania on 3-11 of November, 2017. This training course was focusing on providing youth workers, university lecturers, teachers, sports coaches and other educators with tools and methods how to work on values education through sports with youth. Main educational philosophy of the course was based on OVEP 2.0 (Olympic values education program) and sport as a tool. During the course participants gained better understanding of values education theories, gained some tools and created practical methods on how to work with values education. Aim of the training course: Train youth workers and other educators on how to use Olympic values education methodology through sports. Objectives of the training course: - Analyse Olympic and other values in the context of contemporary world, today’s reality of young people. - Explore and understand the principles of non-formal education and it’s links with Olympic value education; - Explore sports as a specific approach to work with various youth groups; - Develop competencies of teachers, youth workers, sport coaches needed for efficient values education among young people; - Create the environment for participants to reflect on their personal values; - Create values’ education strategies and methodologies among youth workers / sport coaches from various EU countries; The partner organizations see values as an important part of holistic educational process and as a pillar in the education of every human being. Values are a common ground for youth work and education in general, moreover a fundamental in participation in shaping the future of Europe. A change in European society can be created only if youth workers and educators in local communities are aware of personal values and have tools which can be used in non-formal educational activities with youth, to raise the value awareness of young people. Participants received an opportunity for self-analysis and reflection activities, rediscovered their own values, analysed the concepts of moral, value systems. Participants had the opportunity to share experiences and methods they used in values education and develop new tools. Main methodologies used in this training course were OVEP 2.0, non-formal education, education through sports, self directed learning. These methodologies will assure that the program of the educational activity will be adopted to the need of participants.
